ABANDON, do not buy.
Game as potential but as a small time developer of a similar style game, I would highly suggest devs fix it so that enemies target the nearest enemy rather than firing randomly or just in the direction of the player's movement. It's pretty frustrating the game looks really nice and could be fun if the devs focused on making some small changes. won't return it cause I look forward to changes you feel me?
Fun enough Vamp Survivors type game but appears to be abandoned
Well put together. Generous progression rate for upgrades. -Played on Deck
While the game is clearly abandoned I give it a Thumbs Up. Mostly because I had my fun playing Ocelot Sunrise. It is sad that this game never finished for unknown reason. Atm the content is only 2 map (desert and ice) and 2 character (they are very different atleast). The game also bring Meta progress and unlockable weapons. Gameplay can be janky at times with useful and less useful weapons, but have its own setting and some cool ideas. I recommend this game, but only at good sale.
This is the first bullet hell game that presents a good level of difficulty from the start. Each character has different skills, not just weapons, making it very different from other games. The game's art is also very well done, and it is updated frequently, making it very promising. I bought it recently and can't stop playing.
EDIT: As of 3 months after release and into the new year, no updates on the roadmap, or any at all have been published. No word or updates since the end of November. I'm left to believe this has been abandoned. For the price you can get plenty of better, actually full of content games. I'll change it if this changes, but I suspect that isn't the case. First off, I really love the aesthetic for the game - The intro cutscene and the comic-style vibe it had going, as well as the little Kaboom or Dash logos are very fun to look at, and visually pleasing. I also think the art for the weapons and creatures are very well done, when usually this genre can leave a lot to be desired when it comes to that. I've had a few issues in regards to extracting in the first stage, but there are some really fun and cool ideas here, like the starting character Quetza's passive ability where dashing on to the mine does a burst of damage and attracts in gems (exp). I will say the difficulty spike that hits at 23 minutes in is quite harsh, to the point where elites will start becoming every enemy, and this can catch you off guard very quickly. However, there's a very solid base here, a pretty large variety of weapons and some cool ideas. I was thinking about it as I played, and given the second unlockable character's primary weapon (The whip), I was wondering if it would be possible to add a strafe button for this game? This way you can run backwards while continuing to face the other direction, making quite a few weapons in this game much easier and more effective to use. I think if this were added shift would be very comfortable and this would make many weapons much easier to use. All in all, a fun survivors game that I think is more than worth the pricetag even on launch day. It's 5 dollars, and I enjoyed playing it more than games I've bought for 5 times that. :) Give it a shot if you like Survivors-esque games. I may return to update this review as updates are released.
Indie precioso y gran descubrimiento.
