Pact of Joy

The game was an absolute blast, you can choose to go straight through the main campaign or further explore the Phorcys station and complete various side quests and task that open up the possibility to trigger different jump scares and intense scenarios in which you have to run for your life! It was an amazing experience and i cant wait to see whats next from the devs....

I took my time, explored the station... taking it all in... left the game running wile I walked away for a while.. finished it in 5 hours. I really enjoyed the game environment, and the main characters apartment. The story was.... interesting. The story is a mystery/horror and put together in a weird way. The conversations your character has with others... are weird... and feel off. There's a snarky and disjointed feel to the interactions, and the things the main character says are not things I would say. The interactions are kinda comical which seems weird with the horror aspect. The baddies are super creepy and LOTS of jump scares... which don't usually get me, but... these did. I think the odd, kinda comical conversations (reminds me of Tiny Tunes Adventures) make the jump scares actually work... kinda like if you're watching funny cat videos, and suddenly a screaming demon face pops into the video. The ending is kinda... odd, too... Can I recommend it? I think some people will enjoy it, while others won't. 60% probability I'll play it again. I think it was worth what i paid. I think you should play the prologue first, and if you enjoy the prologue (Pact of Joy: Prologue) you'll likely enjoy the full game. I think I actually enjoyed the prologue more... but.... I give Pact of Joy 7 fart-bubbles out of 10.

Pact of Joy is pretty much a sci fi themed walking sim, with a tad of cosmic horror may I say? There are no puzzles in the game, it's 100% fetch quests and you slowly learn the story (which is interesting enough to keep you going) by reading emails and data logs scattered through computer terminals. There are a couple of chase sequences that are easy, It took me around 3 hours to finish the game and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Game looks great at 4K with all settings maxed out, textures look nice, reflections and lighting look beautiful. I did, however, find a couple of assets that did not have any materials attributed to them - if you ever messed around with Unreal Engine you would recognize a raw or crude mesh, it looks like a gray checkered board. Anyways, looking forward to your next game, I was kind of sad that it ended so fast.

I loved EVERY MINUTE of playing this game. Very well put together, with a perfect amount of side quests. The story is start to finish worth it. Just Sauce Studio has done an amazing job on this game!

Little Story, a few Jumpscares. I enjoyed this Game.

Dieses "Horrorspiel" sieht im Trailer und auf den Screenshots sehr beeindruckend aus. Aufgrund des Settings erwartet man ein atmosphärisches Spiel im Stil von Bioshock. Leider ist das Spiel nur Durchschnitt und nicht mehr. Die gut gestalteten Gegner und das schöne Setting werden überhaupt nicht genutzt. Stattdessen bekommt man nur ein paar billige Horror-Jumpscares geboten, die man schon viel zu oft gesehen hat und die einen nicht einmal mehr ansatzweise erschrecken. Dadurch ist das Spiel eigentlich nur ein ziemlich langweiliger Walking-Sim.

OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS AMAZING. I had so much fun playing this game all the way through. The setting, the atmosphere, the missions! The horror, the chase, the mystery! This game was absolutely beautiful all the way around. I'd recommend for any sci-fi or horror fan for sure, well worth the full price, but it's typically on sale for cheaper.
