In the roomscale VR wavegame Orc Hunter you have to defend yourself against endless hordes of orcs. To do so you can either use swords in close combat or fight them with a bow or magic staff from a distance.

First impressions.... no sound, glitchy teleporting (even worse than the original demo somehow...) and an overall feel that this title should have been a free early access. As a developer who is VERY much an amatuer myself, even I feel this game needs months of work before it's ready to ask people for any money at all.
I am surprised this received all around positive reviews. The price point is fantastic and the graphics are amazing, but the sword combat is awful. As well as the teleport system is still very much a work in progress. The teleport system shows you a blue light when you can travel to a location and a red light when you cannot. It seems like most places you can't travel to for no reason what-so-ever. Overall this game could be great, but needs a lot of polish. It's still in early access and will gladly change my review when more updates are released.

If you like the demo you will like the game. The game is orc killing fun and its by no means an easy game, so be prepared to sweat when your swinging your sword (or drawing your bow)! It is in early access though so not all features are in the game but its still really cool!
I have played Orc Hunter for the past 2 days and had a lot of fun. It is very challenging and at some point i was really struggeling to defeat the wave. I love the skins and the new map. I also found myself fighting off orcs for hours, just to beat the highscore of my brother :D
Worst vr game ever. Just play quest for the golden trophy on rec room for free instead of spending 10 bucks for this trash.
Orc Hunter VR is a VR only swordfighting game where you stand in an area and a bunch of orcs rush at you so you have to kill them. Whee. The whole thing looks asset flipped and the quality is garbage. The developers made this free, which is noble, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. It's clear the developers chose to make this VR exlusive to prevent any comparisons with non-VR games, a comparison this game would suffer badly in. That aside, this is just a wave survival shooter/brawler, favoured by many developers as they don't need to bother with level design or anything. I've played better quality Russian asset flips.
Orc Hunter VR is a free to play VR Game that was a paid product at one time, changed to free. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok , played bad, sounded ok. Melee combat is bad because of: Teleport is main problem with this game, very limited in distance and location that you can teleport. Has Bad blocking code, which will let some attacks that you are blocking through. CONS: Does not work with Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, it crashes to desktop with an error report. Try it or don't try it, but don't buy it.
Some things to note -Blocking the "bigger orcs with HP numbers" is hit or miss on my end even if my shield is up and am on flat ground against the enemy. This gets worse on hills because its like their hitting my legs. Did not even attempt to try to block their attacks with the dual wield "cool wield" setup. -I liked how in the F2P demo the bow was easier to use, and what i mean by that is the bow doesn't attempt to "auto-correct" itself when you draw it. Am sure those who used the bow in the F2P demo can understand what i mean the bow felt more "flexible" if i can find any way to describe it.
Game is stuck on credits from start. Contacted developer and have yet to receive help. Can't get a refund because steam says I have over 6 hours of game time. Not sure how when the game has never made it past the start up screen.
