The Vitreous Expansion introduced three huge new dungeons:

The Pipeline- brave the stench as you trudge through toxic muck to receive the unique bounty offered by the denizens of the sewer. Prepare to go for a swim as you fight the mighty Dungen Master and proceed to Lord Muffin's lair...
The Butlery- a magically interconnected space meant for storing and processing food served to all inns throughout the world who belong to the Tavern Association. The inner workings of the Butlery though are not for the faint of heart, as you must brave four unique and discrete zones before gaining access to the most prized innkeeper's items within the Vault.

Monsters of Mican is a silly, lighthearted RPG reminiscent of Might and Magics 6 through 8. It contains good depth and allowance of character customization, the battles are exciting, and there's a wide variety of enemies to fight. The game is full of personality, expressed through its character dialogue, descriptions, and even the sound effects, most of all. The character art is great and there's always some new loot to find and upgrade your heroes with. The story, while not remarkable, is interesting and full of some decent twists that I wasn't expecting, so that's always a plus. If you like Might and Magic and don't mind a good deal of silliness, definitely check this game out. It's a bit short, but its vast customization allows for replayability.
Love RPG? Make sure to Follow my Curator Page for plenty more!
How nice it is to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Wizardry and Might and Magic again. But wait! This time the adventure will be different, it will be filled with humor. I guarantee that you have never seen such a rich variety of funny monsters before. The game itself is simple, and not very long. Still, this adventure is worth it, and don’t let fear settle in your heart after meeting the sandwich monster! GOOD ✔️Unforgettable humor ✔️Huge variety of monsters ✔️Might and Magic style BAD ❌The game is quite short ❌It's high time for the developer to change the icons and menus to more appropriate ones for the fantasy world https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL7WrNPh090
And don't forget to Subscribe to my Youtube

Join my Steam Group
(Follow my curator for more reviews like this) This is an excellent Might & Magic style dungeon crawler. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, most of the assets look like they were taken from asset packs, the interface is incredibly janky, but it's FUN, and that's what matters most! Monsters of Mican is a classic dungeon crawler where you create a party of 4 heroes and go through a multi-level dungeon to solve the town's local problem. Same setup as the old Wizardries, Bard's Tales, Might & Magics, etc. Oldschool dungeon crawlers often had some humor to them and freely mixed fantasy and sci-fi elements, but Monsters of Mican goes a step further and embraces straight-up silliness. Almost every readable in this game is a joke, and the monster designs are incredible. There are hundreds of different monsters and they all look ridiculous. Many are made up of different assets mashed together - like a pig with a helicopter rotor on its back, and it's called "porkchopper". Expect a lot of that style of humor, because at least 80% of the game's enemies are stupid jokes like this. That said, the game actually tries to tell a coherent story, silly as it is, and does a pretty decent job at it. In the end, you even get a choice of two different endings! The real highlight here are the enemy variety and the dungeon design. Every level of the dungeon is different. There's traps, puzzles, secrets, and boss fights. It just keeps surprising you at every turn. It starts out as pure high fantasy, but as you reach the deeper levels, in true Might & Magic style you get to fight robots and find rayguns. Level architecture is quite amateurish, but the sheer variety of the dungeon levels more than makes up for it. It's an incredibly charming game that makes you want to keep exploring. The enemy variety is huge. While most enemies are extremely silly, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, making the combat quite fun to figure out. Right clicking on an enemy will bring up its resistances, telling you what kinds of attacks will work best against them. Fire elementals, for example, are immune to fire damage but have very low resistance to ice damage. They also explode when you kill them, dealing damage to all monsters in range (and the player party of course). Bosses are usually tanky and have special attacks that can ruin your day. One of my favorites was a pirate ship with mighty cannons that will shoot a massive broadside at you. Tough fight! The character system is very similar to Might & Magic. If you ever played M&M 6, 