The good: Excellent combat and classes. Great gear customization and progression. Most everything in the game looks and sounds wonderful. Everything in the game can be done solo if needed. Many enemies actually offer a challenge until learning and unlocking various things. The mid: The story. This game is a story/campaign game and it's not a long ride. Most zones are designed with the same structure/formula. The bad: Sparce and repetitive end game. There are no dedicated sources for items and getting a desired item with a desired mod is going to be a fraction of 1% chance each attempt. Even when playing single player, this is another game that requires online play. The game is still prone to occasional disconnects that can reset your progress in long fights and endgame areas. Sniper rifles are awful. Biggest highlight for me: Being able to use a class skill to leap long distances, through walls, and crash land onto globs of snipers before wiping them out with a shotgun that procs fiery explosions. Just awesome gameplay. 7.5/10 - If pigs fly and they make an Outriders 2, check it out because this game was very close to being amazing.

I put a ton of time into this on PS5 at launch and just grabbed it again on sale, and it absolutely holds up. This game is a seriously underrated gem. The gameplay, visuals, and mechanics are all top-notch, with only a few brief loading screens as a minor downside. It’s totally playable solo, and if you’re in the mood for a fun, cover-based looter shooter, look no further.
