Misc. A Tiny Tale is a charming and adorable game about 2 little robots taking off on an adventure after a nearby explosion shook their tiny village. Trash and golden cogs splattered everywhere, so Buddy and his friend Bagboy set off to find out what happened. Buddy is the best friend we all want to have: encouraging, accepting and supportive all the time. No judgement from him! Bagboy is less confident and is filled with doubt, but curiousity motivated him to leave the village, but he is glad of Buddy's company and capability. Flick is Bagboy's complaining cat. Their journey takes them through several villages and the inhabitants set quests for Buddy to fulfill. He cleans and mops up all the trash and finds the missing golden cogs which opens the broken gates of all the villages. Some cogs are received from his quests. Each village has a robot who recycles his trash and he is able to buy things from the local shop. Buddy enjoys making a difference, but the greatest change was in the robots hearts. They are surprised that he went to all that trouble for them. The game has a moral tone to it and it is based around communication, acceptance, community and relationships. I felt at times the moralistic tone was too much, especially towards the end. All the bots are cute and very diverse and you quickly become attached to them. It was interesting to see the misc parts that made them up and their unique personalities. That is one of the themes of this game: to accept yourself as you are and not compare yourself to others. To let your light shine, so to speak. Misc. A Tiny Tale is easy to play, but there is quite a bit of platforming. Most of it is easy, but there are a few tricky bits here and there. The hardest parts are the Gus challenges which are pure precision platforming. I got them all except the last one, so I had to forego the achievement for this. Hence my lengthy time stats!! I really enjoyed this game and the bonus was that it is Australian made! Many thanks to Kiry for this wonderful gift. I loved the sound, especially when Buddy was going across ice and you hear the clink, clink of his footsteps. There is no doubt that this game was lovingly made and it made an unexpected emotional impact on me. I did not expect to cry! If you are looking for a cute and wholesome game to play and is suitable for kids to watch......this is it. Misc. A Tiny Tale shows that heroes come in all shapes and sizes....even if you're only 3cm tall! Well done to the devs!
Not many games have made me shed a tear but this one did. Just beautiful. Read the inbox too, love it. Also, support Aussie game development!
Once I’m President, my first executive order will be prison time for mapping jump to B and mapping action AND attack to the same button. However, this game is great despite those elements, and thus the devs will be pardoned. This is a very charming and relaxing platformer/collectathon divided in 8 chapters, each of which has 10 cogs to collect, trash to clean up, and a bunch of quests to complete for the various robots that inhabit the world. It took me a while to get used to the jumping, as it’s a bit floaty and carries a lot of inertia. However this is not due to bad programming, so once you get the hang of it, it becomes reliable and precise. Graphics are okay - cute character models and nice, creative environments, but there’s nothing particularly beautiful. Story and characters are endearing and easy to like. I wish sprint wasn’t limited to a handful of seconds, as some levels can require some back and forth to find all collectibles and the base movement speed is a bit too slow. I’m not particularly good at platformers, but I 100%ed every level, including each level’s optional Challenge course, in a little over 8 hours and with little to no difficulty. Easy recommend if you’re into relaxing and simple platforming/collecting stuff.
If you enjoyed playing Chibi-Robo on the GameCube you'll definitely appreciate Misc. A Tiny Tale.
9/10 Huge fun to be had in this "tiny tale". Fun platforming, 10 collectibles per stage, cute characters, and a bit of clean up makes for a good time.
A very charming, focused 3d platformer and collectathon that very much has some DNA in it from old gamecube games. Nothing too challenging but the heartfelt tone through the whole game kept me going until credits.
Highly recommend this game!!! Absolutely adorable, well worth the money (though I did receive it as a gift and discounted), and it instantly became a new huge favorite of mine. Easily one of the best games I've gotten to experience. I'm in love with the storyline and all the characters- didn't expect the game to make me cry but here we are. I love you, Glint :(

A beautiful little game about beautiful little creatures. Lovely visuals, simple but compelling gameplay and a great story with interesting characters. This game is one of the few that has ever deeply affected me on an emotional level and I'm so glad I played it.
Absolutely loved this game from top to bottom. So incredibly cozy and charming. You can tell this game was made with love (and a love of the Nintendo Gamecube).
