I had high hopes for this game, i love ssx 3 so much, and thoroughly enjoy kart racing games. I feel almost every aspect of this game doesn't quite hit the mark. I'm glad you were able to put out your first project and its totally playable. But it feels too dumbed down and it doesn't flow nearly as good as the old ssx games.

When I was a kid, there was this one game I loved renting the most. Snowboard Kids 2. It was like Mario Kart, but on snowboards. But as I grew up and got new consoles this kart snowboard hybrid game would never come back. It was just a mash up I wouldn't see again... Until I found Slopecrashers. This game brings back so many memories from my childhood days with these wacky little guys. While I wouldn't say it's as robust as the original snowboarding kids, it has plenty of fun challenges and enough unique ideas to stand on its own. Also you can snowboard on a pizza as a capybara so that's already a glowing thumbs up from me.

I expected (and was really looking forward to) a spiritual successor of Snowboard Kids. Instead I got a game that takes all the frustrating elements of Mario Kart (HEAVY reliance on items) and needlessly adds obligatory stunts and flips even in normal races to create one big messy snowboarding experience that sucks out all the fun that made the OG Snowboard Kids so great. The icing on the cake is a character progression system that just feels shoehorned in. Sorry, but this isn't it.

I do recommend this game... with the caveat that you understand this; This game is the dark souls of cute animal racing games. It's actual unbalanced ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The ai racers rubberband like they're you're shadow. That is, if you can even get ahead of them. You HAVE to spam manuals and spin jumps to get the small boosts in order to even keep up with the ai, let alone pass them. And God forbid if you make even a tiny mistake. And if you hate the blue shell in mario? Well ♥♥♥♥ you, because there are TWO blue shells in this game, for some reason. But they last longer than the blue shell in mario, because ♥♥♥♥ you harder. So the ai that is going to be in front of you half the race, is going to give you an enema as soon as you manage to get past them. It's cute though, and the controls are fun. The game has good bones. It's a mix of mario kart (which is sorely lacking on pc) and ssx tricky (which is lacking in modern gaming). There's also a fantastic arcade mode that let's you set the race rules, including the number of *LAPS!!!* I imagine this game is also really fun with friends rather than ai. Good base for a game, but it really needs some balancing. One and a half thumbs up.

