Great game!

I really really enjoyed my time with this! The writing was really engaging and the art and music work super well together. Short and sweet, and the minigames were fun lil pallet cleansers and [spoiler]how they foreshadowed the last encounter mechanically was awesome [/spoiler]. Definitely worth going through from cover to cover, highly recommended even if this is a genre you're not particularly familiar with.

I've yet to 100% it, but after both the normal and true ending, I feel qualified to share my thoughts! Overall rating: 8/10! A charming, fun little point-and-click adventure game, with much more depth to its gameplay and story than you'd first expect! Pros: - Likeable characters with fun dialogue - Many story paths and unique endings depending on your choices, and chapter load points to help you go back to a point in the story to do whatever you need! - A really good plot that got me kinda emotional - AMAZING sprite art, this game is a treat stylistically - Minigames to break up the gameplay - Accessibility options for those squeamish towards the more gruesome aspects Cons: - The more gruesome and dark aspects of the game, if that isn't appealing to you. (I will not get into spoiler territory, but this is just a blanket warning!) - Some of the puzzles get a little repetitive, and some of the minigames can feel a bit unfair at times if you get bad RNG.

[h1]General Impressions[/h1] Mesmalie is an quick and intricately branching visual novel that has you, the player, involuntarily step on a carpet watching Mesmer as she slowly explains to you how to amplify your magicks all the while prepping to pull the rug underneath your feet. With the frank environmental storytelling/audio and disarming minigames in between, I wasn't able to get to an innately satisfying ending but found the experience to be well worth the price.

An utterly charming little game. I'll be thinking about Mesmer and her coven for a long time.

A delightful[spoiler]ly worbly[/spoiler] experience that is as surreal as it is charming. Very inventive art, fitting music, lots of great dialogue and choice, and I found myself attached to the characters after just a few hours. Feels like there's more secrets even after I finished that I didn't get to! Highly recommended if you're looking for a short, unique game to fill an evening.

Great little jaunt into an engaging story and world full of hidden secrets and interactions that you'd expect with a well-polished indie title. Mesmer's quirks are also top-tier.
