Tried playing it, got to the part where you have to push the log across (literally like 2 minutes in if that) and she just runs against it... It won't move at all. So uninstalling and never playing again. Waste of time.
OddPlanet, developed and published by Indievision, is a side-scrolling atmospheric adventure that blends platforming, light survival elements, and environmental storytelling into a compact indie experience. The game places players in control of a young girl who crash-lands on a mysterious alien world, far from home and surrounded by unfamiliar life forms. What initially appears to be a serene and visually striking planet quickly reveals itself to be dangerous and unforgiving, setting the stage for a journey defined by caution, isolation, and quiet tension. The core gameplay revolves around traditional 2D platforming mechanics. Players guide the protagonist through a series of environments filled with environmental hazards, predatory creatures, and unstable terrain. There is no emphasis on combat; instead, survival depends on observation and careful movement. Jump timing, positioning, and learning enemy behavior are critical to progress. Because the character lacks offensive abilities, encounters with hostile wildlife often require avoidance rather than confrontation. This design choice reinforces vulnerability and amplifies the sense of being a small figure in a vast, hostile ecosystem. Exploration plays a meaningful role in shaping the experience. The levels are not sprawling open worlds but are structured in ways that encourage careful traversal and environmental awareness. The alien landscape shifts between lush natural areas and more desolate, ominous zones, each presenting new visual themes and obstacles. Subtle environmental cues guide players forward, and moments of calm are frequently interrupted by sudden threats, maintaining a steady tension throughout the journey. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the atmosphere to settle in before introducing new dangers. Visually, OddPlanet is one of those titles where art direction carries much of the experience. The hand-painted backgrounds are rich in color and detail, contrasting soft, dreamlike scenery with shadowy foreground silhouettes. Lighting is used effectively to create depth and mood, often casting the protagonist in stark contrast against glowing alien flora or darkened caverns. The aesthetic evokes comparisons to other atmospheric indie platformers, though it maintains its own identity through its vibrant color palette and alien environmental design. Sound design complements the visuals with ambient audio and subtle musical cues. Instead of constant background music, the game often relies on environmental sounds to build immersion. Wind, distant animal calls, and subtle atmospheric effects enhance the feeling of solitude. When music does appear, it tends to underline key emotional or suspenseful moments rather than dominate the scene. This restrained audio approach strengthens the sense of isolation and vulnerability that defines much of the game. Narratively, OddPlanet tells its story through minimal dialogue and internal reflections from the protagonist. Rather than delivering exposition-heavy cutscenes, it relies on implication and mood. The girl’s thoughts occasionally surface, offering glimpses into her fear, confusion, and determination. Much of the storytelling is left to player interpretation, conveyed through environmental design and tone. This understated approach can be compelling for players who appreciate subtle narratives, though those seeking a clearly defined plot arc may find it sparse. However, the experience is not without its flaws. Some platforming sections demand precise timing, and the controls can occasionally feel less responsive than ideal. Because the protagonist is fragile and checkpoints are spaced at intervals, moments of frustration may arise when mistakes lead to repeated attempts. Additionally, the overall length of the game is relatively short, limiting the depth of both narrative and mechanical development. Once completed, there is little incentive for replay beyond revisiting the atmosphere. Ultimately, OddPlanet is a mood-driven indie platformer that prioritizes atmosphere and artistic presentation over complex mechanics or expansive storytelling. It succeeds in crafting a visually memorable alien world and maintaining a consistent sense of tension through vulnerability-based gameplay. While its brevity and occasional control limitations prevent it from reaching the heights of the genre’s most polished entries, it remains an evocative and thoughtfully designed experience. For players drawn to contemplative side-scrollers that emphasize exploration and mood over action, OddPlanet offers a distinctive, if imperfect, journey through an unfamiliar and haunting landscape. Rating: 6/10

Mroczny klimat i tona zręcznościowych zagadek. Rodzima produkcja, warto.

Very, very poor Limbo clone. Terrible animation - no smooth transitioning between motions, and the character often phases through solid objects to get to the next keyframe Wonky controls - when interacting with objects unless you're standing in exactly the right spot the game will completely ignore you. You even have to be facing in the correct direction for things like climbing onto a platform above your head, which makes no sense. Runs terribly - get about 10fps on a computer which is easily capable of running it. Badly translated.
