About

The core of Mortal Rite is a fast, action-based melee combat system that allows players to trade blows with enemies and rewards strategy over button-mashing. Choose from a variety of characters to embody, each with their own lore, fighting style, and abilities. Overcome enemies by using different skills, strategies, cooperation, collecting and crafting items to stop the encroachment of the king. Play solo, or in multiplayer from the very start of the game, with a maximum party size of 5. Duel with your friends in the refuge for additional rewards.Be wary, as a larger party size will attract additional enemies.
Evolving Combat & Progression
Find ability points and items scattered throughout the world to unlock new strategies in combat.Items can be traded between players, and ability points can be spent in the refuge to customize your playstyle. Each area is guarded by a gatekeeper, upon their defeat, players can revisit the area for an additional challenge. When revisiting an area, players will traverse through an updated map, face new enemy compositions, and find new items.
Each character has two built-in play-styles through the stance system, with player customization through ability swaps, ability upgrades, and items.
Multiplayer is available at the start of the game, so you can jump in with your friends right away.
Alternate enemies and layouts will also appear during multiplayer.
Fast, responsive melee combat with an emphasis on breaking enemy posture to interrupt attacks.
Chain different attacks together seamlessly as characters have different light, heavy, and charge attacks.
Adapt to different enemies by utilizing unique sprinting, dodging, and air attacks.
Counter attacks with each character’s specialty of parrying, deflecting, or blocking.
Encounter a variety of aggressive enemies, each with different methods of taking the player down.
Factions influence fights. With factions being hostile to each other, players can force enemies to fight each other instead.

It's challenging but fun! Souls-like games aren't typically my game of choice but I have really enjoyed playing through this one. My favorite way to play is CO-OP with friends. This game just feels like it was meant to be played through with a party. Playing this game CO-OP makes me feel like I'm back in the days of Xbox 360 playing through an old split-screen story with a bro. I mainly use Shold because I like that he's a tank and can switch stances to deal big damage. I also love his Great Wall ability. The Great Wall lets me give my teammates cover and is also fun to troll enemies with. When I was playing my solo run, Shold's Great Wall saved my skin many times against the Constructor boss. I find this game extremely enjoyable. The developers have been very efficient at putting patches and updates into the game quickly. The game is well worth its price in my opinion.
Оставляю положительный отзыв только для того, чтобы поддержать маленькую студию разработчиков :) Пусть у них будет мотивация создавать дальше !
So far enjoying everything about it, since it is still in early development THE GAME has so much potential to grow and expand, a buddy and I enjoy the coop play quite a bit.
Not gonna lie elder scrolls rip off, dodge ability is ass cheeks does not work well. Only get this if its like for 5$.......
Super fun so far! I will update my review once I have a chance to play it more but I'm really enjoying it. You can tell there is a lot of quality and attention to detail especially considering how small the development team is. It took me a little while to discover some of the controls that weren't explained super well, but now the combat feels really good. Can't wait to see what gets added in future updates!
I wouldn't recommend buying the game right now maybe once it's more finished. But still $25 for this game as is right now is far to much. I backed this game so I did get my copy for $15 but I would have rather they kept this game in closed development instead of prematurely releasing this game in Early Access. This is a such a bare bones state and Then charging $25 for it is crazy. I can not say its worth the money. I do hope for this games success but right now I can't recommend this game in it's current state
I am loving this game so far. The fire abilities with Fia are so helpful in melting bosses. 9/10 would recommend.
good game ui needs improving and needs more things to do
Got it for 12$ and it is a steal. 10hs of gameplay later, I still think it is worth. It is in Early Access though, if you find it at 20$ it is probably not worth. But honestly, most people giving negative reviews would pay $110 for an AC game. So, trust your own instincts.
While trying out the game I was already fairly impressed just with the scope of what the game was trying to accomplish in the first level, but getting into the second level and unlocking enough ability points to combine the dash ability on the Dual-Swords character that embeds 25 of his shrapnel with the ability to extract them for additional damage -- suddenly the fun factor of the game went way up! If you are looking for an indie Souls-like experience then it could be for you!
