Although slightly less charming than The Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck’s Revenge is still a great game. It's a must-play for adventure game fans!
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood? A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could, if a woodchuck could chuck would.
After like 30 years finally finished it, ending is amazing, it raises so many questions even though I heard mostly people complaining about it
yeh nah cant see what all the hype was about maybe a game for kids not my cup of tea
I have a lot to say about MI2, but I don't think I'll sway anyone's views - it's cemented itself as a classic of the genre and at 35 years since original release, what's the point in feedback? However, it is worth noting that this game is a standout example of why so many people tend to avoid Point and Click games. Many of the puzzles are illogical, unfair and, being honest, tedious. The middle portion of the game will have you backtracking over 3 different islands and numerous scenes trying to figure out what the 40+ junk items in your inventory might possibly do. Guybrush will give you absolutely no hint as to what anything does - be prepared to hear him say "Nice!" for almost every interactable in the game. For every lightbulb moment there's at least two "wait... what?" moments. It really is more a case of guessing what's in the designer's mind rather than genuine puzzling. Some more tangible issues: A couple of keyboard shortcuts are present ("H" for Hints and "." to skip dialogue), but the game does not tell you! I really wish I'd known about skipping dialogue button sooner. Some scenes require you to act while other characters talk/act, except the game awkwardly pauses when they do. This makes it difficult to work out whether you're doing the right thing or if it's a timing issue, and you'll feel like you're fighting the game to test solutions. The pacing of the chapters is also pretty off - there's 4 chapters but, without spoiling too much, the latter 2 are significantly shorter. Regarding the writing and comedy, it really didn't hit for me. Maybe I'm the wrong demographic or maybe the jokes have just faded with time. On the plus side, it's a very serviceable remaster. Voice acting was generally pretty good, hot-swapping graphics was nice, and the highlight object feature is a welcome update. If you're nostalgic for MI2, this is a fine way to play it again. Whilst this may be considered a classic, there's a reason they don't make 'em like this anymore.
My favourite part. Just the right dose of cool puzzles!
i m a pirate! one of the best point& click adventures. so after nearly 20years a 2nd playthrough (~6h) ..and a 3rd "run" (1h28m) for some achievements. highly recommended if you like point&click adventures
