I Want It That Way от Backstreet Boys.
Maybe it's because I've played quite a few VNs from the same group by now, but I've been experiencing some serious déja-vu while going through this visual novel, despite not having started this one before. (I was half-tempted to re-install the other VNs for comparison's sake but I couldn't be bothered in the end. The artwork of the characters is nice, but the backgrounds are, as expected, just pretty pictures with a filter effect. I have a hard time telling whether the voice actors are professionals due to the switches in character volumes even for the very same character speaking at a time. (Though perhaps anime has spoiled me into thinking that this would have to be the lower end of the professional spectrum when it comes to bringing a character to life.) Sometimes the voices were louder than the background music (which is what I set it to), and sometimes they were muffled out somehow. The ending song, while beautiful, does also not give off a vibe of production value.
Bland story with little depth. The skip function is a pain in the proverbial, as there's no option to skip only previously read text. Although, the choices only seem to affect one or two lines of dialogue anyway, so I wasn't missing much. My biggest gripe, and the reason why I'm bothering to write a review at all, is the closing credits song. You cannot skip it, not without closing the game, and in order to get all the endings you have to play through multiple times, so you get to listen to the barely competent ballad sung by a vocalist who is not quite bad enough to be bad, but also not great either at least six times. It's going to haunt me for a while.

Introduction
In this visual novel, you play as Benjamin Campbell, a young adult who works as a salesman in a steel pipes company. The company he works for is close to bankruptcy, and he has to try and secure a deal to prevent that. While securing the deal, he meets a lost love from eleven years ago, Tara. He now has a chance to fix what he didn’t do before, and possible re-kindle their old relationship.
Pros:
- It has voice acting, which is pretty decent but at some points it’s barely audible. - I really enjoyed the concept of the story, meeting a high school crush eleven years later and wanting to change things. - There are six different endings, each with their own achievement if you manage to get it. - The character artwork is appealing, though a little odd they put it against filtered backgrounds. - The background music is beautiful, and calming to listen to.
Cons:
- Instead of drawing their own backgrounds, they used pictures and put a filter over it. - Doesn’t have basic features, such as fast forward or go back. This makes it a little more annoying to get all the endings. - There is a skip function, however, it continues to skip text after you’ve made a choice too. - Voice acting audio’s inconsistent. At some points it’s barely audible, I had to turn the background music all the way down just to hear the voices. - The sprites take some time to load instead of being there instantly, most visual novels have the sprites appear instantly. - Unskippable ending, when trying to get all the endings, it is a little annoying. - A lot of the choices seem as if they don’t affect the ending at all. - The endings are just a small paragraph saying what happened, and every playthrough is pretty much the same, excluding the ending paragraph. Honestly, I definitely enjoyed the concept of meeting a lost love and rekindling their relationship, I just think the way it was portrayed in this visual novel seemed to be a little boring. The game is pretty short, while some visual novels can be done really well with short stories, it feels as if this one didn’t have enough time to develop the characters enough. The main problem, for me, was the interface and its lack of some basic features. Though I haven’t used the Tyrano engine and don’t know if it works differently to Ren.py. (Got this game for free from Zaraki Snakenoman. Thanks, man!)
Do I need to give this game One Last Chance?
In the same vein as the game Fix Me Fix You comes a similar game with a plot you've seen in several visual novels prior...a story about a guy reuniting with his old flame/crush and hoping to rekindle some romance between them as they reminisce. Except this time, only one of the endings has that happen...most of which you can expect failure, but with your overall mission (which is a signed contract from your client) being a success...of course, what else are you supposed to do with your free time while waiting for a decision that will save your company? Yep...reunite with an old female friend. The graphics are decent...though generic, the voice-acting is poor (as other reviewers have said, it sounds like the actors were reading their scripts just once rather than adding any inflection...or adding inappropriate inflection. Points for trying though, even though the main female lead played an American who could not pronounce Oregon correctly), and there is no skip button...though there is a skip option that will blaze through all the text (read or not) until you hit a decision...kind of poor taste in my opinion. To get all the achievements, you must replay this game at least 6 times under the condition of a counter and a few decisions that actually matter outside of working with a counter that effects the ending. And finally, the story? I've seen it written several times in movies and other visual novels...it's nothing too surprising if you're familiar with movies like Made of Honor. If there's any positive, it's that the music alone is calming. So, would I recommend One Last Chance? Sadly, no. Although I've seen several worse visual novels out there, this one performed pretty poorly and I kept wanting the female lead to just go away since she kept making the main objective a side-story while her side objective worked as the main story. A single playthrough will last 30 minutes if you listen to the dialogue, but shorter if you just skip through it. With all the dialogue of all options, you're looking at about 40-45 minutes of audio and text...not worth the asking price of $4, if you ask me. $1 would be more appropriate for this one. Buy during a sale, but don't expect greatness out of this one. 2/10 Whether you give this One Last Chance is up to you...but for me, I did and it failed to live up to expectations.
Just completed 100% VN called "One Last Chance", it's a short story but really good and the soundtracks really make the vibe going along with the CGs. Great ♥♥♥♥, I highly recommend it. I think the best I can give from myself is this recommendation, so maybe someone actually will read this and play it. Thank You Devs
