About
As the once-great Roman Empire falls into decadence and decay, you lead a small band of citizens in search of new lands hoping to build Nova Roma – a bastion for all that was once good in the Empire. Starting from a humble village, you must appease the gods with grand temples, sate your citizens’ many needs, and build a society that will be the envy of the world for millennia to come.

A wise city planner knows how to harness the world around them. Erect massive dams and aqueducts to control the flow of water as you reshape the land into artificial watersheds and reservoirs, paying close attention to how your actions impact soil fertility, or how a particularly rainy season might flood your city. Seek distant resource deposits and build infrastructure to transport raw materials and processed goods across massive stretches of untamed territory. Will you strike a delicate balance between the growing urban sprawl of your city and the risks of rapid expansion? Or will your hubris risk the wrath of the gods and nature itself?

Contend with a growing list of needs and desires as more people flock to your city – from pottery and wine to bread and games, it is your responsibility to keep the people happy and safe. Watch them grow into artisans, gladiators and thespians, and guide them through life as they spend their days toiling, and their nights enjoying the fruits of their labor.

As you consider matters of taxation and technological advancement, do not forget the powers that stand above you - build grand temples to the gods, avoiding their wrath and seeking their blessings to bolster your capabilities and ensure the continued prosperity of Nova Roma.
Featuring intricate water and weather simulations and the ever-present threat of divine intervention, Nova Roma explores the cultural, and social trials of the era. Take charge of your small Roman town and grow it into a bustling metropolis that will stand the test of time!

1. didn't i buy this game like 10 years ago 2. It says it has sandbox/creative mode. It's not. Its still the main game loop. Being able to edit the map would be great. 3. Defense options are so bad compared to the invasions. 4. The water system and dams is a really neat feature. but viaduct placement is so particular it ends up all over the place. 5. Resources locations are few. 6. Animations every time i click a temple, needlessly slow. 7. Auto trading at the docks is poor. Cant use any global resource numbers, only whats in the dock. 8. The store page says you enact laws. Cant see that anywhere. 9. When a building gets destroyed, good luck finding it...or knowing. 10. or knowing when your getting invaded until the enemies are in the area you're looking at. 11. Stone masons are a pain in the ass. 12. Grand temple bonuses are meh. This feels like kingdom and castles 1.3, shouldn't that be your alpha? things like upgrades, decent combat, trading are really basic. Not a bad game, but not ready. Hence its an alpha, and hence i still give a positive review.
pretty good
:)
in the saturated city building sim market, it's near the top
very good for early access, looking forward to full release
game has a good foundation but due to nature of early access its have some problems may biggest problem with game is gods they dont do much anything (i only find vulcan useful and little neptun) and they demand lot of things constructing big temples on small islands is a hassle and take so much space my second problem is terraforming around rocks/deposits i am sure they will implement some kind of removal tool for this moving to my nitpicks lack of stairs bridges not connecting with roads not a way to deal with early deaths lack of big quarries and mines
this is a great game i would recommend this to literally anyone even if u don't like this genre BUT in MY option kingdoms and castles is still better but either way imma put many more hours into this game and you should too
got this game yesterday randomely and really enjoyed it and ended up playing for like 4 hours straight. its fun and easy to get into without the constant hectic nature of other city builders. I enjoy the fact that you can change terrain around and make rivers and bridges and hills aswell. I hope this game continues to be developed because i havent had this much fun in a city builder game for so long
