Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
In a solar system cut-off from a ravaged Earth, you play as a scavenger trying to make a living in the dredges of space. Wage-slave scrapper life isn’t enough anymore, and at last you’ve pulled together the funds (plus a hefty loan) to have a go at independence.
Based in the same universe as Blue Bottle Game’s last hit NEO Scavenger, learn to manage your dysfunctional crew and ship as you fend off bankruptcy...or worse.
Every choice you make will affect the outcome of the game. In character creation, you’ll use a Career Kiosk to shape your character’s background, income, and qualifications. Use it to customise your traits and skillset, which will be essential when managing your ship, its crew, and anyone sticking their noses in your business. You’ll start out the game with enemies, ex-lovers, and acquaintances to seek out… or avoid. Just remember your early decisions will affect your options and outcomes in conversations down the line.
Build your dream ship from the ground up, using detailed, functional parts. Scavenge “pre-loved” parts in the boneyard to upgrade your ship - finding old or rare parts in the system is much cheaper than tracking down the original manufacturer. Who has time to scour the solar system? Hook up subsystems, add extra power and fuel, and be sure to replace parts which have worn out during your adventures. Parts are essential to your experience and will change how your ship feels to fly.
“I cannot change the laws of physics, Captain!” In Ostranauts you will be piloting a ship under the laws of Newtonian flight, learning to fly using in-world manuals and sheets. It will be your job to manipulate control panels, flip switches, and to resist the urge to press the big shiny red button… Every craft has a different flight feel based on thrusters, hull mass, and how you’ve customised the ship. Remember to use a light touch whilst docking, and try not find yourself in the outer rim with an empty fuel gauge.
Even in the darkest corners of space, you are not alone. Each character you encounter runs an AI that is constantly making choices based on their current needs and past experiences. They have physiological and emotional needs, ranging from basic wants like food, oxygen and water all the way up to deeper needs like intimacy and security. As captain, keep an eye out at the space port, scout out a crew and build those relationships. Your background will shape out how you are able to interact with other characters and if they will join your ship - have you developed a silver tongue or does fear rule your ship?
Based in the same universe as NEO Scavenger, Ostranauts will be rich with lore for those who wish to explore. After the collapse of civilization on Earth, colonies and factions formed - colonising other planets, moons and asteroids - with only those able to adapt to the harshness of space able to survive. As states and corporations spread their reach through the System, whispers of unexplained phenomena are creeping through back channels.
Blue Bottle Games encourages players to join the Discord, share modding ideas, and to help grow the world of Ostranauts. Modders who want to make their experience more unique are able to edit a wide variety of game data - most of the game's data is in plain-text files for easy access. If you have an inquiry, send us a message in either the Blue Bottle or Kitfox Discord.

It is quite unique with an interesting gameplay loop and mechanics. It is also made by a studio that is known for polishing their games, rather than abandoning them.
games amazing dont listen to the BS , its not quite done but if someone with the attention issues I have can sink 100 hours into it i know you autists can.

Ostranauts has a steep learning curve, unique delivery of story/character content, and a number of bugs that need to be hashed out. Aside from the tutorial (which has improved significantly since the beginning), it does not hold your hand. It gave me difficulty in my first 5-10 hours, and I lost steam with it for a while. That being said, when I pushed through that and got a handle on the UI, character management, fully explored ship building, and started some questlines it became apparent there's a lot more going on with this game than some people give it credit for. This game is a slow burn. Usually it respects your time, sometimes it doesn't (went to Titan shipyard to buy a corvette and only junkers were for sale) - you are insignificant and the sandbox world around will just spiral sometimes (random dead stations for example - though I haven't come across this). But when you survive that first trip to another planet, your first micrometorite strike, or get chased down by pirates only to fight them off with a katana and win/take their ship - it nets you that feeling few games seem to nail these days. It's enjoyable to fix up a floating wreck and make it your own, build out your starter coffin, find that one piece of salvage you were looking for, or take out a giant loan on something luxury. Same for those frantic moments where you have to decide whether or not to vent your cabin because you let a piece of conduit go too long so there's a fire, but you also have a limited amount of nitrogen/oxygen to replenish your atmosphere. It captures the spectrum of hard sci-fi experiences we imagine pretty well; from the monotony of inter-planetary travel and those time of pure panic and uncertainty if you and your crew is going to make it to your destination. In some ways, it's like a version of The Sims where your home is your ship and you could die over a seemingly insignificant oversight -- or a system authority vessel could collide with you at 1 km/s. If you like the following games or some of their mechanics you may like this one: Project Zomboid, Kenshi, KSP, Hardspace Shipbreaker. If you like The Expanse or other grounded sci-fi you may like this as well. Results not guaranteed, but I like this title. If you'd like to see someone who is earnest in their assessment of the game and quirks but clearly still enjoys it, check out Rhadamat's YouTube channel to see how it may fit for you.

I LOVE GANKING AND STRIPPING SHIPS LIKE A MANIAC!!!!!!!!!!!
Great shipbreaking sim where you build your own ship, tile by tile. It's got HVAC, interplanetary maneuvers, and Newtonian physics. It is in the dead center of all my venn diagrams. If you want a blue-collar hard sci-fi space sim, this it it. Really hope the dev keeps supporting it past this 1.0 release date. Put out some cosmetic supporter DLC if need, I'll buy it.
I've been following and playing Ostranauts through years of EA and I'm pleased that is now officially released. I'm a game developer myself and I often like to play games to see new ideas and new mechanics - this game is full of really interesting ideas. The progression from - how am I ever going to progress to slowly building up your knowledge of the game, your equipment, your ship, making a good find and the realistic feel of the world is very worthwhile. It has a lot of things to like: - interesting character creation scenarios - awesome derelicts to explore - meaningful scrapping - fun encounters - interesting social dynamics - feels impactful when you talk yourself out of situations like bribing the authorities - a nicely thought out world I have not come close to finishing the game - just a few scrapping runs, travelling between a few stations and some in-game socializing. Though I wanted to give the game a thumbs up. Some things that would make it better: - more choice over the initial ship - visual spaceflight for ship travel - I would prefer full joystick-like movement - though it would at least be better if there was a viewport showing your progress than just essentially a 2D vector plot - the inventory management on the characters and the ship - the uninstalling, installing and fixing can drag on - though it deepens your immersion into the world Note that I just play as a single NPC and I haven't been hiring crew / adding AIs. It has a bit of jankiness that rankle me as a developer - though I feel I am more than getting my money's worth.
the Sims + Rimworld + Cosmoteer = Ostranauts. An absolute gem!
amazing game, star citizen in 2D. suprisingly emersive
