Mighty Monster Mayhem VS VRobot (1). VRobot pros more polished more optimized better UI design better graphics cons relatively boring gameplay feels like it is just another king kaiju low replay value no music short play time (cleared all stages in 20 mins) relatively less immersive (feels like I am destroying toy city) lower launch discount rate (2). Mighty Monster Mayhem pros gameplay itself is very cool can move freely with swinging arms can play various gameplay style world scale is bigger so it is more immersive (feels like I became giant monster) can climb buildings more various monsters and cities high replay value relatively long play time (played more than 30mins in first city) higher launch discount (lower price) cons need to be polished more poor optimization (serious frame drop on 1080ti / 6700k / 64gb ram) relatively worse physics (imo kinda bad) movement of citizens is not active relatively worse graphic and resolution conclusion imo gameplay itself of Mighty Monster Mayhem is way much better, but I am little apprehensive because MMM is full released game. if there is no improvement I cannot recommend it. but if dev promises that there will be improvement of optimization, physics and some issues, I definitely recommend buy MMM than VRobot. because MMM is way more fun at least for me but VRobot is not bad too. but If I have to choose one. I will choose MMM (if dev has plan to improve the game)

For a fully released game, this needs a lot more love on the polish and optimization side. The Good:

Interestiing locomotion choice: hold grips while swinging arms. Works well.
Lots of promising gameplay design choices.
You get to be a monster, scale feels pretty good at times.
The Bad:

Weaponized SUV things and "The Dale" (google it) cars shoot through their hoods and turn in place like tanks.
It looks like a city, but it doesn't feel like one.
Picking up objects near other ones causes them to get destroyed, This is problematic when you have the explosive throw powerup, or if you want to pick up a person that is standing next to another without making him gib.
You can't aim your jumps very well.
The textures are low quality.
Objects have no durability. Fire trucks and light posts and be used as clubs for maybe a swing or two before they are broken.
All objects do the same amount of damage to buildings. A bus does the same amount of damage to a building as a mailbox.
Walking on top of buildings is cumbersome at best.
The Ugly:

Optimization is bad above recommended specs (I have 3770K/980ti) and frame drops happen a lot. This is problematic when trying to use the jump mechanic.
Dude talking in your ear talks a LOT. His role is meaningless and what he says has almost no impact on gameplay considering you have a monster-sized wristwatch that tells you what to do.
Enemies shoot through debris and walk through buildings.
Buildings have like 10 feet of concrete on the outside and have randomized "supports" you gotta find to break down a building. Main objectives are always "destroy X buildings" so it gets tiresome quickly.
Said buildings leave a lot of debris, which blocks vision and gives cover to enemies that just shoot through it.
Fun idea, but needs a lot of work.
Coop Gameplay Review
First to say, my friend an I tried out only the online coop gameplay. We played with Oculus Touch through Steam VR. Most worked well. But I had some issues with suddenly showing up the loading screen of steam vr during gameplay. After that the game was unresponsive and I had to quit and restart it through windows! Pros

Online Coop Gameplay (rare to find) !!!
Nice locomotion feel (arm swing) and climbing
Different towns to explore
Cons

