Voice acting was not good but the game was really fun comparing to other Nancy Drew games. Controls didnt feel as stiff and the text was in actual readable size. Tho I love sudoku and picross but at some point even I couldn't do them anymore
Other than the stupid sudoku puzzles, I really like this one.
Nancy Drew is my favorite video game franchise of all time and Shadow at the Waters Edge is my favorite of all of them. Pretty much everything about this game is perfect, in my opinion. Japan is so fun to explore, it's one of the scariest in the whole series, and the story and characters are incredibly well written. Really the only negative is that the puzzles are pretty hard, but other than that it's amazing, I would recommend to anyone who likes mystery and/or horror, especially j-horror like The Ring.
Pros: fun puzzles! As a big fan of Picross I may be biased. The string puzzle was torturous for me though. Cons: TERRIBLE ACCENTS that have aged very poorly. There's only ONE Japanese voice actor in the whole game. It really breaks the immersion.
MY FAVOURITE NANCY DREW GAME EVER. Maybe it's because I love sudoku and picross, but the puzzles in this game are my favourite - I know the bento box section can be frustrating but it's so satisfying to figure them out, and they're adorable! The characters are so fun and interesting, the entire vibe is somehow both calming and spooky, the horror elements are great, music is great, puzzles are great - this is a need to play for Nancy fans <3
