Simple things just don't work. UI is very rough, and not at all user friendly. When I watched 4 characters all fighting each other pushing a door back and forth, all stuck and unable to re-path, I was done. It's just not very good unfortunately. Great idea, but the execution is below amateur. Too bad.
I am writing this review early because the dev deserves good reviews and for this game to be recognised. While playing Going Medieval i always wished there was a fantasy aspect to it, Orcs, magic etc. Now i have found it in Outland Kingdoms. Made by one guy and it's awesome. I will update this review at a later date.
This is a fun game that gives you a bit of RP/RTS and city builder play. The developer is pretty active on Discord and has pushed out some patches this month (June 2025) based upon my personal feedback in the discord. This is not a complete game , but there is plenty to do to take up a 5 to 10 hour play session. There is a lot more that the developer wants to add to the game in the future. There are no guides. Asking questions on the forum or Discord will help, but its pretty sandbox. I would say give the game a shot.
This game has a little bit of everything for you. You can replay it countless times with unique play through every time. 10 out of 10 would recommend trying this out.
Just bought this game for christmas and I have to say I LOVE IT!!!!!! I'm sooooo excited to see whats to come in the future!!!
This game is very good. It runs very well, and I'm having a lot of fun. I'm excited to see what else is coming.
Can't reccomend this game as for now... Buggy, Slow and Boring for what it costs is a small developer and the game has potential but it just takes too long and some stuff keep happening. Resources appearing out of nowhere in your storage, lack of explanation in some stuff, hunted/killed beings end up in holes in the map that u are not able to reach leaving them to root there indifenetely or they direcly spawn in there, corpses textures getting stretched, citizens dont priorize perishing food nor cooked food to eat, they do other stuff over prioritized jobs, job assignment is a mess and also lacks some explanation, you have to pay a money tribute every month at early when you barely have any way to get this money, year one and still no quest rather than the tribute, some random messages for factions you never get to met and more...
It is a lot of fun. I've been looking for a game like this for awhile.
It was fun until suddenly 4 hours in everyone decided to stop farming and hunting and cooking and just starved to death. My best advice is to start with the world mage as your starting character. Thats the only real way to heal in the game. Even after researching herbal medicine and poultices I cant seem to find how to craft healing kits at all for survivors of raids. Had to rely on the world mage to heal dying people.
pre-review: This game is very complicated [even moreso than rimworld in some cases even if you are used to colony sims. The menus take a bit getting used to, especially the construction menu], buggy as all hell [pink traders - a bit harsh on the eyes but just a visual bug, enemies sending traders to you i don't mind this one too much, it's free food!, your colonists not doing what they're supposed to and getting stuck. This is the major bug that ♥♥♥♥♥ me sometimes. One time when I was playing and a colonist got stuck, I didn't realize it until AFTER they starved to death. That colonist? My faction leader. Needless to say I restarted and tried again lmao] and needs a lot of work and optimization fixes as I feel like there's a memory leak if you play for too long but I can't confirm it. It lags after a good while and needs to be restarted. However, despite all of the bugs and gripes I can't put it down. It's a good game. For a solo dev project this game is pretty good There's a lot of cool idea's here and the developer is active on their project. I feel like I've already got more than my moneys worth and I haven't even finished the damn research tree yet! I'll be keeping an eye on this project ♥
