About
Mayor May Knott is a “creepy-cozy” 3D adventure game about a shy girl who accidentally becomes mayor of a haunted ghost town.
Initially, May runs in fear from the monsters lurking about! But as she explores the town, solves puzzles, plays minigames, and fixes up houses and buildings, she becomes more confident, overcomes her fears, and discovers that the monsters are actually all very friendly and would love to help May around town!
Eventually, with the help of her newfound friends, May turns the abandoned ghost town into a thriving community, filled with a variety of delightfully creepy creatures.
Repair machines with Grandfather Clock, the clockwork retired rapper. Join Reel McKoi in fishing junk out of the polluted lake. Get your fortune read by the mysterious, sandwich-headed Madame Pastrami. And get insulted by Dick Tater, tyrannical owner of Glitzberg, the seedy apartment complex next door.
And that's just in the first 5 minutes!
Throughout the game, you'll find "records" to play on the Edjukebox in the Hall of Records. Those records teach you new recipes by playing original, professionally-produced songs spanning a huge range of genres -- from rap to rock, country to punk, girl-band to boy-band, and beyond!
Early in the game, May finds and fixes up a device for talking to ghosts. An “Ectophone” if you will. With the Ectophone, May can talk to the many ghosts haunting the houses around town, and try to help them remember their names.
Once May knows a ghost’s name, she can find their “record” in the Hall of Records, a combination record store and city archives. The Hall of Records is also home to the “Edjukebox”, a machine used to play the original, professionally-produced song on each record!
By listening to a new record, May learns a new crafting or cooking recipe! This is called “Edjuke-ation”.
Armed with the recipes from the Edjukebox, May can cook and craft exactly what each ghost needs to move on, leaving behind the key to their house!
The game cycles between day and night, and monsters have their own schedules of things to do. Sometimes the secret to making a new friend is to catch them at the right time, meet them in the right place, or build up the courage to talk to them!
By getting house keys from ghosts, and giving them to the monsters you meet, you can make them permanent residents of your town! Each new resident helps out around the town in some way, and as you add them to your town you gain new options and opportunities to meet new ghosts and monsters, solve puzzles, play minigames, and explore new areas!
Mayor May Knott is brimming with puzzles and minigames, whether it’s a puzzle to deduce the name of a ghost, a quest to find ingredients for a tricky recipe, or a minigame to befriend a new monster.
There’s even a spooky abandoned mine / bowling alley, a haunted mansion full of puzzles, and a creepy endless hallway stalked by a terrifying creature!
As you unlock new areas, repair houses and buildings, and move new residents to your town, you breathe new life into your abandoned ghost town, turning it into a happy thriving community.
Perhaps eventually you can convince all of the monsters to live in your town… even the tyrannical Dick Tater!

Just finished the game today! This is a really interesting social adventure game about restoring a little village from a dark and dilapidated ghost town to a full community. You play as May Knott, a shy scared girl who decides to take a train to the last stop on the line to get away from all her fears and finds herself in a city surrounded by monsters. She starts out scared of her own shadow, unable to last more than a few seconds in the dark or interact with any of the populace, but slowly May builds up her courage and you'll get to know the various villagers and help them out. It feels inspired by games like Majora's Mask, but with less adherence to the time schedule and being in the right place at the right time (although there is some of that). Characters walk around the town, do different tasks, and as you run the town you can make their lives easier by restoring homes for them, and providing them with energy and food. The main thrust of this game is figuring out the varied puzzles for how to make friends with the monsters and help them out. Sometimes it's cooking the right meal, while other times it's bringing certain characters together. There is really a wide variety of interactions and mini games throughout. The game feels very snappy as well. Sometimes your character is a bit slow to move when scared but, talking to characters, travelling around and interacting is really crisp. The game has really charming character design and art, but it's the writing that really takes the forefront. It has a lot of pun-filled character names, genuinely well written light dialogue and as part of meeting them, you also get character specific songs that parody a variety of styles that are all pretty catchy and fun. You do some light resource management to get supplies to repair the town and make inventions to aid your restoration. All in all it's a very unique experience and fun to play, I'm really glad I tried it.

I loved the demo so I got the game and now every time I try to play it it locks up my whole computer and I have asked for help and have gotten none
Great game! Game was recommended to me. There is SO much stuff to do in this game its crazy! I started getting really hooked a few hours in. I look forward to DLC or a part 2 if any! Great job devs!
gives strong edna and harvey / psychonauts vibes from the art direction but is more of a puzzle solving and crafting game than anything else. Really enjoyed my playthrough and other than one tool that is kind of easy to miss and one really odd puzzle was a fairly straightforward game.
ok so, it was good. i really enjoyed the cast and themes. but some of the puzzles are headscratchers. recommend if you like creepy cozy, but not if you want combat in your town-sim. its not too short but not too long. 8.5 out of ten.
Mega! Gefällt mir richtig gut!
It's just such a lovely game. I've completed it 3 times already since buying it (unusual for me, I'm usually a one and done player). It's such a nice world to exist in, very cute with a creepy edge to it. I love the character's, the art style is amazing. I love love love the music. I'm seriously considering buying the sound track. It's really funny especially if you like puns. A great creepy cozy game overall. Highly recommend.
