Before I bought this game, I had read somewhere that Johannes Gäbler developed this game because he loves tycoon games and festivals, well it doesn't seem to be a sincere and great love. I spent 5 hours in the game and didn't had a single minute of fun with it, for the most part it was frustrating and embarrassing. I've never been convinced yet by anything Future Friends Games has released and Festival Tycoon was a huge disappointment for me. I'm writing this review as someone who started DJing at the age of 11 and I can't say exactly how many festivals I've either played at, helped organize, worked at or even just been to as a guest, it must have been hundreds or thousands, and as someone who loves video games. My expectations for Festival Tycoon weren't particularly high, I had a feeling it's either going to be okayish or just bad, and when I said it was a huge disappointment, that was an understatement. In the trailer especially in the first 3 seconds, it looks as if the player will get access to really large maps to create a real lavish festival. But that's not the case, all the maps are a disaster, far too small and objects like cacti, abandoned buildings and electricity pylons get in the way. Tutorial is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complicated, the texts could not be any smaller, the biggest stage barely fits on the two largest maps, the sound from the bus is extremely loud while everything else is rather too low. There are 6 types of workers, but for example no sound enigineer, one of the absolute most important jobs on a festival is simply not considered here, Minigolf seems more important here than a FOH, shame on you! There are bands with some very uncreative names, but there is no party floor where DJs gonna play the whole night, Johannes, what kind of festivals have you been to??? It is also not enough to hire cleaners, because in the end you have to do everything yourself anyway, so you have to chase the troops around all the time and you also have to swing the broom by yourself. And then there are just too many annoying bugs, I should put up decorations again and again, then the quest is done and then suddenly not, then the quality of the buildings is not sufficient even though it has already been adjusted, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what a mess! Security and Meds often don't work properly, even saving doesn't always work and even reporting bugs is a bug! I'm really sorry that I have to say it, but don't buy this! I don't recommend it at all! Not even for free!
I have been watching this games production for about a year and have never gotten it. Suddenly it was on sale and I found out why. The UI bugs are only the surface level of issues. The menus are confusing and lack so much of what needs to be there IE easier management of the employees, (WHY DO I GET JANITORS JUST TO HAVE TO CLEAN UP STUFF MYSELF?!?) like seriously you spend all this time making a beautiful festival just to not see anything youve built because you have to pick up trash. Come on. The hours in the game legit are less than 35 seconds so if you have a band on for an hour enjoy it for the 28 seconds their out there (i legit timed it lol) theres so many good opportunities here that were missed. A list of workers like coaster tycoon, the lineup being shown once you start the fest, the janitors doing their job, the time being slower, the UI being more navigable, this game has potential but these things NEED to be fixed
Could be great without the bugs, I really liked it, but the buggs are too frustrating. Meds and security guards can't function properly. Pls fix
The gameplay is quite fun, the style looks good, the whole design of it is good, and the concept of managing a festival is quite fun in itself, but I have had some issues that kill it for me. Firstly I have some bugs I have been encountering, which.. there appears to be no way to report. the in game reporter always seems to fail when I use it, and the like to 'get help on discord' just takes you to their discord server, which only has one mod channel that specifically says "don't report bugs" so.. one of the most annoying bugs you find almost right away is that medics are incapable of helping anyone, you can set up attractions like a gymnasium where people may sustain injuries, or, injuries happen randomly, but then even if you have multiple medic tents set up nearby patrolling the area those people stay injured on the floor forever. Annoyingly, when an injury happens inside these medic areas, it also removes the option for you to pay to resolve it manually and it gets stuck "executing..." The lack of ability to report this officially also doesn't give me confidence
The controls are clunky and the tutorial is in size .001. I tried to like this game, but it's impossible to figure out what needs to be done and what the sub menu options do. I was told to "welcome the band". So I did. but then it said i didn't and I couldn't progress and while i was trying to figure it out everyone injured themselves and the toilets ran out of stock and while my custodians decided cleaning was for losers--not them.
Funny game, but with to many bugs. I don't have the idea it doesnt care the dev. it's okey for a early early early access game, but not a final release.

Un gran juego con muchísimo potencial desperdiciado, ya que los desarrolladores dejaron de actualizarlo desde muy temprano, pero aún así tiene un gran potencial y cómo esta es un gran juego con muchas horas de diversión.
I like the game but it doesn't really feel finished. Having multiple day festivals doesn't seem possible without using community mods.
Abandoned by dev and not very fleshed out. Who's paying £2000 for a one day ticket to a festival???
