About
Expansion VR reimagines real-time strategy for VR. Matches are short, intense, and built for competitive replayability. Every duel is a tactical showdown where quick decisions and smart strategy decide who survives.
Build and refine your custom deck of units — from agile swarmers to devastating siege beasts — and deploy them with motion-based control. Outsmart rivals, time your moves, and tear down the enemy’s Command Tower before they destroy yours.
Deck-Building Strategy — unlock units and abilities to create unique decks and tactics.
Fast-Paced Duels — short matches packed with intensity, perfect for both quick sessions and extended play.
Hands-On Control — immersive VR mechanics let you summon and command units with your hands.
Diverse Sci-Fi Arenas — battle across unique maps with distinct layouts and challenges.
Solo & Multiplayer Modes — test your skills against AI or face off with real players worldwide.
Active Development Roadmap — Expansion is in Early Access, with regular updates adding new maps, units, and features based on community feedback.
In the far reaches of space, a ruthless battle for resources is underway. Your Company, once focused solely on profitable mining, now faces unwelcome competition. To secure your claims and protect your bottom line, you must rally veteran miners, repurpose heavy equipment, and recruit unlikely allies — from privateers to alien forces.
Lead your Company to victory, seize control of resource-rich asteroids, and expand your dominance ever outward.

I'd rate this game 5.5/10 in its current state. Performance is great, I get solid 80 fps using Index res 500% with an RTX 3090 - res 500% is an insane res of 45 million pixels per frame combining both eyes. Maps are extremely small, probably due to this game being made for bottom-end phone gpus like Adreno 650 inside the Quest 2's XR2 SoC. That said, the game looks great with high-res-ish textures and dynamic shadows - but I don't think we get bigger maps, better AI and more moveable units than a phone gpu can handle. The game has no settings for graphics and sure could need some antialiasing. The gameplay is very simple, you just put down units and they move themselves. Once put on the ground, you cannot decide where any unit should move (this is called an auto-battler, as you control very little). This is worse controls than Command & Conquer had in 1995, lol - but if you never played RTS before, maybe this is nice. For experienced RTS players, get Brass Tactics instead, it's really like 100 times better in every way. Landfall and Final Assault in VR are also leagues ahead of this game. (Btw, all these games can be perfectly Revived on non-Meta hmds.) Expansion is early access, I do like the concept and will recommend the game if you want to support the devs. Right now the game really isn't there with no singleplayer campaign, but I'll be checking the game out again when it's out of early access.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/GVzNW8hyZxQ This is a neutral recommendation. I really wanted to give this game a glowing recommendation. I had fun and it's a beautiful looking game. However, the lack of content and the lack of communication from the devs on Steam, leave me to only give this a cautionary neutral recommendation. Buy at your own risk! Buy only to support development. Development may have ceased already. There is a concerning post on the Steam forum about the developer. I don't know if it's true or not, but if true, it would be a clear red flag for buying this game. I have no way to verify the veracity of the post, but feel free to read it on the Steam community forums for this game. It is strange that the developers have not responded. It is a serious allegation. I did try to play online multiplayer PvP quickplay, but it just stayed on connecting. I assume nobody is playing this game online. So you'll have to play with a buddy if you want to test it out. I only played single-player. Single-player content is very limited. There are 5 maps only. They all look gorgeous. Unfortunately, I ran into a bug where sometimes the enemy base did not spawn. You have to quit when that happens. Gameplay is very simple. There's not a lot of depth. There are no difficulty levels either. I always beat the AI. It's basically rock-paper-scissors and positioning of your troops. Certain troop units are better against others. Some of these units really go well together. Despite this, I was having fun. It's not nearly as good as Brass Tactics or Final Assault. However, there are some fun troop unit unlocks. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps. I think I only experienced one micro stutter, so performance was good overall. You grab space to move around. You grab with both hands and separate or close in order to increase or decrease the playing field. You grab and move hands in a circular fashion in order to turn (but I never found it necessary to do so). You can play comfortably seated. Rate 5/10. I got this on sale 20% off and I don't regret the purchase, but I'm fearful this may never get another update and it's probably been abandoned although it's still very early in development. I hope the devs update the game. Just beware if you decide to purchase this.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator group Oculus Rift Reviews.
Merci merci lol.
I'm honestly extremely impressed by this game! I'm not a big RTS player but I decided to pick this up because it was affordable and looked pretty unique. I love how the game is simple enough for pretty much everyone to understand and enjoy from the first game you play unlike most other super complicated non-VR titles that I've played in the past. (this is my first time playing a RTS in VR) I will strongly recommend this to everyone, especially if you would like to play some 1v1 competitive while sitting on the couch or bed. Matches are also quick (ranges between 5 and 30 minutes) depending on how equally matched you are. You can play online or offline against AI. This game also looks great while not being very resource intense which is a good thing for a potential VR esports title like this. Yes, coming from a competitive player myself, I see a ton of potential for this game BLOWING UP! This game has just released and I have not experienced any bug so far. This is now actually my second favourite VR title with Half-Life Alyx being first. It is basic, but sometimes basic is a good thing. (Playing on a Quest 2) Also, if you would like to see a 10 minute AI match, check out this no commentary YouTube video that I have made. (I'm not trying to farm views, this is a new VR channel that I do for fun. I have another channel with close to 1M subs) Video Link: https://youtu.be/qX_9BOo8e-4
Game is meh but what makes it unplayable is the inability to turn off the music...even if the music was any good (which it isn't), I'd still prefer to hear my own.
The game is not bad! I can recommend it to casual gamers or people who don’t have a lot of time to play games like me. I really liked the units. Get online and the game will sparkle with new colors.
just needs some building or turret building and player level system and im hooked :)