7, or 8, this is pretty much like that. You have to pay gold at a trainer's to level up, and get more hitpoints and mana for it, as well as skill points you can invest in your skills. When you have enough points in a skill you can train it to apprentice/journeyman/master/grandmaster/legend, and each tier of training gives you significant bonuses to the skill. Classic M&M style. There's also barrels with colored liquids that permanently increase your attributes when imbibed... and guess what? Yep, the colors correspond to the exact same attributes as those in Might & Magic! The only problem with the character system is that towards the end, you'll be completely overpowered since you'll earn so much XP in the later dungeon levels (and there's a secret dragon throne that gives you a whopping million XP when you find it), you can easily level yourself up to level 180, and you're already almost unstoppable at level 100. The final bosses were a joke due to how overleveled I was. So expect the balance to get completely out of hand towards the end. Up to that point, however, the game offers a decent challenge and especially the mid-game bossfights took me more than one attempt to defeat. It took me 10 hours to finish the game, including the optional post-game challenge dungeons. It's a decent amount of content for the price, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Honestly, this is one of the best M&M-style dungeon crawlers of recent years. It's completely ridiculous, but it knows what's important: a good mix of exploration, puzzles, and combat challenge, with a high degree of variety and a fast pace. It's not a long game, but it never gets boring. There was only one section I didn't enjoy and that's a vehicle escape sequence that plays like a clunky arcade game. Luckily it only takes a minute. It's the only blemish upon a great game. With its quirky humor and mix of fantasy & sci-fi aesthetics, the one indie game this reminded me of is The Dwarf Run, which I also highly recommend if you're into this style of game. Great game, I really hope the developer keeps making games because this one was highly entertaining.
Monsters of Mican is a wacky, janky little solo-dev Might and Magic homage. It's everything that you would expect of a blobber -- build a party of characters from various classes with various abilities and fight monsters in a turn-based first-person view. Nearly every enemy in the game is a pun, which I found amusing. You get things like "pearasites", which are flying pears that suck your blood, and "handsomes", which are ghosts made entirely of hands. The vast majority of the monsters are assets from the asset store, but smashed together in clever ways. It's creative enough that it never feels like an asset flip to me -- it was clear the developer had a lot of fun with this. Similarly, the dungeon is full of goofy floor ideas, but there's enough secrets and gimmicks that it never feels monotonous as other dungeon crawlers can at times. There's a plot, but it definitely takes the back seat until the very end. What's there is actually kinda neat given how goofy the game is, though. The sound design is, I'm fairly certain of this, just the developer making noises with his mouth. While most of the sounds are amusing or inoffensive, there are a few that are shrill and can get rather obnoxious. Music is a ho-hum midi affair, but it never really detracts from the experience. Combat is initially quite difficult and well-balanced -- I was struggling for the first few hours. However, all semblance of balance falls apart in the back quarter of the game. As with the Might and Magic series, you have to purchase levels after earning enough experience. It probably took me 9 hours to reach level 20 and, by the time I beat the game at 12 hours in, I was level 150 -- 130 levels were purchased over just 3 visits to the trainer. Absolutely silly jumps in power. The last boss couldn't even move my health bars. I still had fun and was glad to see the game through, but it was a bit anti-climactic. There's a post game that offers several mini-dungeons that unlock more lore, but I decided to pass on that after checking out one and seeing that I was still nigh immortal. Anyway, despite the gameplay ending with a bit of a fizzle, I had a great time here. I'll definitely be watching for future Mican games.
This was an unexpectedly great gem of a game! It's an indie title, so the polish isn't AAA quality, but I've found the developer to be extremely responsive and dedicated to fixing issues. All of that said, I've been have a lot of fun here. The game is sort of a mix of Might & Magic 3 + 6. The exploration is interesting, the fights are challenging and the rate of advancement is satisfying. I am well pleased with this $10 impulse buy. You should check it out.
