About

When an alarming anomalous signal was detected from the moon of Keres-2b, astronomers were eager to explore immediately. You were created for this purpose - a fully autonomous rover named HOPE.
Collect data from the sites of interest, uncover the source of the Signal, and complete your mission. There may be a chance for mankind just yet.

Take up the role of a hastily constructed rover - drive across rocky terrain to take grainy photos and record crackly signals, and conserve battery power to survive.
Traverse an eerie, desolate landscape - the moon of Keres-2b is a lonely, quiet place, but it's not without its dangers.
A short horror game lasting roughly an hour.

A horror driving game, but somehow less scary than Sonic Racing Crossworlds legend competition. Guide a small rover through rough terrain on a distant moon. Take pictures at places of interest, and record mysterious sounds. Controls feel clunky, but Id say thats the intended way, the bluetooth signal is probably pretty bad up there. Exploration felt okay, there isnt only one path to get to the locations you need, it seems like a big interconnected map. There are a bunch of sun ray spots, which serve as a quick save and battery recharge. It is possible to fall off cliffs, but progress stays upon death. The atmosphere is pretty good, but starts to weaken significantly after a while. The majority of the sites werent really interesting at all. I didnt expect anything extreme, but it was still rather weak. Look at holes and rocks 10 times, wowee. The definitive mooner experience. Theres just absolutely nothing happening. Sometimes there are large purple things in the background when you take pictures, which gave the semblance like something is always watching you, but it was really just the fog combined with walls. There could have been a lot more done with the camera, and the antenna. Random malfunctions, just like the light flicker. One of the scares even flew over my head. The ending felt overly predictable. I still appreciate the effort at it being more than a Iron Lung clone tho. Horror/Surrealist centered Curator: KuriKuration
Atmosphere and sound design were really on point in this game. The graphics and the mechanics are really well put together. The isometric view let's you see just enough in order to force you to use the camera. Overall it's a really good homage to Iron lungs. In that regard maybe we'll get a lore update some day ? I'v seen some reviews mention that the navigation and exploration was a little bit frustrating for some. i would then recommand to play it with a partner like I did. While one of us was playing the other was drawing a map and it really help to fluidify the expériences.
I tried to give this a fair shot, but I unfortunately have to say I found it egregiously hard to progress, especially for such a short type of game like this. The story intro I liked and actually gave me a kind of Iron Lung vibe in the beginning of just introducing this backstory just for context and then framing the game in that. The music, or... the atmospheric background sounds were well done. The whole time it has at this really unsettling feeling pervading it and I like that part of it a lot. It's creepy to drive around this environment and I think that part is also nailed. But these are squandered by the game's really poor design and site mechanics. You are given a set of coordinates to reach for each site, and along the way there will be spots of brighter sunlight to recharge your battery. But trying to find your way around is almost impossible. The terrain is all the same, the view is very zoomed in on the vehicle, there is no map, and there is no other kind of visual guidance like specific marks in the environment hinting where to go. Added to this problem is the fact that the environments are quasi-3D from an isometric angle and the poor map design, and I really found it almost impossible to navigate. The terrain always appears flat but contains lots of elevation changes, drops, hills, etc. So often you will be driving and start to fall without really understanding why or start to slow down trying to drive in a direction only to find out it's an incline that's too steep for you to drive up. When trying to muddle out where you can drive or where you can't, the map itself is incredibly poorly layed out for this kind of driving and navigating experience; Let's say in order to reach the next area to scan, you need to move up and to the right. The map is often layed out in such a way that you cannot go up without going left and you can't go right without going down. So... Which way is it then? I understand that a lot of the gameplay leans on this traversal from point to point, but did it have to be designed so that it was as hard as possible to even know if you're going in the right direction? Multiple times I ended up quitting in frustration after spending what felt like forever and eating up an entire battery only to find out that I was going backwards and ending up at a site I had just completed. Some kind of mapping, even if just to outline where you've already traveled before would have been appreciated, or a line that shows our previous routes, or just literally anything to prevent me from wasting a hour making zero progress and driving around in circles. It seemed like it would have been an interesting premise, an interesting story. I was interested to see the ending. But after wasting another evening trying to play this and failing again because of the poor design, I just realized I really do not want to do this anymore. There were some patches I can see previous to when I played it that seemed to have some design changes packaged into them, so maybe at some point there will be some kind of update that will allow me to finish this, but for now I have to say I don't really think the average person would be able to figure out how to complete this. I sure couldn't.
About the only aspect that was interesting, even if cliche, was something made to look like it was following you. Unfortunately nothing comes of it. Largely a go to location to to do something, repeat until you reach the end. Basic controls work well for the most part. There are malfunctions, which can be annoying during certain moments. Apart from the lore dump at the start, and at the very end, both which are a wall of text, everything happening in the game has no purpose for being there. The world designer just took some things, plopped them in some location, and called it done. Some things I could forgive being there, although the placement felt as if someone had dumped them into one spot: the sea shells which you see in the clips in the description of this game. The other things, that weren't either rock formations/lake, have no reasoning for being there, let alone how they were placed. The ending of this robots journey results in a Monstro, or exogorth things with a recording that makes no sense in any way to be there besides they've just decided to pick this. They could have put in a barking dog, or a rap song for it mattered. One last design fault is the inability to rotate the view to see behind foreground walls. Moving the robot which bounces on inclines makes it difficult to sometimes get to where is needed due to being unable to see the robot. These obstructions aren't even made transparent. I cannot recommend this at all. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere. If you are in want of a game of exploration of a mildly similar nature, but have better thought put into them, I suggest any of these: Capsule https://store.steampowered.com/app/303940/CAPSULE/ Iron Lung https://store.steampowered.com/app/1846170/Iron_Lung/ In Other Waters https://store.steampowered.com/app/890720/In_Other_Waters/ Outer Wilds https://store.steampowered.com/app/753640/Outer_Wilds/
A really cool experience! The atmosphere, artstyle and general vibe made for a genuinely claustrophobic atmosphere. It took a minute to get used to the controls and navigational elements but I got used to it, despite sometimes back tracking without meaning to. I thought using the camera to navigate some of the tighter areas was a cool idea and it made navigating some of the tighter corners and spaces where you couldn't see HOPE at all without it particularly unnerving. If you enjoy horror games that are just a really spooky adventure without having worrying about jumpscares, I think this is worth your time.
Really good bit of space horror. The isometric perspective limits your view just enough to make it tricky to get around, the blurry photos only giving you a rough glimpse at what's in front of you, making navigation itself tense with how little you can clearly see. Very eerie
I'm not typically one to play horror games myself, but this one felt approachable. Excellent sense of dread, spooked me something fierce a couple times. I was right there with that poor little rover :( Also, I have to assume there were some secrets off the beaten path... Maybe an alternate ending if I had found them? But I'm not strong of heart enough to go back in and find them haha. Overall a good time. The save system felt generous enough, though I did get a little pissed off at how many times I slipped off this one cliff when trying to do the last few objectives.
Iron Lung inspired, it's a decent experience.
