Join Pampas and Selene as they overcome monsters, demons, and the Dark Priest with the help of the gods themselves! Explore this co-opvania 8-bit platformer alone or with a friend. This retro game is a loving tribute to an MSX2 masterpiece from the creator of UnEpic, Ghost 1.0, and UnMetal.

A great addition to the pantheon of retro metroidvanias. While this game doesn't do anything unique on its own, the experience of exploring the castle never gets old. The map does a lot to help keep record of what you have left to do. I didn't do co-op, so no comment on that portion. Each dungeon had its own new gameplay, though they were a little samey. The stand out, for me, is the soundtrack. Some really tight, 8bit tracks that just never got old. Overall, well worth a playthrough if you love old-school graphics and good, clean metroidvania fun.
Amazing find! This charming retro co-op has a lot of fun to offer. Feels like playing an old SNES game with quality of life updates. Level design is well thought out and progression is paced nicely leading to enjoyable exploration and challenges to master. Still working on beating the game 4 hours in. This genre is a hard hit-or-miss for me, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this one.
It looks very old school and plays like an old 8bit title. but the flow of i t is amazing for what it looks like. Difficult, but fair. It's very retro, but with a bit of a modern sort of underlying with the mechanics without being overly complicated. It's very good.

This game is a fun 2D Metroidvania where you explore, fight monsters, explore dungeons/mazes, fight bosses and do quests while powering up. Collecting your gear as you level up and increase your max Health after defeating enough foes. The game uses pixel graphics but also run a CRT filter over it (I never checked if it could be turned off). I'm not big on CRT filters personally but the game looked good despite it. The game could be a bit challenging at times, especially the boss fights which was fun for the most part but made some of them annoying, one in particulare that was a slogfest of waiting for it to retreat from its attacks, so you had a chance to quickly attack again only for it to counter on the same floor up to four times. Despite the snake boss the games bosses were very fun. The exploration could be tricky sometimes as well but for the most parts were fairly straight forward and easy to navigate. It did have some annoying enemy placements at times though and some of the dungeons/mazes ruins could be tough to find but was overall fun as well. The controls worked well and I had few issues with them overall. The character switching worked a bit iffy at times but controlling the two characters were equally fun. You can switch between both characters at any time with the press of a button. The music in the game was enjoyable to listen to as well. So if you want a smaller sized but fairly challenging Retro inspired Metroidvania with two playable characters then I can recommend this game. Orr if you want to relive some Nostalgia or perhaps see something similar to games of old then this might be for you as well. Overall I had a good time with it.
First let me get the good stuff out of the way: - Faithful to the style of games this is based on - Charming graphical style and music - Easy to pick up and play with a partner Now let's talk about the rest. So this game is kinda hackishly put together and is largely built around fetch quests. A LOT of the game is fetch quests that lead into fetch quests. At first, the premise of a co-operative metroidvania sounds pretty damn cool, until you play long enough to realize how much the co-op aspect feels tacked on last minute to better sell the product. When you find yourself in a position where the player you've chosen is straight up unable to do anything against some bosses while the other player must do all of the work, on top of the design largely reflecting the singleplayer style play where you're able to switch characters on the fly, it dawns you just how much the game isn't really built around co-op at all. As a single-player experience, this game is pretty alright, albeit very tedious. I'd also say it lacks a bit of imagination in that it owns the stock RPG themes and presentation without deviation from those, which might be nice for some who like that theme in itself. The boss patterns are horrible. Absolutely awful. There's numerous times where I found my partner and I could not understand the telegraphing or hitboxes on the bosses or their projectiles, and many of the deaths simply felt out of our control. On top of this, I found Pampas to lack a lot of interesting qualities as a playable character. I'm unsure if this is by design or not. As you progress through the game, you unlock new abilities to bypass certain restrictions and become stronger. Selene being a magic user unlocks a number of spells and interesting qualities, whereas Pampas mainly gets direct upgrades to the strength of his sword or armor. His upgrades feel kinda lackluster and lazy in terms of gameplay comparatively, so if you're playing as him with somebody else, the whole time you're gonna be saying "Man, I wish I could get something cool like what you're getting. I'm just a dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥ knight swingin my swooooord" All in all, this isn't really made to be a co-op game I don't think, and what you're really getting out of this is a very mediocre metroidvania with some decent music. This really needs work, because the co-op element is one of the few unique qualities it has going for it, and if that's not taken enough into account for the bosses and level design, it's pretty damn lame.
Un jeu rétro fun inspiré par The Maze of Gallious.
Comfy oldskool Olympus vibes.
