I've always been a huge fan of action RPG games as well as turn based tactical games - so it was important to me to create a game with a pacing that I enjoyed and that so many games seem to miss. Dungeoneer is intended to play at a slightly slower pace than most action RPG games, aiming to reduce button mashing while being visually appealing and immersive. Combat is heavily inspired by Runescape and World of Warcraft, where ability rotation and stat optimization heavily influences gameplay.

It plays good, other than its early, so a piece of loot can land where you cant reach, hard to target something that you body is blocking. These are early problems that just need time to fix. The controls work good just have to get used to the auto combat timing and also using an ability, which stops the auto. Everything works just as any Diablo-like game, just early and only one developer. Seems proper for people to support or at least keep and eye on. You can hold right mouse to move or just click a spot.
The game is obviously not going to be perfect as it’s very new still, but it has already progressed so much and will continue to in the future, and I am very excited for it. Has a very nostalgic feel to it while still being new and engaging and the dev is incredibly responsive and is always engaging with the community through discord. If you enjoy Path of Exile, World of Warcraft, Runescape, you could definitely enjoy this and I am very excited to watch this game grow.
*** UPDATE APR 30, 2022 *** Within days after I was the first to review this game and make the suggestions for this indie developer to add Q&E to rotate the camera and to allow the player to hold right mouse to keep moving, he did just that and added my suggested changes... and this game is a LOT better for it too! ' Great Stuff from a new indie dev! Love it! Love it! Love it! ** NOTE: This review was this games FIRST REVIEW (Apr 27, 2022). ** I absolutely love this game and what it seems to offer from a first look.. but it's got a couple of massive needs that could probably be fixed/added in just a few minutes time by this indie dev.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWvV7kMxuDQ The game definitely needs the ability to hold right mouse to continue moving rather than as it is now at launch requiring you to keep clicking the right mouse to move to the cursor location. This easy fix would make a WORLD of difference! Another EASY fix would be to add the Q & E buttons to simply allow you to quickly and easily rotate the camera. You can do it now at launch by holding the mouse wheel in and moving the mouse but trust me Q & E to also do the same would make a massive difference as well! I hope this dev listens to my suggestions, because they will make the difference between me playing this game a lot more and probably refunding this game. I'll give it a recommend for sure, but like I say, with some easy fixes, this game could probably be a LOT better!
So i played for about a hour and half, had a great time, gives me Guild Wars 1 vibes. Got to level 8 on a mage decided to try a new class. Be warned. If you click create new character it deletes your other character lol. Early access so cant be too upset lol. Update: 7.5 hours into the game. I've cleared both available dungeons multiple times, hit level 12, had a blast! Only other bug i ran into is in some area's of the second dungeon the lights go completely out and you cannot see anything lol. Cant wait for more content!
If Path of Exile were developed by 1 person...
Obviously a game like this from a solo dev isn't going to be on the level of Titan Quest, or Last Epoch, or PoE, or Dungeon Siege.... but it's not a bad game. It may not have $10 worth of content/quality right now, but down the line? Absolutely. I bought it and don't intend to play it for more than a couple of hours really, because I want to play it when it's done and complete... but what's currently here is a good platform for the dev to build upon and that imo deserves $10. The game is terribly slow, as a single battle against a single normal mob can take 1minute+ which is crazy, so that needs to be addressed and there's issues with loot falling through the floor/walls and also many, many tooltips are missing. Epic Old-school RPG Dungeoneer contains so much soul and feeling of D&D I was myself a Dungeon Master so many years ago The magic was back from the early 90s when my friends and I was playing Pen and Paper D&D. So gather a group of friends and go through the portal to the Darkest Dungeon and battle the evil with your friends There are bugs but who cares It's the 1990s Thanks to Alex Luna's Develeperment crew Keep up the good work^^
I do like the game. I know its new and has alot way too go, so I know I will exp alot of bugs and such. One problem I have is that when I try to put points into my stats, some of the stats button wont work all the time. So I kinda stay in one spot to gain levels and such. Otherwise, this is a really good game and cant wait for it too come out of EA!!! For a lone developer, I praise you with all the hard work that you put into this big game!
In my opinion, there is no way this game is worth ten dollars in it's current state. I found this to be an awful gaming experience with a lifeless world, boring forced auto-attacking combat, and faded washed out graphics. You cannot pause or manually save the game and respawning after dying places you way back to repeat the same sections over and over again. You also cannot remap any of the controls. Combat in this game is some of worst I have ever experienced because as soon as you initiate combat with one of the enemies that just stand around waiting for you, you enter a forced auto-attacking animation where you click once to initiate the battle then sit back and watch until it's over. How is that fun for anyone? You also cannot make any changes to the settings unless you exit back to the main menu. In addition, there is no voice acting and lots of consistent frame rate drops. You also cannot add hardly anything to your inventory unless you have certain abilities. Overall, this is a very cheap low budget experience that I cannot recommend.
i can say without a shred of doubt that this is one of the worst games i have ever played. nothing about this game feels rewarding. the combat is clunky, the loot just seems extremely random, dungeons are just littered with all kinds of gathering materials that you can gather, and many more things. 99% sure that this is just a money grab or a game in pre alpha stages.
great game, but needs to have maps of the dungeons so you can see where you have been
