Definitely somewhere in my top 25 games. I didn't like metaphor as much as other atlus games just because the characters and party members felt a little less fleshed out(but they were still amazing). I really liked the traveling across the continent aspect and not being locked to a few places. ALSO there is alot of content to do so i was never really bored. AND THE STORY was amazing aswell as the antagonist. def go buy it

Overall it is a very engaging game with familiar parts from SMT V. It is a lot more story heavy and almost visual novel in parts. I would caution that until you complete the long prologue and beat the first real boss you are not actually playing the full game. I think I was about 15 hours in and found it super frustrating to be told about how the game works but being unable to use half of it. There is a severe skill and patience check to clear the first dungeon and they aren't shy about throwing problems at you that make the next section feel like a walk in the park. Once I powered through and got to the main meat of the game I found progress satisfying and could actually experiment with compositions. The calendar system is a lie to make you anxious and you have more time than you think.
Such a breath of fresh air from recent ATLUS titles. Absolute Fantasy It's got your typical Persona formula but with a nice and fresh twist that keeps it very entertaining. The soundtrack, characters and world are definitely among the best ATLUS have created. My only gripe would be the dungeons get a bit repetitive after a few reskins, but it's worth it. 100/10
"A land grotesque as its people. You dreamt of utopia. You saw the tribes united as one. That dream died long ago. You should have done the same. Your kingdom... will perish alongside you. By my hand." Genuinely the best game I've ever played and it's not even funny Fantasy Lives On

its fun but can be a drag
Quite long journey for me, this review is coming from someone who did not play any ATLUS games before and rarely plays JRPGs. First of all, the story was very good. I've spent way too many days playing till late hours just because I was curious what will happen next. Some characters resonated with me more than others (Basilio best bro), but most of their stories were interesting. Combat was balanced for me, as there were times where I felt too powerful, and moments later I got my ass handed down to me by a boss. I did not know that preparation before the boss fight was really the key. Getting information on bosses and theorycrafting best team comp before the battle was just as fun as challenging myself with randomly picked teamcomps. I do have couple of areas that I wish were improved: 1. More OST - the soundtrack was fire, but hearing it over and over for 100 hours is pretty tiring, the game is afraid of silence, but felt like there were only handful of tracks in the game. Hearing epic music during random conversation with NPCs felt awkward at times. 2. Visual fidelity - anime cutscenes were great, but the gameplay graphics could be improved by a lot. It runs great on handhelds, but I wish there was more detail in game assets and world 3. Player choices - they don't matter most of the time. If that's the case, why would I be bothered to even choose? 4. Dungeons - they felt like a slog at times, uninteresting and either too short or way too long Either way I enjoyed my time spent with the game.
Lullaby/10.
