It was fun until suddenly 4 hours in everyone decided to stop farming and hunting and cooking and just starved to death. My best advice is to start with the world mage as your starting character. Thats the only real way to heal in the game. Even after researching herbal medicine and poultices I cant seem to find how to craft healing kits at all for survivors of raids. Had to rely on the world mage to heal dying people.
This game is very good. It runs very well, and I'm having a lot of fun. I'm excited to see what else is coming.
Im just starting off in the game, im hoping too play with more quests, tasks, but i like it so far! im hoping for lots of customization and dialogue! i love the personality of the game and characters so far, i was laughing because i put the campfire in my villagers wooden house and uh.. IT STARTED BURNING DOWN! AND MY PREGNANT VILLAGER WAS TRYING TO PUT IT OUT AND I WAS LIKE GIRL ITS FAR PAST SAVING GET OUT OF THERE, then another one was sleepign in there with the fire and all the supplies burned :( it was so goofy lol but it made me laugh alot. i played similar games and that never happened so i should have thought oh uh maybe a campfire isnt such a good idea on a wooden floor.

I came to write this review after expressing my thoughts on Facebook. I HIGHLY recommend trying this game. Yes I haven't played long but I can tell this is a well put together game. Let's get into it. One thing that stuck out to me immediately, was the day and night cycle and season changes. When it comes to kingdom building games, details like those always tend to get overlooked. You're saying people don't sleep? They don't get tired? Cold? Hot? Etc. The cycles ad depth to the game. It's a small gesture but impacts greatly. Like you shouldn't be able to grow crops in the winter so you better get by on trading or have a storage of food supply handy. Little things like that. Now the building is also really detailed. You can build your kingdom how you want. Down to creating paths. Each building isn't a pre-built structure. You build it yourself. Giving you freedom to make your kingdom unique. It's nice to see and read what your civilians are thinking and expressing themselves. Gives you an idea on what they may need. Even if you think your kingdom is solid already. The game is only around 2GB. So it's easy on your PC. A potato PC should have no issue running this. Is there any changes I'd like to see? A few. One being a larger map and better camera option. I'd love to have a map to make my creativity go wild and I'd like the option to zoom out further on the screen to see more of kingdom at a time. I'd like to see hopefully more races. Maybe a wolf race or more? The more variety in that would be awesome. Lastly I'd like to have the option to oppose the eternal emperor. Personally when I build a kingdom and run it, I expect to be the one no one has to answer to. I'm the king (or queen). I built all of this so why do I have to pay you in taxes? Something like that. Overall it's a very well put together game and it's only in early access. Also done by ONE PERSON! Go support them where you can. I can't even fathom the things they plan to add in later. Nicely done!
pre-review: This game is very complicated [even moreso than rimworld in some cases even if you are used to colony sims. The menus take a bit getting used to, especially the construction menu], buggy as all hell [pink traders - a bit harsh on the eyes but just a visual bug, enemies sending traders to you i don't mind this one too much, it's free food!, your colonists not doing what they're supposed to and getting stuck. This is the major bug that ♥♥♥♥♥ me sometimes. One time when I was playing and a colonist got stuck, I didn't realize it until AFTER they starved to death. That colonist? My faction leader. Needless to say I restarted and tried again lmao] and needs a lot of work and optimization fixes as I feel like there's a memory leak if you play for too long but I can't confirm it. It lags after a good while and needs to be restarted. However, despite all of the bugs and gripes I can't put it down. It's a good game. For a solo dev project this game is pretty good There's a lot of cool idea's here and the developer is active on their project. I feel like I've already got more than my moneys worth and I haven't even finished the damn research tree yet! I'll be keeping an eye on this project ♥
The control scheme and menus are so clunky and unintuitive you may think you are playing an inhouse pre alpha.
I like it!
where to start... the part where controlling the units isn't responsive, or the part where the Camera decides to teleport randomly, or how everything else is wrong with the game? well, lets start with the game itself: after closing out of the game, my whole system just decides to take a ♥♥♥♥. I cant open any other game, steam decides to force close, my browser stops responding, and everything else just stops entirely. while in the game itself, setting the graphics to low has no performance impact with my system, regardless of what it's set to, the game is always at 40FPS and every now and then the game stutters for a fraction of a second, every 5 seconds. while trying to control my units during a battle, i would click on the enemy, and not see my units move at all, but clicking on the ground, they *sometimes* move, i say sometimes because there are times where i click and they actually do move to where i want, other times i click and they move to an upstairs room, completely different to where my mouse cursor was, too. the camera movement itself, is absolutely trash. when i move the camera normally, just fine, but when i try to rotate while moving, it doesn't respond sometimes, and when i zoom in as close as possible and rotate, the camera teleports to a completely different location on the map. now for the other stuff: character customization is trash. only creating your leader and not the other members of the team is the worst idea ever. the ui for construction is the absolute worst ui i've ever seen in a Sandbox game. not having an icon for the construction is the stupidest idea one has ever made, in a game. for a game that has been out for a few years and very few updates, i'm 100% not recommending this game, ever. even if this game somehow get's out of Early Access, which is unlikely, due to the incompetence of the devs of this trash game. and that's saying something, because i don't talk trash of any devs in my reviews, only the games.
