About

I've seen some people concerned about the use of AI in this game, so I thought I would clarify its usage in this game upfront. This game uses exactly one AI generated image towards the end of the game. It was made back in 2021 when many artist (such as myself) were much less critical of image generation models due to the fact they were mostly generating abstract nonsense imagery. It's the only time I've ever used something like that in an art project, and it's not something I ever want to do again.
Lake Ophelia. A strange little place full of fish from all around the world. Nobody is quite sure why, and it seems like most people don't really care to find out. Go ahead, sink your lure and see what you can catch.
In Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia you play as a young kid who has decided to fish at the titular Lake Ophelia. You'll find yourself simply fishing the day away and trading in those fish for either a yummy meal or some new gear.

I'd call it a fishing game disguised as a horror game disguised as a fishing game. It's 99% fish and 1% horror. If you're here just for the spooky stuff and don't care about fishing, the juice is not worth the squeeze. As a non-fishing game player who was lured in by the promise of horror, I ended up having a lot of fun with the fishing. But if you're already a fishing game aficionado, this game is simple and I don't think it'll provide anything new. Buy if you want casual low-poly fishing with an eerie atmosphere.
Absolutely adore this game. Small, yes, but it's just so cute and relaxing with the right amount of unease mixed in.

There's just so little to it... fish for 5 hours and then get 10 seconds of horror at the end.
very normal and relaxing fishing game
Not sure why everyone is calling this a "horror game". It's a cozy fishing game with a cozy vibe.... or is it... (Note: I wish there was a Zoom In/Zoom Out Option considering most of the gameplay is my watching a fish slide up a wall very close up. But other than that this game is great and I LOVED it!)
Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia setzt weniger auf klassischen Horror.

has good atmosphere but camera/controls do not feel good and the "mystery"/ending was pure nothingness to be hoinest. it is quite cheap so may be worth it to some
Recommended to me after showing off my list of "fish"-type games, this is a nice fishing game with a little mystery to it, a nice little edge of discomfort that I find alluring. Simple yet enjoyable. FISH/10
Fun, easy fishing game that is much more visually engaging than games where your camera stays above the water. Nails the PS1 aesthetic very strongly in all areas. A short, relaxing time.
