Gerda: A Flame in Winter

A tragic story wonderfully told. In advance, I have only played Gerda's side of the story so far, and I haven't seen everything there is to every possible event either. The whole experience felt very real, like being there and experiencing these events together with Gerda. Feeling helpless after witnessing how our husband was taken with no information on why, we follow young Gerda on her mission to save her husband from the Gestapo, who hold him as a prisoner. I can only imagine how lost Gerda must've felt when she discovered the news and had to deal with it, mostly on her own, going around with little to no connections on whom to turn. Getting desperate when it seems reliable help is hard to come by. A part of me wishes I played through the game in winter, but the atmosphere of a cold winter was well done that even now in spring, it felt chilling. The way I would imagine a Scandinavian winter. Overall, it gives off cold winter vibes, lots of snow, dim lights in the evening, and the mood of the town was as grim as it could be during times like these. I liked that there were many possible paths to choose from when interacting with other people. Pretty sure there are many more endings/outcomes for characters left to discover from what I can tell when I finished one playthrough. So, definitely worth playing through it more than once! Depending on our choices, we get to help people out who often offer to help us out in return. While we go around finding answers, we discover the reason why Anders is held captive, and then we have to make the decision which faction to trust with helping us to free him. I am not going into detail as it is a splendid story which everyone should play for themselves. I can recommend this game wholeheartedly!

I liked the game but i wish it had voices for playing characters like for narration. In rest all good, a nice game

我打完了主线，大概6小时左右，要我说，游戏本身不算差。画面，音乐，剧情也勉强过得去。要真的只是avg文字冒险或者galgame也不算太坏。主线就是妻子救夫。但是吧，选项很多表里不一，选着折磨。其次呢，就是人物写的也不够深刻，或者说立不住。光主线里的革命游击队就跟恐怖分子没区别，主要是救丈夫整的像是求着他们一样。明明丈夫也是游击队的一员。而且也没有对纳粹的恶劣行为进行描写，总结就是不够，或者说太散。表现力不行，逻辑上也难崩。一个人妻就在月台当众点火引起混乱却没人告发，这未免有点太戏剧性了吧。而且呢，作者是鼓励大伙去重复游玩不同选项来了解故事全貌的。可是又不能自主存档，游戏存档完全依靠系统存档。那还选个蛋！galgame都知道让玩家自己存档啊！玩家玩的太限制，不够自由！并且呢，游戏里想搞电车难题这一套，但是吧！主角好的又不够好，坏的也不能太坏！就是结局没有做的多，你以为是在描写人性，其实多少有点圣母。饭都吃不饱了，还非得去帮助犹太母女。主要是没回报啊？玩着憋屈，无意义！而且一帮就帮到底，干脆四川乐山的那个佛位你来坐算了。游戏的剧情没有什么起伏，很寡淡。玩着真的无聊！我坐了6个小时的牢，真的不建议大家去玩。我个人玩的视觉小说也不算少，但这个我真的没法给好评。真的太无聊了！说是慢热其实是夸它了，真的无趣！

游戏中人物塑造很好，质量很高的一款叙事作。 不仅仅是战争，很多时候现实里也面临艰难抉择，而正是这些不同的选择，最后决定了故事走向。

É um jogo muuuuuuuuuuito lento, e eu sinceramente esperava mais raiva e menos empatia com os nazistas, claro que você tem a opção de ser mais empatico ou menos empatico com eles, mas ainda me parece uma perspectiva muito liberal de interpretação da Alemanha nazista. Eu gostaria que o jogo fosse muito mais antifascista, mas não deixa de ser um jogo antifascista, e ele merece reconhecimento por isso. Gerda é uma protagonista que ainda é tratada como apenas uma simples mulher por todos, mas ela e Liva mostram que não são nada simples, e que podem fazer mais que qualquer homem numa situação totalmente desumana. Ademais, apesar de todas as ressalvas e dificuldade em jogar esse jogo por mais de uma hora seguida, ele ainda te deixa curioso sobre o desenrolar da história de Anders e de como Gerda vai lidar com os nazistas até o fim do jogo. Dontnod is politics, not gaming

Despite my little knowledge about history, this game created such an atmosphere with its music, storyline and visuals that it made me read more in depth about II World War. I loved how immersive the playstyle is and how it gives you multiple choices. In short: one of my favorite games for sure!
