About

From the acclaimed team behind Blasphemous, NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound successfully unites the classic lore and gameplay of the Tecmo-developed (now KOEI TECMO GAMES) NINJA GAIDEN series from the 8-bit era with the depth and intensity of the modern 3D entries. The best of both eras come together to create an epic and thrilling adventure.
Our story begins when Ryu Hayabusa journeys to America to honor his father's will. While he is away, the barrier between the human and the demon worlds suddenly shatters, unleashing a terrifying army upon the Hayabusa Village, which now faces an unprecedented threat in Ryu's absence.
To stand against this new threat, Kenji Mozu, a young ninja from the Hayabusa Village, rises to the challenge! Trained by Ryu, he fights fiercely but soon finds himself in desperate straits. Forced to tap into forbidden power, Kenji sets aside centuries of animosity and forms an alliance with the sinister Black Spider Clan, convinced that combining their souls and skills is the only way to protect the world out of the Demon Lord's grasp!
Combining old-school feeling with modern precision, NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound retains the pick-up-and-play action of the classic titles, while introducing new layers of depth.
Alongside the new protagonist, Kenji Mozu, is the skilled assassin Kumori. Take control of these two powerful ninjas simultaneously and unravel their interconnected stories.
Use the Ninja Fusion to unleash devastating abilities and obliterate your enemies. NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound features impeccable mechanics that are easy to learn but hard to truly master, challenging the skills of even the most seasoned fans of the NINJA GAIDEN series!
Step into a reimagined version of the classic NINJA GAIDEN universe, brought to life through stunning, meticulously crafted visuals. Every enemy is recreated with a level of detail that was once impossible.
The brutal, nostalgia-filled aesthetic of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of modern pixel art, making every battle a feast for the eyes.

This game makes me want a tag for games with "Great Pixel Art" - because the art here is on another level. The music is fine, but I dont hear any bangers like in the first (NES) game.
This is a thumbs in the middle for me but objectively it is a thumbs up! This was the last Game that I played in my Ninja Gaiden Journey (check the Reviews for each Game of the Master Collection, Yaiba - Ninja Gaiden Z, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Ninja Gaiden 4). Let me start by saying that I actually expected to really like this Game but I kind of didn't. Maybe I expected something else, but I was a little bit disappointed. Also the Game is not bad, but it is too oldschool. This is basically Ninja Gaiden NES if it came out for the SNES. It is brutal (I know, as it should be) and there is lots of BS going on. Let's start but I will keep it short. I really like Blasphemous 1 and 2 and thus I like The Game Kitchen. And they delivered something good again. Objectively. But keep your expectations in check. This is not like Shinobi, modernized and thus kind of a walk in the park. This can be really challenging. The pixel art is very good again but I feel like they put more effort into Blasphemous. It was only little things like the hands when climbing and it all felt a little "not so pretty as Blasphemous". Still, very good. The music is great, really sounds like a Game from the SNES era. Story is just here. Like every Ninja Gaiden Game it's kinda stupid/whatever but you don't play those Games for the story anyways. Then there is the Gameplay. It is really simple. Just like in the olden days. But in later levels you will get swarmed with BS from left and right and it can get annoying. Even though this is still easier than Ninja Gaiden NES, simply for the fact that you have relatively fair checkpoints everywhere. Also the bosses are well designed... And here are my biggest gripes: The controls didn't feel super smooth. The jumping could feel imprecise, wall jumping wasn't implemented very well either. There was one section for example, where I just couldn't reach a skull. I knew what to do and how to do it, but it took me forever to get it because most of the time I jumped too short. But yeah, basically you go from one linear level to another, pure sidescrolling action, cool setpieces, good music. There were also secret levels to find (I admit, I only played one because the second one that I started already felt like "that BS again"), there are 3 challenges for every level and a handful of collectibles per level. After finishing the Game, you unlock Hard Mode. And I know, this is basically remixed levels, stronger enemies, etc. But I have to be honest, I am exhausted and don't even want to give this a try. But the content is there if you want to play it. The Game took me around 5 hours to beat for a first playthrough (as I said, with Hard Mode, replaying levels for challenges and collectibles - which I did a few times - and with the secret levels, you can get more out of it), 19/36 Achievements. So yeah, I guess it just wasn't for me. Maybe not bad overall, maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a game like this, maybe it's the weather. But this is why I said, objectively it is a well made Game and thus the thumbs up instead of a thumbs down... Alright, now I take my leave, I have a huge backlog to play...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Short sweet to the point. I couldn't ask for much more - Bought it on sale - not really interested in infinite playthrough potential or anything. Felt like a NG game, so I'm glad to have given it a whirl.
A very fun action-platformer. Difficulty feels fair and balanced. Every death is just a practice run. Flawless runs certainly feel doable and seem to be encouraged. I was able to finish the game in just under 10 hours. That being said, I don't feel the game is lacking content. I wasn't bored while playing this game. Game looks good and runs great on Steam Deck LCD. No tinkering was required. Wait for a sale and pick up NINJA GAIDEN: RAGEBOUND!
Reminded me why i do not like platforming games
Most of my scores are B but the game is action packed and very stylish anyway!
The art Is nice but the game emphasizes plow-ahead platforming rather than exploration or combat, and that's not fun for me. I don't understand why combat is part of this game at all if everything dies in one hit. I fought two bosses and they were pretty cool, but the levels to get to them were dreary and repetitive.
