Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 102.43/day in the week to Aug 28 → 237.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

War... war has changed........ 18 years later and MGS4 has been freed from the PS3. Get some popcorn and some soda and get ready to watch cutscene after cutscene
Shamelessly self indulgent fan-service series swan song that feels both contrived, and honest in it's intentions. This is not a metal gear game for newcomers, which may be obvious with it being placed at the end of the series timeline but you need prior exposure for many of its riffs to land correctly or with enough depth. there are negatives, maybe more-so than MGS1, 2 or 3, or even some of the side-titles. The gameplay to cutscene ratio is way off, some of the achievements are downright sadistic, and sometimes you can feel a slight tint of spite writing from kojima, in the sense of him wanting to be done with the series and so writes away the mystery of every existing plot points in order to put a "capstone" on things. It relies on nanomachines way too much to explain things that might've been better off not explained. Drebin's shop exacerbates an existing design tension in the fact you have all these cool tools and yet, the game subtly incentivises you not to use them (or rather, to use non-lethal exclusively). The Beast Unit are beyond forgettable compared to Dead Cell and rogue FOXHOUND, and exist kind of as gooner-bait with generic tragic backstories stapled onto the side of them. They suffer from some of the same issues the Cobra's did, where kojima's writing goes "theme first, character second", which is how we end up with "Raging Raven is Angry", "The Fury is Furious", or more recently, "Heartman has a Heart problem", so they often come across as strangely two-dimensional compared to characters of an older era, which coincidentally hold together this entire game. There are also slight retcons if you care to look deeply enough into backstory to discover them, and it's 100% the king of the yellow filter visual era from the late 00s that we saw in the early PS3/360 generation and it also has the weakest replayability of any mainline MGS title. But then, negatives out of the way... It feels lovely to play, it runs like a charm. Where there is gameplay there's a tremendous amount of depth and attention to detail (like usual). Raiden usurps Grey Fox's title as coolest cyborg ninja, you really feel for Snake, and all of our favourites return for one grand finale. It rewards prior knowledge to a great extent, and act 4 is like being sucker punched by nostalgia. Over the shoulder aiming is a great QOL thing compared to old controls, octocamo is cool as hell, faction disguises also introduce a slight amount of Social Stealth which can change the flow of certain levels. Sound design is amazing. Easter eggs are fun to find. It's not without flaws, but it is a great game and I am very glad it managed to escape PS3 prison. Konami should get more props for that, considering we were told it was "impossible" for years. It's also faithful minus one codec call which they brought back the VA to revoice. My favourite MGS is probably 2, which I would give a 9.5/10. I give this a strong 7, or weak 8. Not the best overall MGS game, but for fans or people brought into the franchise already, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to play it.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

peak what an era PISS FILTER ERA
extremely solid port of a fantastic game/movie. featureset should only improve over time with patches and mods, but even at launch it runs at a locked 60fps at 4k with a full graphics settings menu.
Without doubt the best MGS game ever made is MGS 3 Snake Eater but this one is the second one to me. I really wish MGS V had never happened and this was the last MGS game storywise created to end the storyline. The boss fights are brilliants, they are packed with nostalgic elements from MGS 1, when you return to Shadow Moses Island and then the Best is Yet to Come song starts playing... MAN WHAT A FEELING! There are a lot of B movie plot holes in the story in this one unlike the previous MGS games but overall the gameplay is decent, it is a lot easier than previous MGS games even on extreme difficulty it is not challenging at all unlike MGS 3. You can buy ammo anytime as long as you have DB points to spend on the shop, you can get any gun you want anytime you want as well and your health regenerates if you crouch pretty fast. The port is really good it easily handles 4K on ultra settings and DX12. The only negative point is the Liquid Snake final boss battle which without doubt is one of the worst ones in history, it is almost as boring as MGS1 final boss battle as a matter of fact it is exactly the same one...
Runs great, can easily be modded to support all kinds of framerates and resolutions, and great controller and keyboard support. 10/10 I wouldn't have wanted the port any other way.
