Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 21 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm very disappointed in this game, especially given how excited I was about it originally. It's all AI generated content, and the UI is so clunky and awkward. I was really hoping this would be like The Movies, one of my favorite games growing up, but it does not measure up.
This is NOT "The Movies". Plain and Simple. GOG has The Movies under their Game Preservation Program so here is hoping it gets a DRM-FREE fix and more up to date with current tech, but at this point, if you want The Movies, go to Abandonware.com, I think it is, and download it from there. It can run on Win 10/Win 11, but just need to do some "TWEAKING" to make it work and load. Also, yes The Movies does not work on certain Resolutions, so that is why many have to wait till the GOG DRM-FREE version is done cause they will fix it up to where its running on larger resolutions. Do not buy this game. The UI is a mess, Ai is ATROCIOUS, and the Movie Making part is, as many have said, ABYSSMAL!? And yeah, the Movie Studio Building is also atrocious. Such a waste of potential...

The "building a studio" part of this game makes little to no sense. Whereas, the "movie-making" is just...abysmal. The "movie is made via AI, the characters all read their "lines" in horrific, machine, monatone voices. What you write as far as script is ...not followed. Don't buy this utter piece of crap.
A regrettable, unfortunate entry into the genre of 'not quite there' successor attempts to The Movies. I don't usually do this, but allow me to share my immediate first reaction upon opening the movie maker/editor. ``` oh. oh my god it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the ui ``` Verbatim, this is what i told a friend when i opened the movie maker in this game. The UI is a debug menu posing as a shipped interface. And normally i would say more than this in a review, but i'm tired and it's late and the refund is already processing and I'm moving on with my life.
I loved the original Movies game and I had high hopes this was the modern remake to fill the gap...but no quite. It's really broken and clunky, and rather than fix these issues, they release DLC instead. Don't bother building sets, because the game just goes ahead and shoots in random sets you have not built. The scripts make no sense and and the DLC's do very little to add any real depth. I was hope that the 1920s would give me cool 1920's stories, instead I got two modern looking people talking about Nickleback albums. I would say that in time it might be a good game, but considering that the developers are selling DLC, its clear that they have no intention of pushing ahead with any fixes.
disappointed considering how much fun the original game was
They've got 3 DLC packs out before the game even feels finished. I purchased on sale and still fell like i didn't get my money's worth. Gameplay is repetitive after a very short time. Making custom movies isn't really all the exciting either. I'd recommend passing unless you're really into a boring recreation of the movie business.
Really wanted to like this but the UI and game controls are awful. It's almost unplayable.
Was mir massiv fehlt (Vergleich zu "The Movies"):

❌ Null Studio-Interaktion: Es gibt absolut kein aktives Studio-Ranking.
