Good cosy game with interesting puzzles and story.
Absolutely loved this game! A cozy feel good game with lovable characters!
Trigger Warning: Furries. This game contains anthropomorphic animal characters.
This is a furry centric mystery/VN game on the Nintendo Switch, and a poor console port indeed. Incredibly long, badly written and hard to skip VN scenes accompany the protagonist, a female rodent (edit: The developer wants us to believe their furry art is that of a goat.. I'm not judging, but it's not great art if you can't easily tell), on a journey through an Italian villa that turns into Frog Detective meets Stardew Valley, only worse than both. You'll do a bunch of trite and pointless minigames, many of which seem to be an imaginationless attempt from the developer to convince the audience this is a game instead of just a badly written furry fan-fiction. The plot follows said rodent through what starts out as a crime mystery then devolves into a poorly written fan-fiction about magic spells and the supernatural. Just when you were hoping for a charming slice of life, only with all the charm removed because it's a furry fan-fiction. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. There's no voice acting either, it's all grunty "Simlish". We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. This is a very poor quality console port. The game hasn't been patched in 6 months and still contains some softlocks and other serious bugs. Translations into English are in some places poor or missing. Google Translate should not be used for game localization (I assume that's what they did). Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time and money, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. PC gamers will be insulted by the demand from the developer that a console peasant children's toy controller should be used, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for, and must never, under any circumstances dictate to gamers how their games are to be experienced. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Another defect in the game caused by the console-peasant-centric design is the intolerably bad camera controls. Mouselook is badly decoupled from movement, and control of the viewing angles is deliberately outside of reasonable control from the user. This defect springs from the limitations of inferior console peasant children's toy gamepads, but on PC we don't have this limitation due to KB+M controls... however, the developer deliberately chose to arrogantly foist this handicap onto PC gamers. Out of spite, or laziness, it's unclear, regardless, once more console peasants and console devs have made gaming worse for everyone. Those technical flaws drag this game well below the minimum quality standards expected of a modern PC game. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? On Your Tail has the preposterous price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. For comparison, the $20 asking price for this game could get you games adapted far better for PC, like "The Outer Wilds", "Yakuza 0" or "Red Dead Redemption 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
A charming little adventure game that takes you to a small, sleepy coastal town in Liguria. I especially loved the Italian flair. The mystery storyline was okay. If you’re not expecting a graphical masterpiece and enjoy adventure games, I can definitely recommend it. PS: The cooking minigame is the absolute worst thing ever. It's the only thing I can really say anything negative about.
An exceptional game that will make you feel like you're spending the summer in a small Italian town out of time. Note to developers: AVAIA RAGAZZI QUESTO GIOCO E' TROPPO BELLO PER AVERE DEI PROBLEMI STUPIDI: GLI OBIETTIVI SI SBLOCCANO A CASO E LAGGA QUANDO CAMBI ZONA DELLA CITTA'. NON CI CREDO CHE IN UN ANNO NON AVETE TROVATO UNA SOLUZIONE. 8/10 (you can kiss girls)
Honestly and genuinely loved this game! It was so engaging and heartwarming. While I regret cheating a bit using a guide for the later detective and interrogation challenges, I was so invested in the amazing story, I didn't want my frustration to tarnish my love for it. It has been a while that I've played a game that made me happy and sad and on the verge of tears, and I loved every second of it. Definitely going back to replay and fully finish the game and its achievements. One may look at this as a furry game, and as a furry myself, totally agree. But it is a game for everyone that enjoys a awesome and powerful story. Thank you devs for your awesome work in producing such a masterpiece, and creating a game for the mind, heart and soul.
Good vibes, chill gameplay, great design. A very nice cozy game overall.
Incredibly charmed by this game! I'm loving the characters and art and music and scenery. Only slight downsides are some camera foibles and some not-quite-perfect bits of translation in the English version, but those are easy enough to overlook. This is a great time so far <3
