Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
In a solar system cut-off from a ravaged Earth, you play as a scavenger trying to make a living in the dredges of space. Wage-slave scrapper life isn’t enough anymore, and at last you’ve pulled together the funds (plus a hefty loan) to have a go at independence.
Based in the same universe as Blue Bottle Game’s last hit NEO Scavenger, learn to manage your dysfunctional crew and ship as you fend off bankruptcy...or worse.
Every choice you make will affect the outcome of the game. In character creation, you’ll use a Career Kiosk to shape your character’s background, income, and qualifications. Use it to customise your traits and skillset, which will be essential when managing your ship, its crew, and anyone sticking their noses in your business. You’ll start out the game with enemies, ex-lovers, and acquaintances to seek out… or avoid. Just remember your early decisions will affect your options and outcomes in conversations down the line.
Build your dream ship from the ground up, using detailed, functional parts. Scavenge “pre-loved” parts in the boneyard to upgrade your ship - finding old or rare parts in the system is much cheaper than tracking down the original manufacturer. Who has time to scour the solar system? Hook up subsystems, add extra power and fuel, and be sure to replace parts which have worn out during your adventures. Parts are essential to your experience and will change how your ship feels to fly.
“I cannot change the laws of physics, Captain!” In Ostranauts you will be piloting a ship under the laws of Newtonian flight, learning to fly using in-world manuals and sheets. It will be your job to manipulate control panels, flip switches, and to resist the urge to press the big shiny red button… Every craft has a different flight feel based on thrusters, hull mass, and how you’ve customised the ship. Remember to use a light touch whilst docking, and try not find yourself in the outer rim with an empty fuel gauge.
Even in the darkest corners of space, you are not alone. Each character you encounter runs an AI that is constantly making choices based on their current needs and past experiences. They have physiological and emotional needs, ranging from basic wants like food, oxygen and water all the way up to deeper needs like intimacy and security. As captain, keep an eye out at the space port, scout out a crew and build those relationships. Your background will shape out how you are able to interact with other characters and if they will join your ship - have you developed a silver tongue or does fear rule your ship?
Based in the same universe as NEO Scavenger, Ostranauts will be rich with lore for those who wish to explore. After the collapse of civilization on Earth, colonies and factions formed - colonising other planets, moons and asteroids - with only those able to adapt to the harshness of space able to survive. As states and corporations spread their reach through the System, whispers of unexplained phenomena are creeping through back channels.
Blue Bottle Games encourages players to join the Discord, share modding ideas, and to help grow the world of Ostranauts. Modders who want to make their experience more unique are able to edit a wide variety of game data - most of the game's data is in plain-text files for easy access. If you have an inquiry, send us a message in either the Blue Bottle or Kitfox Discord.

This is a beautiful game. Live the spacer life in the aftermath of the collapse. Struggle to keep you and your ship alive by any means at your disposal and regardless of the unexpected that may strike. Yearn for human contact in an isolation imposed upon you at birth. Experience the vastness of space's apathy towards the human race. Die alone trapped in your one ticket you thought you had because though you have the tools to fix the ship you asphyxiate and fall asleep before you are able and your frozen body lies in space with your gear for some other survivor to take it for themselves.
Very deep mechanics, I'm still wrapping my head around it. I like it, very good game.

