Despite the lack of optimization with the real-time graphics and minor technical issues with the UI and audio (which wasn't an obstacle to play and enjoy the whole game), Myha is a great puzzle game with an intriguing story and an interesting world. The puzzles are hard but fair and challenging. A must-have for all Myst-like lovers.
I'm roughly 3 hours into this game, and I am just stuck and frustrated. I'm not stupid. I solved Myst, Riven, and Quern without any significant assistance. But due to the amount of time spent and zero progress made, I started looking at a guide. I'm already going, "how the hell is anyone supposed to figure this out?" Possible spoilers: This game has hidden audio cues, which are my bane. It is one thing if I press a button and I hear machinery moving. But if I am in a forest and I hear birds, that's normal ambiance, not a clue. This game uses ambiance and expects you to interpret said ambiance as a clue. The game does a poor job at keeping the player informed on what is a puzzle, what isn't, and where they need to go next. For example, there are colored lanterns. What do the lanterns mean? My first instinct is they might be indicators to the sequence in which I'm supposed to solve the puzzles. ROYGBV, right? Nope. HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY. I go up into a tower and read a note that gives me an obvious hint, except that's not what I'm supposed to do next. I'm actually supposed to solve a bird puzzle which directs me to a rocket ship. But I'm not actually supposed to go to the rocket ship, I'm supposed to go to a children's school next. UGH! it doesn't make sense. Stupid puzzles. Stupid game.

Myha: Return to the Lost Island is an excellent game in the vein of Myst. Of all the games in the Black Cube series, this one is my personal favorite, because this was the only game I found easy enough to finish. It has excellent graphics, complete with a day/night cycle. I liked the puzzles a lot because the majority of them involved finding codes to doors and devices. My favorite puzzle is the cryotube puzzle at the end of the game. This particular puzzle is quite difficult but it is also quite satisfying to solve without a walkthrough. I also liked how the music in this game was implemented. The music here fades in and out, whereas in the other games in the Black Cube series, it tends to loop constantly. My only real gripe here is the fact that the game was rather short. If the developer would make another real-time game like this one, I would gladly purchase it.
Although I experienced some of the puzzles as very difficult, I love this game. As a Myst enthousiast I was very surprised that I've had never heard about this ASA, Catyph and Myha series. I cannot stop playing when I start these games. Love the ambience and graphics! Thank you so much for extending my fantasy. During play I cannot wait till I've solved all the puzzles and discover new places but I'm also somehow dissappointed when the game is over... I wanna thank the team that created this game! Create more :-) Greetz Rob
Hi - I've done a lot of games of this kind, this one is definitely recommended. Pros: Nice scenes and music, relaxing (so take your time), makes you think, makes you notice things and connect the dots. I saw a comment by someone who said something to the effect, "if you see something strange or not quite right, explore it further, it's perhaps part of the solution", which helped for this game's mindset. Cons: Night and day drove me nuts as they switch too often. When night came, I would load a saved game to see what I was doing. One puzzle was haphazard with no logic. Once solved, there was a written note that threw me off for the last puzzle. I had to, for the first time, go to a walkthrough on Google to see if I was on the right track which I was. For the developers, the note was about the planetarium...
I went from liking this game a lot to wanting to get it over with. Some puzzles were very hard without any clues and very math driven. The kids puzzle with symbols I thought was lazy as you could pick up the pieces but not do the actual puzzle on screen. Hated the planetarium puzzle. Hated doing the math on 4 planets you where suppose to find doing that puzzle. Matter of fact I just went to a walk-through just to complete the game. I just wanted it done. For me the game was challenging but not fun in the end. I will give it thumbs up for the cool videos at the beginning and end.
Excellent game. Solid, very rewarding, good sci-fi, excellent graphics.
Un vrai myst-like : Cela faisait longtemps... Jeu parfait à tous points de vue.
