Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 21 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
I wanted to love this game. I REALLY did. Had it on wish list for ages. Having been an enormous fan of The Movies back in the day, I read the reviews, I watched videos online, and lowered my expectations in the hopes I could scratch the itch after all this time and patching. They were even releasing DLC's, so I figured, "Surely they've gotten it to where it needs to be..." Got the game, fired it up and gave it a short go. Enormously disappointed. To save you from reading a long list of complaints after less than just two hours of play, I'll sum it up by saying this: "It's just TOO Indie." That's the TLDR. If that helped you decide, then feel free to move along. If you're curious for a bit more about why I'm refunding this, even at the steep discount I purchased it on, then feel free to read on. It's not long, but I have to throw it out there. Full disclosure, my library is FULL of Indie games. I'm a fan and supporter of developers who take an idea and pour their heart and soul into it, then polish it 'till it shines. Sometimes it's golden; sometimes it's just a shiny turd. In this case, it's the latter. There is just SO much polish missing. I watched the first "movie" my studio cranked out and was just cringing the whole way through. It was awful. From a purely management-type-game perspective, MAYBE there's something there. But it just feels so wrong at every turn even from that angle. Staff are always unable to 'find' the amenity that is literally five feet from them. The tutorial was probably the most condescending talk-to I've had in years. The AI pathing to get where they need to be in any semblance of a timely manner was difficult, to put it mildly. But the worst part was the actual movie. Look, I'm not looking for the depth of The Movies or the magic they captured. I was even fine with the dialogue - an ambitious application of current tech that actually kinda worked and I could stomach without much discomfort at all. The "expressions" on the actors though, and the clipping of skin and textures through the clothing, and just the way they moved was nothing short of disturbing. Worst of all were the expressions. Their facial contortions were enough to give children, and probably some adults, nightmares. I guess at the end of it all, I'm just utterly disappointed. I've followed this game for the past couple of years in the hopes it gets brought up to snuff. Unfortunately, the addition of DLC content which should probably have been in the game to begin with (looking at you Dawn of Cinema), with this much lack of polish on the game and main attraction left me no choice but to post this in the hopes that I can save some other folks the disappointment and encourage you to hang in there to see if another developer can actually do it better. And on the off-chance the developer is reading this, I know you're probably trying. I commend that to a point. But sometimes things just get ahead of you. In this case, the game is certainly ambitious, but it just misses the mark. I know I'll never put any real hours into this game. So a refund it is. Best of luck.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of The Movies by Lionsgate Studios and played it when it first came out and I still continue to play it to this day. I absolutely love that game. With that said, I was very hopeful for this game when I first discovered it and now that I have played it, I am so happy that I bought this! It really does have the familiar feel of The Movies, which allowed me to quickly pick up on the game's mechanics and have started on a profitable studio. This game takes what made The Movies so great and has improved them! The actors and movies have actual dialogue which I love. Wither or not you've played The Movies back in the day, I would HIGHLY recommend this game. You will not be disappointed.

On one hand, this gives me the same feel as playing the original Movies game and there's some interesting quality of life features like an audition section to figure out what your potential writer/director/actor is good at. On the other hand, it comes off as very stilted in certain areas, especially when you watch a movie. I won't sugarcoat it and say that the dialogue is AI generated. Only get it on a sale because it feels pretty budgeted.
This game evokes nostalgia for everyone who played the great game "The Movies". It lives up to expectations, but it's sorely lacking in optimization. It runs very slowly for me, at 20 FPS, while other, more demanding games with far more resources and graphics run much smoother. Aside from that, which I consider very important, the game is perfect. Let's see if they adjust and optimize it.
Needs controller support
This game has so many bugs and glitches, especially in the movie creator, that makes it unplayable. The worst bug I encountered, three different times by the way, was when you play a scene to see how it turns out, the camera glitches and then makes everything disappear when you are in the movie creator, making it impossible to do anything else. it just leaves a blank skybox. I wanted to enjoy it, but these bugs are just inexcusable.
