About

The core of Mortal Rite is a fast, action-based melee combat system that allows players to trade blows with enemies and rewards strategy over button-mashing. Choose from a variety of characters to embody, each with their own lore, fighting style, and abilities. Overcome enemies by using different skills, strategies, cooperation, collecting and crafting items to stop the encroachment of the king. Play solo, or in multiplayer from the very start of the game, with a maximum party size of 5. Duel with your friends in the refuge for additional rewards.Be wary, as a larger party size will attract additional enemies.
Evolving Combat & Progression
Find ability points and items scattered throughout the world to unlock new strategies in combat.Items can be traded between players, and ability points can be spent in the refuge to customize your playstyle. Each area is guarded by a gatekeeper, upon their defeat, players can revisit the area for an additional challenge. When revisiting an area, players will traverse through an updated map, face new enemy compositions, and find new items.
Each character has two built-in play-styles through the stance system, with player customization through ability swaps, ability upgrades, and items.
Multiplayer is available at the start of the game, so you can jump in with your friends right away.
Alternate enemies and layouts will also appear during multiplayer.
Fast, responsive melee combat with an emphasis on breaking enemy posture to interrupt attacks.
Chain different attacks together seamlessly as characters have different light, heavy, and charge attacks.
Adapt to different enemies by utilizing unique sprinting, dodging, and air attacks.
Counter attacks with each character’s specialty of parrying, deflecting, or blocking.
Encounter a variety of aggressive enemies, each with different methods of taking the player down.
Factions influence fights. With factions being hostile to each other, players can force enemies to fight each other instead.

Some minor bugs, but its a difficult game and feels rewarding and is super fun, also found some fun exploits as well
Fun combat and versatile characters. A bit heavy or maybe unstable on the graphics side.
As a huge soulslike fan and a person that has only liked the from software souls games, this is the first game that has peaked my interest, feels like a genuine work of art and the gameplay feels great! Truly impressed and psyched to play this more. My feedback to the devs is that I was playing this on an ultrawide 49" monitor and the camera did not support it, like the distance from the player becomes too short, a field of view setting would be great for us with the ultrawides.
Fun game! First day playing, I like the textures, sound. I'll add more after getting deeper in the game.
Slightly Dark Souls with a Jump button, Linear story section, roguelite section, and a grappling hook! Grapplsouls is trying to do something new within a genre that is getting a bit bloated if you ask me. The overall tone is dark but not quite as dark as the soulsbourne series gets and the visual scheme of the game is a toss up between a traditional DS game and fortnite. The story is passable but sometimes the old man sounds like he's tired of reading his cue cards, I'm not sure if they should do more or less the narrative like a traditional souls game and just focus primarily on the combat side of things because that's where this game really shines. The combat is solid and feels fluid, I played as Shold mostly because of the HP regen passive ability. exploration is fun but Warning, this is Early Access so you may just go for a walk on the moon if you try searching every nook and cranny. Be warned, you may lose progress or experience bugs, the game literally tells you that on the first screen because that's the nature of early access, this is access to a game in the "early" sense. This game is planned to be in development till probably 2026 at the earliest so I'll go ahead and dismiss any of the negative comments about lack of content or buggy gameplay. For me there is plenty here already but if they complete the list on the EA guide it will be all the more gravy on my turkey.
This game is BUNS, retarded enemy placements while all being tanky while ALSO dealing little damage, the game literally doesnt tell you how to spend your skill points, if its in a safezone or something i never got to it after 30 minutes. Even the way these enemies work is annoying as ♥♥♥♥, yes lets give the archers a retarded amount of mobility. thank you now i need to chase these dudes down for 20 minutes -_-
I totally love it! Very unique gameplay from anything I've played and addictive as ever. I played a lot as Fia and got a pretty good feel for the abilities. Very unique combo attacks.
There's still a few issues about this game, maybe in time they will be fixed. The UI needs a fix, clunky combat.
Not a big game, but a really fun and interesting one, especially if you're looking for a soulslike coop. The scenary is very well done and so are the enemies. The phases could be a little longer but it's very fun all the same. 8/10 just because some small bugs harm the coop gameplay.