No Quests or Aims in Coop expect getting the High Score.
Quite boring gameplay on the long run (but really fun for a short time!)
Low replay value
Bad graphics style
Not worth 15 bucks (should be priced 6,99)
Conclusion Actual coop gameplay is fun but to less for what you have pay. Go get it on a low price sale! And as this is not Early Access, there will be no greater impropvements on this. Due to this, its not recommended in its current state and price for coop gamers ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ████▌▄▌▄▐▐▌█████ ████▌▄▌▄▐▐▌▀████ ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
I can't believe any game would ever have such a total douchebag voice as the guy they use. I turned the voice off as soon as I saw it as an option, and it was silenced for a few minutes, then as if I didn't do a thing, he started that annoying blabber again. I checked and it was still turned off. They get the prize for most annoying voice actor in the history of entertainment(movies, games, tv, radio). He is the worst ever and since they let him go on when I turned it off I had to go negative. Besides that the graphics are a bit weak, the controls didn't work as well as they did in the demo even. I like the concept but that voice in the trailer is twice as bad in the game and it angred me into quitting, especially since I turned it off already.
Oh man this game is great. It's very satisfying, controls are super simple, this might become my go-to 'demo' game for first time vivers. The best part is if you play hard it's a workout. You are pumping your arms running, punching, jumping, and you do move around a bit. I worked up a sweat within an hour. I haven't punched anything IRL while in VR since rec room, but this game got me and a buddy acidentally punching tables and walls again. That may not sound like a good thing, but trust me, it means that the game gets you moving and active, and you lose yourself in the game. Put up a big glowing chaperone for this one haha. At the time of writing this, the price is 8.99 and I think that's a steal. If they keep working on this game and polishing it up, this game will get to the top of my vr list pretty soon. I got this game for free as a code from the developers themselves at VRLA. He even gave me an extra card for a friend. I would gladly buy it for *full* price, and have bought some of their other games to support them. Finally, if you want to see gameplay for yourself, you can check out my stream VOD of the game here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/137933447 Great game.
It's a great concept - Rampage (1985 arcade game) in VR. Some parts are fun - eating soldiers never grows old. What does get old immediately is the inconsistent controls. Sometimes you grab a building and a hunk comes off in your hand, other times the same exact motion does nothing. The most reliable method of building destruction is flailing your arms around wildly, which gets old quickly. Your body will often clip through or get hung in buildings, which is a nausea inducing experience.
https://youtu.be/gqt0kJqssVk Remember Rampage from the 90's? This hidden gem is the closest you are going to get to being able to play Rampage in VR. You choose a monster and then destroy the city by smashing buildings, eating humans and tossing vehicles and furniture around as the military attempt you take you down with soldiers, tanks and helicopters. It's a really intense workout; I was absolutely sweating after a couple of levels! When buildings take enough damage or you hit the structural integrity points, they collapse. As well as smash and throw things, you can actually climb the buildings which is so much fun! It's really satisfying whilst climbing a building to put your fist through it to reveal a little dude in his apartment, which you can then grab and eat. Or to be climbing a building and have helicopters buzzing around you King Kong style. The city maps are a good size, but I would love to see even larger maps and taller buildings! In particular I would love to see more diverse maps, such as maybe a suburb only level, or if it was possible to take a page from Rampage World Tour's book and have levels with special features like landmark buildings. (Eiffel Tower, etc) However, I'm not sure if such a thing is even possible at this stage since this is not an Early Access game, and these kind of additions might be out of the scope of any future update. The control system is great and intuitive. Movement is done by swinging your arms which is perfect for this game in particular because it actually fits the feeling of being a huge monster stomping through the city. For this reason, I kind of wish there was stomping damage to pedestrians and furniture below as you walk, mostly because the form of locomotion makes me feel like I'm stomping, so my brain expects to see the damage I cause as I walk. I found this type of movement greatly reduced any motion sickness for me, which I think would be a lot more prominent by using the thumbsticks to move. The only motion sickness I felt was a sensation of vertigo when I fell off a building, but that's awesome. Jumping (which is insanely fun) is done by kind of swinging the controllers downwards. Again, works great because it is kind of like the motion you could imagine a giant monster doing. Aiming your jump can sometimes be a bit tricky and I had a few incidences where I intended to jump forward but instead propelled myself backwards! The only critique I have of the controls is that the trigger to climb is also used to form a fist for punching. When climbing buildings, I had some niggly interactions where I want to punch a the building or whatever while climbing, but instead I end up grabbing the building. You kind of have to extend you arm out away from the building to form a fist and then smash it back in. Not a huge pain, but feels like something that could be improved upon in the future. Oh, and on that note, if there was ever a 'turn your chaperone on' game, this is it! Even though I didn't need to move around roomscale much, I found my arms were swinging violently all over the place while playing! The graphics are simple and cartoony but work well. I think the weakest element of the game is the sound, which is totally adequate but I think could be better. I found the narrator's audio levels to be quite blown out, (likely because he shouts so much) causing distortion. The sound effects are good but it all really lacks a good ambiance. I would love to hear a chaotic cityscape while playing, like the sounds of distant sirens and screams, honking and just general chaos. It would be nice if there were more sfx in general; debris falling, steel beams in buildings groaning, etc. The music is also fine, but loops, so after a few levels you have heard it a bunch. Finally, the price point is good for this game. If you have any nostalgia for Rampage, give this a try because the gameplay definitely gives a nod to it, but with a VR twist. There is a multiplayer mode but so far I have been unable to find an active lobby. But just from playing singleplayer I can totally see that this would be a great laugh to play with some mates who have headsets.
Very fun Rampage style game. The controls are Climbey-style, and work well, and the performance is good. There's a story mode, and the multiplayer is also very fun. Works well on Oculus Rift. Also, you can jump off a building, grab a helicopter out of midair, and throw it into your buddy's face while you're freefalling. That alone was worth the price.
Great monster game, probably the best one out there right now! Keep up the great work! Best VR game released on April the 20th!
