This might actually be the worst game I have ever played... Chapter 4 genuinely ruined my whole week and the ending made me kick a backpack across my room
The Worst Game Since E.T.
What else can be said what has already been said of this game? I thought it would be gamer outrage due to the hideous characters, but that was just a small facet. I simply had this game from the 'Pandora's Box' Bundle. What, you think I'd go out of my way to buy it standalone? This truly is the worst game ever made. E.T. for the Atari is to be dethroned. This is pure and simple, psychological torture that tricks the brain into feeling actual physical pain. The writers should be lauded, not by the videogame community, but by interrogators around the world for inventing a new advanced interrogation technique. Move over water drip torture, there's a new method to getting information. Every episode felt like it was trying to outdo the embarrassment it can dish out to the player by the second. It is not an exaggeration. Every word that is spouted, every little movement, is horrendous. One character's mocap animation is so bad it looks like a GMOD animation. The characters are flat and one-note, it's like that one friend who keeps latching on to a year-old joke and repeats it ad infinitum. I have rolled my eyes so much during this they nearly got lost behind my eyelids. I truly believe nothing else can phase me anymore as this was the rock bottom of cringe inducing, embarrassing footprint of videogame history. Unless you relish yourself a masochist, don't play it!
Absolute trash game. waste of 60+ hours. There's no fast foward fuction on multiple playthoughs. The dialog is not funny, interesting or original. You can barely distinguish between multiple playthoughs to get the alternate endings. If you think it'd be an easy 100%. You're mistaken. Take a hard pass on this garbage.
This game sucks I wouldn't recommend it even if it was free
I'll start off with saying that no, I do not recommend this game if you want to play a "good" game. It is by far the weakest addition to the Borderlands franchise, however, that doesn't mean it's as terrible as some other people might say. It's just not good, but not terrible. It is an insult to the first Telltale game, it takes the mechanics from that and somehow messes it up (I think I spent more time watching the game than I did playing it). The characters are annoying (even more annoying than your usual Borderlands characters), I only really liked 2 of the characters, and one of them wasn't playable. The choices themselves seem hit and miss as to what the "consequences" are. You need a guide if you want a really good run. None of the choices really jump out as to what should be selected to improve teamwork, trust, belief, etc. It's a mess. Storywise, it isn't particularly good, it's an adequate story set between Borderlands 3 and 4, and may have events occurring/characters appearing that turn up in Borderlands 4 (as of posting I haven't played 4). Now I will say some moments did make me laugh, but they were few and far. Now if you're just wanting story-lore and you can get this for a really low price on sale, I'd suggest doing so, but don't expect much other than lore
I can not recommend this game. Unlikeable main characters, comedic timing is off, bad action scene momentum. Frans constant sexual harassment. Logic holes. Characters suddenly go from dumb to downright idiotic for no reason. The mocap for one character is just awful. Forcing a boring mini-game on you over and over. Bad music selections. "Sounds like a personnel management problem". LOU13 was good, Stapleface was good, Rhys was ruined. Foopy is the star.
Creating a porn game where Handsome Jack and Rhys Strongfork f\/ck each other in every pose imaginable would've been more entertaining than this. No, seriously, I would gladly play that. The Greatest Hero on Pandora and his Special Boy have to have fun with each other for a change, right?
(I got this as a part of Pandora's box for, like, 2$. It's bad. Telltale did such a wonderful job for the game/universe they didn't know, while Gearbox made a game for their own characters where all the character development is gone. They literally hate their own players. Hey, Randy, how about retirement? You should have resigned before BL3, actually.) (At this point, I'd rather replay TFTBL with modern graphics. The most I can do with NTFTBL is around 10 minutes while I'm having breakfast. It's boring as hell.) UPD: Actually, can I give this multiple negative reviews from the same account? This is exceptionally bad. Went into my trash folder. You can't skip cutscenes, either, which makes it even worse, if that's even possible. The bar is... well, it's beyond low. UPD2: I refunded it. It's not worth it.
This game is categorized under horror games in my library.
I think my favorite part of the game was when everyone died for a brief moment in the last episode.
Honestly, this game does not get enough hate. Whoever did the writing must've been at most 4 years old and the jokes are worse than the worst dad jokes you have ever heard in your life. You barely play the game I can put down my controller for 15 minutes before I'm able to press 1 button then we're back to being afk again. Everything in this story is sooooooooooooooo dragged out that I'm convinced this game would fit in 1 episode instead of 5. I've never seen or played something so bad.
