The combat is reasonably fleshed out with multiple weapon varieties to try, there’s plenty of secrets to find, the calligraphy mechanic is innovative, and the artstyle and music make for an excellent vibe; but the game is held back from greatness by its mostly shallow dungeons, weak boss fights, and a painful overabundance of inane, unskippable dialogue. 6.5/10 -- Still worth playing, if one can look past the aforementioned flaws and very slow start.

Beautiful game, unplayable even though my pc can handle other games from the same year of release and the settings never save the options I choose. You cannot tab out of the game without it changing to window mode and changing resolution, you cannot change it back to full screen unless you return to the main menu, which unless you're near a save point will undo all progress you've made.
