Its a real shame what happened to this game, because it showed so much promise! I played the hell out of it on launch and it was a lot of fun... but Behaviour cut support and basically killed the game in around 1-2 years, so its just abandoned.
The developers have abandoned this game. I tried to come back after a long absence from the game and no longer understand what's going on in the game. I asked them to reset my profile so I can start fresh and understand the game again, as I've seen others request and had fulfilled. They denied me and gave no reason for it. This game has changed so much since launch I don't understand it anymore. Its no longer fun to play as I was a fairly high level when I quit playing now everything so to hard to make any progress. So this game is dead to me and is going to be a huge thumbs down for me. Mainly for the developers. It was a fun game originally . too bad
While the game may no longer be receiving direct support from the developers, I feel like the game isn't dead. Overnight my base got raided several times, and even got some kills. Fun game where you get to be both a level designer and player. I don't personally understand why the developers stepping away means the game is "dead," it just means development on the game is finished. I think it may just be that because live-service games are so common everyone expects every game to receive continual updates. The "Easy Anti-Cheat" label in Steam is no longer accurate; as of a recent announcement the kernel-level anti-cheat has been removed.
The game has been officially abandonned by the devs. It's a great game in concept, though it was kinda poorly balanced, as is customary for any game made by Behaviour Interactive. On the bright side, since the game is curated by the community (players make the content), as long as there are players, you won't run out of content, but it'll get boring pretty fast with very few incentives to play it.
This is a cool game that I mostly enjoyed my time with. Many of its mechanics are poorly explained and basically inscrutable, but the core gameplay of dungeon delving (and building) is fairly satisfying. I don't recommend others buy this for two major reasons: 1. A large aspect of the progression requires other players to raid (and die in) your custom outposts and, with about four people playing this currently, you'll run out of new victims after a day or two. 2. Game doesn't save your custom outposts until you leave the building session and this is also the moment where my game has most consistently crashed so that has been a couple big chunks of time down the drain and basically killed my motivation to build more. Raiding itself can be fun but there isn't enough variety of guards and traps to keep things fresh. I'd love for MYM to have a spiritual successor one day because it has a lot of unique and neat stuff going for it. Check this out if you can get it in a steep sale or a bundle; otherwise it's a pass.
dead game. was fun on lunch, no longer updated, don't waste your 20 dollars.
I like the creative aspect of the game. Building your levels and letting other players play them. I also like exploring what others have built. But I don't like playing the game as such. It is too slow, combat isn't varied enough. There are basically only 3 types of weapons, one of which is a personal shield that I can't really figure out. I would love that game if it had the variety and speed of an arena shooter. But as it currently is ... not. Then you have the usual grind to unlock more and more of the building blocks and upgrade your weapons. I would have appreciated it, if you would unlock them faster or if you had the entire toolbox available from the start. The setting is quite cool, and the game pretends to have a story, which ultimately goes nowhere because of the live service aspect of the game. Not recommended.
This game deserved better. It's damn good
Meet Your Maker is the only game in its niche and somehow managed to be both an extremely fun and well thoughtout game and an incredibly unbalanced mess that nobody wants to play at the same time
actually really fun. only ran into 1 map i didnt like so far. and was surprised to see my map got 9 kills overnight, allowing me to "prestige" it. I honestly didnt think anyone would play it at all.
