If you enjoy Tower Defense games with a small narrative experience, unlockables, mechs and kaijus to squash then this is a must have for your Steam library. POSITIVES ========================================================================================= - Support an Indie Dev that made a fully playable game with passion, love and care. - A nice narrative experience to enjoy while you play. - A good gameplay loop with difficulty modifiers. - Towers lots of them! (Some critiscism in the negatives.) - Companion mechs to unlock and upgrade along side your main mech. - Branching research tree to upgrade towers and abilities. - Lots of maps with different mechanics to keep things fresh while you play. - Additional game modes to play after completing the narrative experience. - Pixel graphics and unique sprites that keep you immersed in the world. - Optional hardcore mode for those that master the game mechanics and want a playthrough with a challenge. Negatives/Critiques (These are given with the intent to inform buyers and offer feedback to the dev) ========================================================================================= - Towers feel a unbalanced. After your first playthrough you learn to rely on a handful of towers because the others aren't as useful/versatile. - Some UI bugs might stop you from moving your mechs at inopportune times and can kill you run on a mission or survival mode. - Typos here and there but nothing that breaks immersion. - Make sure you exit the end mission screen because then game continues to play and your mechs will be destroyed by any remaining Kaijus if you leave the end screen running to go eat dinner or run off for a bathroom break.
This is a good game. The makers put a ton of soul into. Mid way through you also realize they push the 'normal' bounds of their system in all directions (as good designers should!). What do I mean? First you get Plant vs Zombie lanes, then suddenly you scroll the screen right, then suddenly attacked by both sides...then suddenly your approaching them, and some your just defending on time. That kind of variety keeps it fresh, and it's not just another weapon or something it's a shift to very core of the gameplay and it feels great. Where I think it could improve: -The tech tree is pretty static as so is the MECH upgrade tree, I don't know if I would want to replay this a dozen times like say Spelunky, FTL or Slay the Spire. So it's just missing that last little bit to make this a true classic. -There's a 'feature' where you can sell walls for 90% of their value just before they get destroyed, this turns out to be a very critical 'skill' later in difficult levels, but it's not one I enjoy. I'd rather the game not build around this. But don't let those stop you from trying this game. Give it a shot!
Fun game. The bugs are insane. Sometimes you can't move your mech and it just gets stuck. Sometimes you can't click on objects or there is a very tiny pixelsworth of space for you to click on it. I like the premise and gameplay but dear god the bugs are frustrating.
A really good game with rare/unusual mechanics for the genre. It’s a blend of tower defense and intense action. You’re not just placing towers, you also control customizable mobile mechs, actively moving them across the battlefield. I also really liked that there're not only defensive missions but offensive ones as well. On top of that, there’s a solid variety of towers and mechanics, a story, pleasing visuals, and well-balanced difficulty. It truly feels like the game was made with passion. The downsides are occasional minor bugs and the fact that you’ll need to do a bit of grinding by replaying completed levels a few times to earn enough currency for upgrades. I personally don't mind this, but not everyone might like it. 9/10
Good bones. Fun art style. Very... very grindy. Too grindy for what it offers. I may return to it eventually but if feels like the grind isn't worth it. Unless you're into grinding, some people love that and in that case go for it! :)
Finished the game 3 years ago and am just leaving a review now cause I cant believe there's not enough. Game is good and challenging even on the hardest difficulty! its worth it! Time to go back and play it again just in time for part two!

Yea! Macht fun!!!!
I have only 5.3 hours in this game so almost 1/4th of a day. The thing is that all of these hours were logged over one weekend in around 3 sessions. The premise is simple and clean. Big Robot fight Big Kaiju Monster. I think one of the games greatest strengths is how true it is to the theme. It provides the adrenaline pumping action of piloting a huge mech protecting the vulnerable and squishy humans behind you. There's literally a giant wall between humanity and the monsters and you man that. The only personal compliant I would lodge is that wall selling micro is not particularly fun. It is engaging as many a run were saved by quick selling and buying of the same wall slot over and over. On the other hand the actual core gameplay loop of tower defense with manual control of mech and different towers/ deployable creeps keeps the game fresh mission to mission. Overall I'd give the game a 8.5 out of 10
