I love this game, but why my save file gone???
There is a a lot you can do for a monster to customize a build. Some reviews say it gets grindy at the end, but if you just git gud you can beat the boss with an under leveled team. I stopped for the last boss to grind like 3 lvls. I think it took like 30 minutes lol. So ya the combat system is pretty peak, I wanted to play the mulitplayer online but there was nobody there. For Monster Sanctuary 2 it would be nice if the player could shorten attack animations during a fighting by spamming a or something. And then sometimes I found myself spamming a while opening chests and end up closing the tab that shows me what I received. It would be nice if a opens the chest and x closes the tab or something to avoid this.
Very good
The pitch sounds so good that it boggles the mind nobody's done it before: a monster collector where ALL of the monsters collected double as traversal upgrades in a Metroidvania. It's peanut butter and chocolate. Every monster is granted additional nuance and depth by its role in traversing the map, adding an entire dimension of characterization beyond the visual design and the battle stats. And the monsters in question are inventively designed, a treat to discover. The big downside, for me, is that the battle stats all feel over-tuned, over-balanced. In the interest of making every monster theoretically viable, a lot of texture has been ironed out. There aren't big rock beasts that look imposing but reveal themselves as limited and vulnerable low-tier choices, nor are there clearly overpowered moves that function as their own game-changing paradigms. And that engenders a lot of sameness, battle-wise, from one monster to the next, which is an enormous missed opportunity for characterization. Still, there's a lot of charm here, and between their designs, their lore, and their traversal skills, the monsters do feel distinct and interesting. So despite the missed opportunity to amplify those distinctions through truly varied battle mechanics, this is still a very easy game to recommend.
That one turn less rule has to be one of the dumbest "balance" moves I ever seen in my life.
한글번역본 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1unLvnO6iG_TAvVDPWhBDfIuR-5_OFkb_YUCV9kYtMhY/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.27g9holoz2y6 I really enjoyed this game. It features cute pixel art, a decent variety of costumes (it even has different color modes!), a reasonable difficulty level, a diverse range of monsters, and clever gimmicks that you can solve using various monster abilities. Additionally, I’m leaving a link to a Google Doc where you can check out the skill trees and recommended equipment for all monsters. Also, the map marker feature left a lot to be desired. While you can name the markers, you can't actually view those names using the mouse or directional keys. I’m not sure if I just missed how to do it, but it was incredibly frustrating because I couldn't see them no matter what I tried. Not being able to check or delete marker names from afar meant I had to physically go back to that exact spot multiple times, which was very inconvenient. Lastly, there is an achievement that requires 25 PvP matches. Since the player base was already gone by the time I played, this achievement was impossible to complete. It made me really sad that I couldn't get a 100% completion.
nice progression with skills, equipment and evolutions.
