Great story

It's fun! I feel like I work for the NSA or FSB lol
Interesting story, but the gameplay gets repetitive after a while. Got this game for free years ago during one of the Humble Bundle's giveaways. The soundtrack is great, and the story kept me interested from beginning to end. The game touches on themes that still feel relevant today. after seeing all the endings, I couldn't say either side was completely right or innocent... not even myself. Definitely worth trying if you like story-driven detective games.
I like text-based games with a fancy UI on top. The heavy emphasis on reading, cross-referencing, and piecing information together really appeals to me. Orwell hits that sweet spot, although it's not without its flaws. The biggest issue is the lack of challenge. You can mindlessly follow the highlighted sources and finish the game without much effort. You rarely have to stop and think about the information you uncover. One exception is the conflicting evidence, where you need to decide which piece of information is correct when two or more sources contradict each other. But even those don't seem to have much effect. I made a few mistakes and didn't notice much impact on the story (if you don’t count the unlawful arrest achievement). Another weak point is the endings. Some of them feel too contrived. What should happen if you uncover kompromat on the party leader of a dictatorial regime and flag it in a top-secret system hidden from the citizens? Apparently, the police will arrest her because that's what the system mandates to do! That said, Orwell was still right up my alley, and I enjoyed my time with it, even if it loses steam toward the end. Journey before destination!
The play-style is super addicting and the plot sucks you in immediately!
