NO BS REVIEW: OUTRIDERS (2021) by People Can Fly DNA THE PERFORMANCE: This is a fine game well-made, fast, efficient, and highly playable. I am impressed by the fast load times and server stability, especially considering the design solutions implemented back in 2021. On my rig, the performance is "flawless-ish" : Full 4K at 60–90 FPS (UHD VSR) on Ultra settings with Frame Gen OFF and in-game resolution scaling set to 122%-Stable. I experienced zero crashes and no optimization issues. And I pushed this game "hard run and ram it through the GAME framework hard full speed "like all the way with game fully open .Results = no stutter ,not a blip ,no stutter ,no frame drops ,no traversal stutter ,no issues -nothing My RX9060XT 16GB XFX SWIFT series + Ryzen 5700X on an AM4 B550M PRO mobo fueled with high-speed M.2 SSD PRO, and 4000MHz Patriot Viper Elite II RAM crushed it more than easily, just like it should by design and designated ,completely aside to all the other modern AAA title tested aside for any engine and coding comparison . Again. No surprises here for another backlog game on my list noted. THE GAMEPLAY: It is a very decent game. I had a lot of fun with it allowing me to relax somewhat "galloping" "tug-of-war" neo cynical scepticism in the total absorption" of the "creative sandbox race weighted spectral entity oscillating at places. So..Nice game. THE FEEL: The mechanics clearly draw from Gears of War-ISH, with some Bulletstorm-ISH influence in the audio and a few drops of Unreal Tournament-ISH in the UI and few other oldschool devs builds and methods. It’s all nicely combined and infused into a cohesive new up to date -neo-age dev package. THE TRUTH: This is a solid game, not a broken mess. It’s a functional, fun shooter that looks great and runs smoothly. Don't worry about the opinions of random "Colonial James" individual type who only leave a "Not Recommended" review after 125 hours of playtime. They are usually just bitter because they paid $60 at launch and the game is cheaper now, or they are looking for free DLC in their 400 years of self entitlement .lol It is hypocritical to complain that the developers "don't care" just because the last update was in 2024. If a game from 2021 was already ahead of its time, it doesn't need constant babysitting so it doesn't match the reality too..lol VERDICT: Outriders is a decent game. It works perfectly on my end, has a distinct style, is adequately priced, and delivers on its promises. While I’d like to see more of this design, expecting a sequel is naive given the industry's current state...yet .. Reports confirm that Project Gemini was actually Outriders 2. The game was reportedly near completion—progressing through motion capture—before development was halted in June 2025. Square Enix failed to provide a publishing agreement or financial plan, leading to further massive layoffs following the 2024 takeover. The situation is a corporate failure: Square Enix withheld royalties and ghosted People Can Fly, while Embracer’s SE/PCF purchase and debt-heavy expansion collapsed after the $2 billion Saudi fugazi ghost deal vanished. This triangle of greed, broken promises, and strategic silence killed a nearly finished sequel and decimated the studio and many many decent people and their families. Outriders 1 product is a great game, but Outriders 2 is dead. So yeah ,nice game.Had fun.Thx.