This is another might and magic remake/clone/spiritual successor. In this game your party of four arrive on an island as part of a mercenaries guild. There are 14 classes, from the common sorcerer and knight, to the all luck Jester or MM faves paladin and archer. You'll be greeted by a spiritual fox who will give a short tutorial and then you'll explore a little beach area for your first steps before entering a town that has a multiple level dungeon on the outskirts. The town has various vendors: potions, weapons, armor, temple, trainer, etc. Everything here looks like something you'd see in Xeen, just made for modern pcs. Once you get settled in with newbie stuff, you can enter a cavern that leads into a volcano based dungeon. Here you will traverse extremely well designed levels as you try to figure out why this place has spawned near an otherwise sleepy little town. This game has rock solid game systems. Fun melee and ranged with special attacks. Item acquisitions with the mm3 standards of diamond, obsidian, wood, glass, etc. You'll get status effects with cartoon graphics over your character's faces to show you what's up. Green vials for poison, little swirlies for confused and other symbols that are easy to understand. You have the promotion system in full force and you'll go novice, expert, master, grandmaster, and legend! This game is just one guy's love for Might and Magic turned into a long module length game. I've played 30 hours or so just messing with various builds already. Anyway this is super good and super cheap. Edit: July '25 I peeked at this again, but it's just too much content w/o variety outside of art assets. Not sure if the dev is going to make a sequel, but if so it needs a more cohesive/related group of mobs similar to might and magic. Not 35 random pieces of art jammed into an area willy-nilly. I think it'd be great to come up with a great story and add monsters to fit the story. Thinking of the elemental them of MM8 as a good example.
ok so, i have 21 yrs on steam, this is my second ever review. this game is what m&m x should have been. im 3 hrs in, and im confident saying, this game is a masterpiece. i imagine the developer has pretty severe adhd, everything in this game pops out at you, the color pallette, the massive textboxes, the outlandish monsters, its fabulous! ..and the sound effects omfg, imagine recording a guy going "whoosh" with with his mouth, making explosion noises like we used to do playing with our transformers dolls, and using that in your game. Every decision made in the development process is mad scientist level unhinged and it works ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game is a middle finger to all the copy paste scripts 'super serious silent protagonist, drama about some magic relic, big hullabaloo about the big bad guy that you encounter 10+ times over the course of the game each time ending with him being like 'haha you are too weak for me to kill, i shall leave my lvl one minions to definitely make sure you dont foil my plot' you know the drill - every combination of the fantasy genre storyline elements, has already been done. anyway yeah, this game holds nothing sacred and that feels sooo refreshing. im old enough to have played every might and magic, 2 being my favourite, every release since then just disappoints more, its the curse of being a franchise, by the time they got to legacy, they were pretty much creativily bankrupt. idk the first thing about this developer because im really lazy, but idk, geez, im gonna take a wild guess here: the developer, like many of us, wasted much of his precious youth, playing m&m, bards tale, wizrdry, and all the other blobbers i refuse to actually type the names of, i did mention im lazy. which is another reason i like this game - everything is streamlined, dont feel like comparing stats on every weapon on all of your ungrateful characters? not me, not after ive smoked this much weed - so you just hit the button BiS and your favourite waifu, puts on her most fashionable clothes, theres a portal that takes you to any dungeon youve been to before, theres a vendor in town that accepts cheat codes, so far the ones ive used havent exactly been 'cheats' just a useful, fun reward, unrepeatable. i mean i got a wand that turns my foes into a sandwich - granted some of them are already sandwiches, and they hit hard. and this game is hard, youll wipe more than a portly man, the day after a taxing "all the hotdogs u can eat" event. i fell into a volcano, inching slowly towards to peep a looksie, and it was honestly terrifying. some foes are so adorable, that the character that delivers the final blow, feels so bad, they get depressed, but lemme just say, the cuter they are, the more likely they are to one shot your depressed tank. this game has elicited more sensible chuckles from me than any stand up comic since 1990, sure thats not many, but it is for me, im a very serious person. what was i saying? oh yeah, this game is a 10/10 for me. wait i got a quote the producers can put on the store page, lemme find it.. ...-many dots later-... sorry about the wait, i had to attend my entire families funeral lol. but i did inherit an obscene amount of vintage clothing, so, yeah see you suckers later. hey its me im back, and i dont want to talk about the clothing. ill bounce back aha everything is coming up milhouse aha. anyway i have that quote, sorry its taken so many years, we've all learnt so much since i started writing this 20 minutes ago, i mean... dw. get ready, here it comes..the quote i mean. "hello peasants, buy this game or dont, but if u dont your should feel bad" (note the misspelling of "you", board executives love that ♥♥♥♥) negative reinforcement is the key, break their spirits and they will pony up. pls note that this quote is heavily trademarked, but i am willing to let the room full of monkeys that designed this game use it for free. my agency -will- charge outrageous fees to lease its use, but you all know how this industry works, you pay the big man wearing knuckle dusters, not because he asks nicely ...because he isnt, but because of the knuckle dusters.
