Wow, that really pisses me off. I played for about 30 minutes, Exited the game . Came back a little while later and it was not saved where I left off. This game does not save??? that sucks. I was actually enjoying this. I am not starting over again. The only other complaint I have is The Music does not at all fit with the game or story. It sounds like music that should be played on a 1980s Street Car Racing game. This game is just disappointing . Could have been great. But I have no patience for a non save game. Kind of outrageous to leave that out . SMH!
I can't recommend this on steam for the same reason I can't recommend the game "Drowning". There is a more up to date version of the game that fixes bug and issues that isn't available on Steam. This updated version also fixes the broken achievement. As for the game itself. It's ok. Not the greatest walking sim, not the worst. The narrative seems a bit forced, and the voice actor's mic peaks a few times. The music is a rather odd choice considering everything else. The graphics are nice enough when they work, but there are frequent visual bugs that will happen during your entire playthrough.
well, this game is junk. it runs poorly (unity engine and big, wide levels, not a good combination), had glitched UI, exactly one runing sound (patsch patsch like a duck), elevator music all the time, had no save system in the levels and trust my, the levels are huge. hey the ending is a never ending loading screen (alt f4 helps, u know) + in level 4 you have a broken secret, so you can not gain the achievement (the buggy entrance near the dinosaur in level 2 can be bypassed on the right side).
In its current state, I cannot for the life of me recommend this unpolished game. There's a lot of work that needs to be done in both UI and the barely defined gameplay departments, from minor patches to noticeable bug fixes. Starting with the former, there are some graphical glitches at draw distance that can be seen depending on where you aim. Plus, there's the annoying footstep sound effect that makes me wonder if the unnamed protagonist had shovels below his shoes or something and resulted in me having to change the volumes in game though not by much since the narration is associated with that as well. There's also no indication for the movement controls anywhere, so much so that it took me a bit to notice that I could run and jump with the controls I've learnt from other first person perspective games. For the latter we can start mentioning the soul-crushing lack of mid level save state. I learned this the hard way after resetting Act 4 because I couldn't get past an invisible wall to get the last collectible for the level, attributing it at the time to a load error. Since at the time of writing this such bugs haven't been fixed, not only can't you get all of the achievements, you have to beat each level in one go, no questions asked. Furthermore, we have what happens at the very end of the game. Without spoiling anything, once you are entering what I assume is the last cutscene after going through the final act, the game goes into a loading screen and just stays there without going further. No number of button presses, pausing nor prayers worked, leaving me to close the game and getting a menu glitch where the start menu was on top of the pause one. What a fitting finale to this 4 hours long run. Having said all of the above, there's still some positive aspects to it. There's the tragic tale and the slow rock and new wave soundtrack which separately got me different kinds of enjoyment but not always fit together leaving me wondering if the people working on them talked to each other before its integration. Most importantly, the nature setting made this one of my most recent screenshot heavy games to date. There must be at least 200+ in my folder, many worth of being wallpaper candidates mind you. I just couldn't help myself considering that apart from that the only gameplay noteworthy were the secrets scattered around each level, which weren't difficult to get aside from the exceptioned one already mentioned. But in the end, not even the screenshots nor its cheap price can make me overlook all its problems. I suggest either waiting for a series of patches or giving another game a chance.
