Nature Game System

The game is very fun to play, but having only played the digital version, I find the rules to be a bit confusing. The tutorial could use improvement. At any rate, it is still enjoyable to play with my partner, and it's one that we return to frequently. The expansions add a lot to the game, especially Flight and Jurassic. The latter is especially fun, especially for people who love dinosaurs!

One of those board games that adds that extra content above the physical version to give you more to explore and enjoy. Well presented and you can also play it on Android or Steam with all the DLC you own.

I liked Evolution but love Nature even more! Definitely feels more accessible and interesting to me. The art is always amazing, of course. I can't wait to see what's next!

I can recommend this game if you have friends to play with, can join the regular multiplayer happy hours, or are okay with joining the official discord to find people to play with. The game is definitely worth the price now that Flight, Jurassic, and Arctic Tundra modules are included. I've played a lot of the physical version and the digital adaptation does a great job of keeping what makes the board game fun while removing some fiddly parts. Setup and scoring is instant, food management is easier (I love how it has auto feed to speed things up when there is enough food for everyone), the controls are intuitive, and all the information you need is easy to see. The artwork is lovely as usual from their games. I prefer to play with at least one of the modules as they add depth and encourage very different strategies without adding too much complexity. The only thing I don't really like is the menu UI, which feels a bit dated. I also find it weird that you can't earn ranking medals when playing online with friends (which is my preferred way to play digital board games). I also wish they would add the solo version from the physical game as it is more of a puzzle than playing against AI's, though the campaign does scratch some of this itch and can be very challenging.

I have been following the evolution series for a long time and even own the board game for the older game: Evolution. Nature is a really fun game, especially when you want to play something shorter. I have been playing it since release on mobile and can now play on a bigger screen too :) I am very excited for all future module releases and I can´t wait to see amazon rainforest next. Sometimes I do wish the games could be a little longer though. The original Evolution had 7-8 rounds per game and 5 rounds feels a little short sometimes.

Its predecessor, Evolution, was a novel and fun game, but, quite ironically, not designed to evolve with expansions, etc. Also, players that lost a species tended to be at quite a disadvantage trying to tutor up a new one amidst more well-developed competitor species. Nature has adroitly addressed both of these issues, with a modular design that encourages mix-and-match play. The base game is a bit limited, so while play is straightforward and snappy, without expansions, it could grow dull quickly. Not to fear, several modules are out already. Allowance is made for lost species to permit a more rapid "catch-up" for mid-game new entrants. The separate carnivore cards also help encourage more carnivore play. Just like in real life, a bit of carnivore action reduces the overall pressure on the food source (the watering hole), both by reducing those feeding from it, and offering alternative sources of food for others (like scavengers). It's a computerized board game, so it will not appeal to all. But for board gamers looking to connect remotely or sharpen up between game nights, it's well worth serious consideration. The game is fun and still growing with varying changeable modules.

Enorm leuk en gevarieerd spel. Geen enkele ronde is hetzelfde. Alleen jammer dat ik niet kan synchroniseren met Steam en Google Play.

Overall this is a great adaptation of the board game. It makes good updates to the Evolution rules and streamlines the gameplay. I just started playing and it only took a few minutes to get the hang of the controls and the layout. It worked well on the steam deck, but it would be nice to have more zoom in options beyond hovering over the cards.

There are some opinions that Nature compared to its predecessor Evolution is kind of bland without expansions. I would say it is a new approach at the same theme. The Standard Game offers a good learning curve that and the expansions offer some extra challange if needed. The Campaings are quite entertainig and i enyoj the little trivia bits you can get as a reward. I own the game on Steam and the Google Store, and provided you habe a Northstar Account your progress gets transferd. Wich is great. On the occasion i want to play online there are unfortunatly not many players availabe.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados con este juego. Por un lado mejora con respecto al evolution en la parte de que no se depende de cartas para hacerte carnivoro, pero por otro lado hay menos variedad de rasgos para tus animales. También es un paso positivo el que no es tan perjudicional el perder una especie debido a que vuelve al turno siguiente con lo que hubieras gastado.
