Embrace your supernatural lineage! Shapeshift into other forms to explore all the town has to offer, and study witchcraft to learn spells that will help you on the farm or when gathering resources.

The initial progression felt a bit on the slow side, but after the first in-game week, the pace definitely improved. I'm hoping they make a future update so that you can get a quest marker on the map whenever you pin one. It's more of a QoL than it is a dealbreaker though. In its current state, the absence of that feature also forced me to memorize where the town folks' residences and frequented areas, and that's not a bad thing either. Choose your preferred trade-off, I suppose.

Einfach nur gigantisch gut! <3
Even though at first glance it might seem like just another generic farming sim riding on the popularity of Stardew Valley, after spending some time with the game I can confidently say that Moonlight Peaks stands on its own. While it definitely borrows a lot of familiar mechanics and gameplay loops from similar games (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), it also brings plenty of fresh and original ideas to the table. What stands out the most: Moonlight Peaks really shines thanks to all of its supernatural elements. Combining them with a farming sim probably wasn’t always easy, but in the end it works really well. Talking to animals, brewing potions, the card game, and unlocking spells are all super fun, and the story quests where you get to explore the magical side of the town are incredibly cute. The plant and animal designs are great and fit the game’s theme perfectly. There are tons of farm customization options, and the furniture and decorations are full of atmosphere, giving players a lot of room for creativity. I especially love that you can use pretty much every item in your inventory as a decoration. Characters and quests: One of the game’s biggest strengths is definitely its atmosphere and characters. There is a huge and diverse selection of romance options, not only in terms of personality but also their designs and ages. The characters have a lot to say, and as you get to know them better, you can see that some of them change or reveal a different side of themselves, which makes them feel much more realistic. The main story quests guide you through the game while helping you unlock new equipment and buildings that gradually allow you to expand your farm. On top of that, every character has their own set of personal quests that bring you closer to them and let you get to know them better. The characters may not be incredibly nuanced, but each one is interesting, has their own flaws and struggles, and most importantly, they all make you feel something, not always something positive. Gameplay: The game could definitely benefit from a few more quality-of-life improvements (especially easier access to the map and slowing down time while decorating your farm), but quite a few of them have already been implemented. Being able to store and use everything through a single storage instead of crafting ten different chests is a blessing. The interface is clean, the game remembers which gifts you’ve already given each villager, which makes building relationships much easier, and it also reminds you of every character’s birthday. The most important locations in town are close to your farm, making it much easier to get around and plan your day. Earning money in Moonlight Peaks isn’t as easy as it is in some other games in the genre, and items and upgrades can be quite expensive, which makes the gameplay feel more rewarding and keeps you engaged for longer. Cons: - The game is missing a bit of combat, especially considering you’re playing as a vampire, although for some players that’s probably a positive. - NPCs sometimes move way too fast, especially when they’re using something like their bat form. I often end up chasing someone just to talk to them, only for them to be on the other side of the map a second later. - The loading screens can get frustrating, especially when you enter a building looking for an NPC only to find out they’re not there. You can check where everyone is on the map, but you don’t always feel like opening it just for that. - Fishing is a bit meh. It takes a long time and can feel pretty clunky. - It’s a shame that the request board updates so rarely, although I do like that it also includes posts where characters are simply giving things away. - The seasonal festivals feel rather underwhelming, and whenever one starts I mostly just wait for it to end. - The randomness of the shop inventories is a design choice I’m not a huge fan of. I spent ten days in a row visiting Luna’s shop looking for one specific animal, and it became more frustrating with each passing day. - The mechanic of bringing Vampsters back to the cave could use some improvements. Carrying the little creatures from one end of the map to the other takes a bit too long. Summary: I’ve already spent over 20 hours in the game, and I still feel like there’s a lot left to discover. I haven’t gotten bored of the gameplay at all. Moonlight Peaks is incredibly addictive. Every time I play, all I want to do is keep expanding my farm, and I’m constantly coming up with new ideas for customizing both the surroundings and my house. None of the game’s flaws take away from the overall enjoyment, and I think Moonlight Peaks has a huge amount of potential. With future updates, I can only see it getting even better.
I'm having issues with the game I make my character and when I get to the opening scene when she's storming out of the castle it won't allow me to move my character after she grabs her casket. She just stares off into the distance and there's nothing I can do to move on with the game. I've tried uninstalling and installing the game. I downloaded all the DLC and still can't move on from when she magically brings her casket out. My controller works fine when creating my character, but won't work in game and tried using mouse and key to try to move her. But, sadly still nothing.
