Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty

The game goes from a fun and well designed puzzle platformer, to having you mindlessly walk around interacting with objects, to becoming a combat game where the enemies stand around being completely useless while you kill them by standing still holding down 2 buttons. Also horrible controls with an extremely exaggerated momentum system, an improvement over the ps1 version, but still deaths shouldn't happen cause you pushed a button for 0.6sec or 0.4sec instead of the required 0.5 seconds The game is heavily story based, with a unique and interesting story told at the expense of making 2/3 of the gameplay bland, so I only recommend this game to players that enjoy story based games.

10 years later i finally come back to play this game to continue where i left off in my Oddworld 100% marathon, and coming back i do not remember the remake being like this I feel like the aura of the original has been lost with a piss filter and bloom attached to it and it is incredibly bright for a game that's in a very dark setting, Abe's animations looks sluggish when he runs in the first cutscene to the delivery of his lines not being as good Controlling Abe in this is like a snails pace, there is no crazy movement tech in this one and you are very slow why in the original you were zooming if you knew your way around, and i hate the camera angles, why on gods name did they do this, just keep it a still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera, we don't need this weird cinematic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because half the time i miss jumps and get timing incredibly wrong because the angle is screwed. And i will say again i do not remember this game being like this, it's like it suddenly changed also controller for steam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, you have to bind everything which is annoying because half the buttons don't work My only gripe with this game is i get they want a 1 to 1 remake but i would've loved extended cutscenes like the new ones did, they did not need to rush it like how the PS1 did, like they aren't limited at all just make them longer or do something new I like the game though and kinda wish it wasn't made in 2015 and they could've done more with this 9/10 - Quick save, Load Quick save? go to menu, load quicksave? press it, are you sure you want to load the quicksave? MF YES

this is my favourite game of all time. I first played the og one several times between the ages of 8 and 12, then started it again at 22, and finally played this one back to back at 25. it's just as good as I remember, and it will always be my most recommended game. the actual gameplay is amazing. the story is great. the mechanics are very fun. there are some "puzzles" and they're just the right amount of tricky. the actual game is also so so so beautiful, and I absolutely love all the scenery in it. I love this game so much I could cry 😭😭😭 please if you haven't played it yet - DO IT IMMEDIATELY !!!