2025/07/26追記： アップデートで挙動が特殊になる装備がすぐ買えるようになり、代わりに本来の解禁箇所ではそれらのバリエに入れ替わったので、装備の為にプレイする手間が減りました。 また体感ですが、下の追記の時よりCPUの強さが抑えられたような気も…。 2025/07/02追記： 英語オンリーだったのが多言語対応され、日本語も追加されました。 ---以下本文--- アイテム有りのスノボゲーム。 特徴としては ・赤いボックスからショット弾、青いボックスから通常アイテムが拾えるある程度の選択型 ・スノボなのにラップ制なので、滑り終わったらリフトに乗って上に戻る　リフトで渋滞を起こす ・スノボなのに砂漠とか海とかが当然のように出てくる つまり64などで展開されていた『スノボキッズ』ライクです。 それも雰囲気やギミック、BGMとかのそれっぽさの度合いがカンスト振り切れてるような作り。 64で一番好きなゲームが初代と超スノボキッズの2作で、でも隠れた良作くらいの扱いだし今更復活も無いよな(サントラはちょっと前に配信されましたが)とずっと思っていたので、海外でこの解釈一致過ぎる物が作られたのが本当に嬉しい… [h1]良いところ[/h1] ・手触りやBGMが新作かと思うくらいにそのまんま ・トリックを出すとガンガンブーストゲージが溜まって加速できるシステムになったので、純粋に高速レースゲーム的な楽しさも強い ・「スノボキッズのコースならこういう事やるだろう」という部分をそのまま200％くらい拡張して詰め込みまくったようなコース内容の濃さ ・キャンペーンモード他の一人用の要素が多く、コース上の大量の分岐に収集アイテムがあったりもするので、良い意味で64くらいの要素多いレースゲームの感触 ・ストーリー的な要素は皆無なので英語でも困る部分は少なく、元ネタやこういうアイテムレースゲームの馴染みがあるなら触ってすぐ理解できるくらいのハードル ・記録が全モード共通なので、下の難易度や別のモードでまた1位取り直しみたいな事はしなくてよい ・装備を変更するとワイヤーアクションで延々飛べたり、スラスターで大ジャンプしてどこでも無理矢理トリックしたりとスノボやってない無茶アクションやっては崖に落ちるプレイもできて楽しい [h1]元ネタと違うところや仕様面について[/h1] ・トリックを出すとスピードボーナスが入り、さらにブーストゲージが行動で溜まって任意で加速できる　ゲージの回転率は良くサクサク加速し続けられる ・空中に任意でグライダーなどを開いて軌道修正ができる　挙動自体が別物になる装備もある ・赤と青で入手アイテムが違うのは同様だが、種類問わず2個ストックで古い方から必ず使われるので特定アイテムを保持しておくのが難しめ ・使用者以外全員確定でヒットするアイテムとか、1位だけが確定で喰らうアイテムみたいなのは無い ・基本的な操作感は大体同じ　デフォルト操作の場合真下に入れっぱなしで急停止、地上でRボタンでブレーキが可能　チュートリアルで何も読まずにやると失敗し続けるかもしれないので注意　空中でR押すとグラブトリックになるが、前後左右の指定はできないっぽい？ ・トリックの入力方法はほぼ一緒なのに加えて、空中であればジャンプ入力してなくても入力方向にいつでも回れる　ジャンプが高めなのでジャンプ入力で出すメリットはある ・コケるの確定しているタイミングで回ろうとしても入力無効になるアシストがあり、デフォルトでオンかつ特にペナルティなどは無いっぽいのでお手軽 ・コケた時やアイテムでクラッシュした時の復帰が速め ・ショット弾は空中にいても普通に当たるので移動で振り切って避けるのがメイン ・下位によるアイテム補正があまり無いように感じるが、アイテム単体の性能が全体的に高いので順位が動きやすい　 ・壁や天井への着地が非常に緩く、反重力レースゲームばりに壁や天井も滑れる ・グラインドできるレール判定の場所が非常に多い　グラインド中に横入れて回転もできる ・トリック出しながら崖に落ちたりしてもそこまでのポイントやブーストゲージは加算される ・1レースで8人いる代わりにリフトは乗り場が複数になっているので、元ネタよりは渋滞しない ・キャラやボードの性能差は設定されているが、大体どれ使ってもいい程度の差…追記：元ネタでいうLv2のような上位版もあります ・元ネタのようなCPUの超反応回避は無いが、攻撃自体はガンガン飛んでくる 全体的に移動の自由度が上がっていてミスのリスクが低めになっており、バリバリ飛び回って加速しながらアイテムぶつけ合おうぜ　と言ったノリ。 [h1]気になるところ[/h1] ・キャラがミーム的人気があるような動物ばかりで、見た目的な個性が弱い　英語ボイスのテンションがやたら高いのは良い ・アバターパーツは一杯あるが、どうしてもネタ的な物ばかりでいじってて楽しくはない ・一人用の要素が多いのは良いが、キャラやボードなどの解禁がかなり渋い　一部装備に関しては初期からショップで解禁に変更されたがそれでもまだ大変 ・ゴールまでに弾当ててボスのライフを0にするルールがあるが、攻撃アイテムが手に入るまでボスを追い越さないようブレーキしながら追いかけるだけなので楽しいモードとは思えない ・移動の自由度が高い分よくエリア外にすっ飛んでいくが、判定基準が分かりにくいのであっちはOKなのにここはダメなの？という納得いかなさがある ・トリック時の演出や効果音全般がちょっと弱い　カスタマイズでトレイルをネオンオレンジなどにすると華やかになる ・アイテムの対処法が分かりにくい物があり、気づくまで理不尽要素に感じやすい いかにも海外のパーティゲー的見た目の為日本であえて触る人はほとんどいないかもしれませんが、 「スノボキッズみたいなのがやりたい」と思ってるなら本当にオススメです。 元ネタ自体もそうでしたが対戦しなくても一人でも楽しいタイプの奴です。 3段階スピードが設定できますが、こういうゲーム大体慣れてるとか速い方がいいなら初見でもTOO FASTでいいと思います。 CPUの強さはオプションのゲームプレイからAI Difficultyで選択できます。 追記： 元ネタ知ってるとアイテムの効果が紛らわしいですが 雪だるまは設置アイテム、磁石はバリア、蜂は対象のスピード低下、氷は周囲凍結攻撃です。 弾系のアイテムはどれも後ろに撃てるので、1位でもガンガン後ろの邪魔できます。 蜂は原作のゴーストと同じと思うと速度低下が強過ぎるように感じますが、「蜜でボードが滑らなくされる」という意図らしく警告が来たら減速前に大ジャンプ滞空する事でかなり被害を抑えられます。 また、ゲーム中のガイドにもありますが、初代スノボキッズにあったコマンド入力で出るスペシャルトリックの概念があり ジャンプ押している間に ・スティックを左右3回入れた後右入れたままジャンプ離す ・スティック2回転した後ニュートラルにせずにジャンプ離す がキャラ共通コマンドのようで、ちゃんと専用モーションです。 ジャンプ自体しないと出ないのと、入力判定がそこそこ厳しいのでこの辺は大分元ネタに近いです。

Very fun arcade style snowboarding. Reminds me of the days when 1080 was the game to play!

This feels like some wonderful combination of Mario Kart and Cool Boarders, and I absolutely love it. I'm also playing single player because my friends don't game and it's still awesome. Highly recommend.

Déçue. Je croyais jouer avec les copains et retrouver un peu de SSX ou coolborders, mais nope ^^ La prise en main n'est pas assez intuitive, c'est raide sans réel raison. La customisation et le choix hyper varié ne suffisent pas pour justifier les 18€ à l'achat. Je me suis fait rembourser.

My boyfriend and I played demo of this last year and it was a lot of fun. Found out it released a few days ago and had to make sure to pick a copy up for both of us to play. So if you enjoy Mario Kart games you will enjoy this adorable game. Your cute animals riding snowboards with parachutes while launching stuff at your rivals. Also I LOL'd when I watched a pair of ferrets pass me on a pizza. Yes a Pizza. There is a lot to unlock, more animal characters, boards, parachutes, costumes, ect. This game is really impressive for a solo developer, I honestly wouldn't have guessed one person made this. So yeah if you like party style racing games like Mario Kart, get this game. It has both split screen and online play.