It's my kind of complex. I still don't get it completely (I keep dying before the first in-game 24 hours), but wow do I have fun. Death 1: A fire randomly started in my ship while I was out scavenging. I "inhaled a lethal dose of smoke. Death imminent" Death 2: Ship power ran out. Got locked out of my ship (AND LIFE SUPPORT!). Kind of suffocated to death. Oops, should have checked that power before headed out... Not watching YouTube videos to really get a good understanding of the game. <3
good game
The amount of random chance for stupid things to happen is really infuriating to the point I would not reccomend this game I love the game loop of salvaging but it is really hard to figure out what went wrong and there is not much help on everything outside the initial tutorial, again really like the core loop but the amount of times a hole just opens up out of no where is really annoying makes me feel I just need to set my character to repair all the time
6/10 -- [!! F U N !! BUT D I S A P O I N T I N G] -- My hour count is a result of a lack of games to play, nevertheless, this game has been fun but at every moment past the 15hr mark I've thought to myself "where's the content?" Essentially if you're the type that enjoys grindy and overly complicated complete freedom sandbox games (kenshi, rimworld, etc), then you'll enjoy it, but likely come to the same opinion as me. ------------------------------------------ SHIP BUILDING AND DESIGN LACKS SERIOUS DEPTH Half the game is grinding away at building your space ship, yet there is so little to build decoration and functionality wise. You have two types of chairs, three types of tables, and no real interior decoration other than painfully matching correct floor variants you rarely find (like 5 decor items I can think of that aren't those). For functional parts, you just need a ship battery, thruster, pilot seat, and two air pumps (one for O2 and N2). Then you have your fully functional space ship with it's core systems and sadly, it doesn't get much more in depth than that beyond building your first ship's fusion reactor. Like theres no need to build a dedicated life support room on your ship, managing lifesupport systems is as simple as placing an air pump inside a room. It doesn't even matter where you place your thrusters, sensors, or anything. As long as if it's on the ship it flies. It just really feels lackluster, like there's no solar panels, no ship shield room to set-up, no crafting room, etc. The variety for what is there is also very limited. You'd expect water to be an important resource in space, but it's not here. You'll just be storing gallons in your fridge. ------------------------------------------- LACKING LOOT VARIETY You'll always be finding the same exact stuff in chests and crates aboard every single ship. Its not exciting. ------------------------------------------ WORTHLESS TRAITS Theres a wide plethora of traits in character creation, half of which no one has any clue as to what they do. Is cooking a hobby? Well thats never coming up again, and your not going to be cooking anything because its not a feature. Theres just so much that does truely nothing ------------------------------------------ LACKING QOL There's just so so so much QOL that is lacking, especially when it comes to ship design. Character pathfinding is awful and dumb. Theres a ship building mode in the game, but you cannot import your designs or ANYTHING made in that mode to the real game. There is no planning mode. Darkness always makes building difficult, you can never get a full view of your ship you are working on. To remedy this you can use a 'visor' such as a 'price visor' which removes the darkness and color codes items by their relative value. But in that mode you cannot see any orders you have issued, any walls you set to be constructed, flooring you just ordered your character to put down, etc. ------------------------------------------ VERY ANNOYING CHARACTER NEED BAR MANAGEMENT Your character has mental needs, such as socialization, talking to family, etc. To solve these it is a tedious task of right clicking your character, and pressing the correct hotkey that lowers the need bar over 20 times or be penalized stat wise. Im not joking, it's incredibly stupid. You will literally spend 3 minutes IRL spam clicking "browse social media, long for a better love life, remember family, etc" to make your need bars go down to keep your character happy. These systems ARE NOT ENGAGING IN ANY WAY and are my biggest gripe with the game. ------------------------------------------ !! BUGGY & UNOPTIMIZED!! Admittedly, I haven't experience a save breaking bug a save and reload can't fix, but it's annoying coming across bugs that require you to reload the game in order to continue playing. Also, runs a bit hot for what it is and saving and loading takes ages. ------------------------------------------ -- THE REASON THIS IS A POSITIVE REVIEW STILL -- At the end of it all, I still enjoy this game but am disappointed constantly. What is keeping me playing is the exploration and that sense of progression. There really is a ton to explore, space is huge in this game. But the progression is what is really keeping me coming back, you start with rags and work your way to riches and that is just incredibly fun and well done in this game.
super soupce
The perfect game, however, for some reason a 3 days savegame is working really slow. Probably the game needs to be optimized as saving game also takes its time. I have a good setup so it shouldn't be a problem. Game HIGHLY recommended. You will enjoy hours and hours. Good job devs
Best space life sim ive ever played
I bought a ship, just to never leave my station and instead I decided to meet my mortgage quotas by doing gigs, then I socialized with this lady, we hit it off and she kissed me. I then got a text from my ex saying she needs my help with a "technical problem", I of course agreed because why not, I won't ever get to do it Later on I was repairing something on my ship, still hadn't left my station, and to complete the repair I had to get out into the little asteroid the station is on top of... I promptly found the corpses of my crush and my ex, suffocated in space I didn't bat an eye, and dragged my ex's dead, frozen corpse into the station NOBODY said anything as I dragged them to the scrap vendor and sold their entire belongings for profit. I then went back to get my crush's frozen corpse to do the exact same thing. I am now up 60k, my crush had a pda cartridge worth 25k I still haven't left the station once 10/10 game, I might not have played much yet but I already love it