If you are looking for a serious, balanced and polished RPG experience: you may want to look elsewhere If you are looking for a light hearted, silly (it made me chuckle couple times), imbalanced(balance went to get cigarettes on the 3rd floor and never returned ...) blobber similar to Might&Magic 6-8 for a small price and are willing to look past the janky graphics/UI and unfinished content placeholders give the demo a try and decide if its for you. I originally refunded the game because of lack of polish in the early parts of the game, however the dev (while somewhat inexperienced) is very active and has put out multiple patches. I did have some fun after all and 10$ isnt that steep of a price.
I cannot recommend this game in it's current state but it does have fun core gameplay. The main issue is that the music and sound effects are extremely off putting to the point where I had to immediately disable them. Additionally there seems to be no mouse sensitivity setting and FPS is directly correlated to all of the engine's gameplay elements meaning the game and your mouse speed go crazy if you play at 120 FPS. The UI forces you to use your mouse to target your own party members with spells as well instead of providing a keyboard button. UI also is not very customize-able. Many things in the game overall are unpolished or unfinished such as: 1 - The character creation screen allows you to subtract stat points from a class then push the switch class button and do it again and again for infinite stat point build up before the game even starts. 2 - The new stats in the item comparison screen when looking at a new item is incorrect about 90% of the time. 3 - The Paper Dolls shown in the equipment screens never change making them pointless. 4 - NPC Paper Dolls show up as ultra stretched versions of themselves which look horrible. Sprites should never be scaled in any other way outside of Integer scaling to retain their proper aspect ratio. 5 - The Inn dialogue box shows up in a 10x10 pixel box while playing at 1440p making it unreadable and nearly unclickable. 6 - You can find your way out of bounds all over the place with something as simple as the jump spell. (This may be intentional and can be kind of fun but makes the game feel kinda janky.) 7 - Keyboard buttons do not seem to be customize-able at all and the default layout is very strange. 8 - Music and sound are currently intolerable with volume all over the place and nonsensical humor-based sounds. That would be alright as a goofy mode but really takes away from the gameplay for me so I just have to mute the game and play my own music to play at all. Hopefully the developer can tighten the game up over time and improve upon it because the combat is actually quite fun and there is a lot of potential here.
Welcome home, Might and Magic VI fans (and wizardry 8 enjoyers)! I don't usually review games until I've completed all its content offerings, but the Developer replied so fast to my problem that that alone is worth huge merit. A clear love letter to the original Might and Magic first person party-based dungeon crawlers series; from the endearing aesthetics, to the mechanics, and to the amount of hacking and slashing you'll be doing as you venture deep into dungeons floors. While the aesthetics may put people off, I don't personally mind it and find some of the enemy names/design quite funny. Sound effects are also on the same realm of amusing where they are very evidently self-made, I do think it adds to the overall experience. Gameplay-wise, it is very much old-school might and magic but without the option of going real-time. Do not worry though, it won't be as glacial as Wizardry 8 since the game includes a combat speed option. Dungeon exploration is much more similar to older Wizardry entries, where you (mostly) have one big dungeon to explore, map out, and puzzles/riddles to solve. Character progression is very satisfying too.
