Gute Game!
Absolute sweat

This game is so cool, its everything i want in a game, brutality, edgyness, fast pace combat and cool mechanics, my only issue? THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DODGE!!! Dodging in this game SUCKS so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much
This was my first Ninja Gaiden game, so I came in with no nostalgia or prior expectations. Overall, I enjoyed it — but it has some real, hard-to-ignore problems.
Level Design
The level design is dull. Most locations within the same region are visually indistinguishable, leaning heavily on reused assets that make environments feel generic and low-effort. The parkour rail sections and wind-gliding segments are the worst offenders — they feel meaningless, add no depth to traversal, and are executed so poorly that the game would genuinely be better off without them.
Graphics
The game looks great. I wouldn't call it poorly optimized exactly, but it's surprisingly resource-heavy even at the lowest settings. That said, the cutscenes are high quality and there are plenty of great screenshot opportunities.
Combat
Yakumo comes with 5 weapons (6 with DLC), but the balance is off. On normal difficulty, experimenting with all of them is fun — but as the game gets harder, it becomes clear that only 2–3 weapons are genuinely viable. The rest lack anything distinctive enough to make them worth using in a pinch. The combat techniques suffer from the same problem: the vast majority feel useless in practice and are never the right call in a real fight. Compared to something like DMC5, the move design feels underdeveloped and poorly thought out.
Difficulty
Master Ninja difficulty is, frankly, broken — and I'm far from alone in that opinion. Getting one- or two-shot is fine for the hardest setting, but the real problem is that enemies will snipe or dash at you from completely off-camera with zero warning and no time to react. The camera only makes this worse — it's genuinely terrible. When you activate a ninjutsu as Ryu or use an Ultimate Technique, enemies can hit you the moment you exit the animation with no recovery window — not even enough time to block. At that point, surviving is less about skill and more about RNG.
