About

This game is a Strategic game on the Eastern Front of World War II.
It is a digital port from the famous and eponym boardgame, No retreat!, designed by Carl Paradis, which retells the story of the titanic struggle between the invading armies of Nazi Germany versus Communist Russia during WW2 at a player-friendly and manageable level of scope and difficulty. With only 70 Army/Front sized counters for the whole campaign, and with very low stacking, it’s a quick-playing yet realistic affair that favours the strategic and offensive-minded player.
The moderate complexity of the game, the light number of armies and the contained size of the map allows easier onboarding, fast play and fun experience.

In a skillfully blended collation of classic hex-based wargaming and modern card-driven simulations, No Retreat: The Russian Front stays truly story-centric, providing the proper feel of sweeping maneuvers, exploitation and encirclements across the vast steppes and forests of Russia.
With a simple-yet-innovative economic model, players will also feel the growing might and sophistication of the Russian’s Red Army, and the degradation of the once-invincible German Wehrmacht, over the epic four year sweep of time that this merciless campaign was fought.
See the Axis hordes deeply invade Russia and encircle ill-prepared Soviet units.
Watch the Red army resist and slowly acquire experience to finally push back the Germans up to Berlin !
Each turn is alight with intriguing on-board challenges plus the surprise of 55 cards hand Events as players vie to win in one of three different ways.

This is not the type of games that I usually play, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised and I'm hooked! Really engaging & fun gameplay loop. I've played a few hours and I can't wait to play more.

interesting game, still in beta, careful with click/move don't be casual.
I love seeing tabletop games brought to digital form with solid bot opponents so I can play anytime. Even better when they stay true to the original instead of piling on unnecessary 3D effects. This is a pure, faithful digital version of a classic—and that’s exactly what I wanted. I never had the chance to play the physical game, and this finally made it possible. Absolutely thrilled. Thank you!
I played a fair amount of this game using the GMT title (and the one before GMT made it pretty) My son and I have had some memorable games when he was still a kid. (He 23 now) This seems to work quite well. A few things with the interface I needed to figure out, and I missed the turn record chart and some of the other odds and ends that appear on the game board of the paper copy. All that said, the game plays well and I found no glitches. I beat the AI on turn 9, but did not handicap it so I suspect it will give you a good game with a bit of tweaking. Also. although my memory might be faulty I think this PC version added some new cards, and they are good additions. Keep at it! For something this new I am impressed. Thanks all.
there is a bug: the German Battle Group cannot be deployed
Es fabuloso. Se juega perfecto por pbme. Lo gestiona todo el programa. Para viejos wargameros.
Extremely faithful reproduction of the board game. Very, very good introductory wargame for someone teaching someone else how to play. This is THE Eastern Front gateway drug, LOL! I own the board game. Love it, and this makes it easy to play in one sit down.
Faithful adaptation from the boardgame. There are not too many UGOIGO wargames to play around here. This is a truthful adaptation of the praised No retreat game. Even the AI is quite good, so I definetively recommend it
