Reviews
This game has glaring issues that scream poor leadership. It feels like the developer tried to copy FromSoftware's homework and GGG's homework while failing to make the combination cohesive or polished. The worst aspects of the game are the parts where there was no prior template to copy; the biggest offenders here are the controls and combat. Both of these components are completely unsure of what they want to be. In the case of the controls, the game will generously confirm my prior claim by recommending totally different control schemes depending on build choice. Goodluck with muscle memory when swapping builds. The best aspects of the game are the art direction and narrative. The story and its setting aren't anything fantastically creative, but it is obvious that some lower-level employees put in manpower until the game looked good.
good thai sup
The game has some nice parts like the combat feels generally good. There are some major problems though. At least on controller there is no dedicated jump button. This is a very big issue due to the fact that the maps are very vertical and it is very easy to get hurled off a cliff when you do a quick sprint to get out of the way of an attack or to reposition. This is extra brutal in the roguelite mode where there are lots of voids where even if you have an extra life it kills you anyway. There are some other minor issues but until that main issue gets fixed I would recommend avoiding this.
if you like unfinished stories, unoptimized games, dialogue bloat, and overall a worse souls experience than any soulslike i’ve ever played, give it a try. i know the 1.0 update it coming in a few months but no amount of content will fix the games janky core flaws
Not even done with the game yet, but a true 9/10. Top down Dark souls without the super bs of negated progress in dark souls =3. definitely a graphically demanding game, but worth playing even if your frames get below 40 fps. The cutscenes feel like they're worthy of an animated series. Curious what the 1.0 update will be in October, and will definitely do multiple playthroughs <3
