About
Devil Spire Falls is a procedurally generated, open-world, hardcore action-RPG built around dynamic and interconnected systems and mechanics.
Create your own unique character and delve into this dark fantasy world where the actions of heroes past caused the first Devil Spire to fall, and spread an accursed fog throughout the land... And the monsters that lurked within.
Explore the overworld, conquer dungeons, become the town hero, raze every village to the ground, hunt monsters, slay bosses, slaughter bandits or nomad camps, kill that merchant, run away, build your own home, gather your party, go on quests, farm, fish, mine, hunt, tame... The possibilities are endless!
In this world where nothing is predetermined... Everything is permitted. No character is so important it can't be killed. No dungeon is made to be an easy or even fair challenge. No obstacle can't be smartly circumvented or brute-forced through. You will enter a world of its own, unconcerned with your well-being, and unprotected against your machinations! And of course, your choices are permanent, and they matter.
Fully customizeable character creation, including facial features, with several Races, Classes and Origins, backed by a deep, real RPG system with 7 attributes, skills, perks, equipment, magic and more!
18 unique weapon classes with their own special properties! From swords to flails, from bows to muskets, and from throwing knifes to javelins. You're sure to find one that suits your tastes! Or just use your own fists and feet!
35 Skills with 9 Perks each! Unlock special attacks, acquire new actions, get rid of limiters, learn how to craft mighty weapons, build your own house, double-jump, or simply unlock a door and disarm traps, etc. With enough training, your powers will know no limits!
Create your own spells with over 100 effects, from buffing to burning, invisibility to telekinesis, shrinking to transforming... There's enough magicks to fill an entire library with arcane grimoires!
A deep combat system with several unique attacks, blocking and parrying, dodges, kicks, and much more. You must use every tool at your disposal to outmaneuver your enemies, conserve your stamina, leave them stunned and confused, and emerge victorious!
Physics and environmental shenanigans: Throw items at enemies, kick them off cliffs, build your own bridges and stairs, sneak past them while snuffing out lights, use the traps and whatever else is around you to come out on top!
Climb anything, swim to the deepest depths, leap over mountains, fly above the clouds, tame and ride a horse... or learn how to run faster than them. There are many ways to traverse this vast world, and reach every room in the treacherous dungeons. Just how many secrets lie in the far reaches of the world, or behind a secret wall?
In-depth NPC interaction system: Trade items, chit-chat, join factions, do quests, get trained, ask for information, recruit them to your party... not to mention all the interactions outside civil conversation like pick-pocketing, murder, induced coma, and other accidents!
An endless amount of items, activities, interactables and things to build or destroy, all interlinked and working with each other! Build your own base, grow your own crops, gather, mine and fish, or just destroy anything that stands in your path. The choice is yours!
While you have the freedom to do whatever it is you desire... The Urge to conquer a newly risen Devil Spire does not leave your mind. Will you repeat the errors of the past, discover the truths behind the massive towers, or simply take their power as your own? You now have the entire world to explore, conquer, and scour for answers!

This is such a great game and deserves more recognition! it's just like playing Morrowind or Daggerfall just with some modern ease of life sprinkled in, and with its own identity. The game is also getting updated basically every other week with new content voted on by the Discord. I will admit though it did take me a few tries to get hooked on the game, but once it did hook me and i figured out how to do things i was playing for HOURS in one sitting. It is challenging at the start of the game but you always become an unkillable god with any build after playing with a character for a few hours. Its not all cupcakes and rainbows though the game does get boring and repetitive after a while and the novelty wears off, but its the same way the two week Skyrim faze feels, you will come back to it after a while. It can be buggy so treat this game more as an open beta than Early Access. Either way please get this game if you are even remotely into old fashion RPGs like Daggerfall or use this game as an introduction to the genre.
Honestly, no other game hits quite like this. It completely scratches an itch I didn’t even realize I had, and I’m just totally content, like I finally found my game. I would honestly trade my entire Steam library just to keep this feeling going. A big part of what makes it so good is how satisfying it is to simply figure things out. From gathering resources and crafting to interacting with unpredictable NPCs, everything feels unknown in the best possible way. You’re entirely on your own, and watching your skills progress while slowly unraveling the world is incredibly rewarding. It’s the kind of game where you approach a strange village or a dark dungeon and have absolutely no clue what’s waiting for you, which makes exploring feel like a true adventure. Even though I usually hate combat and get easily terrified in games, the mystery of this world makes me want to dive into danger anyway. The atmosphere is dreamlike and surreal, giving everything this strange, almost unreal quality that most games just don’t capture anymore. Anyone who misses the days of true discovery and immersive, atmospheric mystery is going to love this game.

It has a lot of potential The first hours are peak enjoyment. You have no idea of what you are doing, what you can do, and what you are supposed to do. Every small discovery is monumental and progressing feels awesome. Doing quests for npcs, finally being able to see how much money things are worth, buying items from people, crafting. You start to be part of the world and understand how things work. Getting a base of operations running, questing is now consistently doable and you have clear goals. its really fun! And then you start levelling up a lot, upgrading your gear, and suddently enemies are too weak for your current power. Its kinda funny seeing bandits yield before you land an attack, they know you are not to be messed with. Time to move to more dangerous areas i guess... Although there are higher level zones with better rewards, the difficulty barely increases. Out of 21 hours played the last time i felt real danger of dying was 18 hours earlier. The only time i actually died was drowning after sleeping inside a temple lmao. Enemy variety and AI is too dumb to be a threat aswell. Their attacks are too slow and telegraphed to be a concern for example. You outscale the whole game way too early. I suppose that raising difficulty would help with this, but the standard difficulty is way too easy in that case. And by the time you realize that this is a problem its already too late to bother. The procedual generation is nice, my only gripe is with Town generation, as you'll have 55 banks, 55 blacksmiths, 55 taverns. And then when you have a quest in one of them, well good luck. By the time you find where the NCP is (by asking other people), you already forgot where the quest giver is located xD Its a great game worth the price, but far from perfect. I trust that in a couple of years it will be much better than it already is.
it begins as a normal ish game. then you learn to crack that **** open and exploit the everloveing ♥♥♥♥ out of everything to achieve godhood. I don't even need a weapon my unarmed skill is so high I can uppercut a goblin across the map
I spawned as a naked obese fairy, I entered a temple and instantly died due to a security force of 10,000 atheist werewolves. 10/10
this will become my new skyrim where i want to start a new character every 3 months, so much fun you can legit do whatever the hell you feel like. it takes a while to learn some of the mechanics and especially how the menus work (still unsure of alot) but its a very fun trial an error to see what happens. you can run this on literally any pc and its like 500mb, so worth the money the developer deserves all the praise an look forward to more things being added
The first real RPG open world. you can do whatever you want
I can't recommend this EA game as it just ate a bunch of raw materials when it crashed. It only has one save per world, so there is no older autosave to go back too. It looks like the world saves and the player saves are in separate files, so the chest I removed materials from apparently saved but my player inventory and magic bag inventory didn't. While there is a single .bak file for the player file the time and size are the same as the primary file, so that's of no help in this case. I'm not really a fan of the single save game approach as it doesn't allow you to go back and correct simple mistakes, but if a game is going to go that route it has to be technically flawless and never lose or corrupt your save data. This game is not that. The game has some pretty unique mechanics and I had fun exploring them, but it needs to bake more on the technical side.
